Which brand of disposable diapers can cause a baby to have diaper rash more often?
My 1 year old son seems to constantly have diaper rash. I have started using baby powder and letting his butt air out for about 30 minutes every day, and it has helped wonderfully. But I have read that the absorbent gel in the diapers can cause a rash. I just wanna know different opinions out there. Which brand can cause diaper rash the most and which brand can cause it the least. Also, which diapers have the least about of gel in them? Thanks!

- My favorite brands is huggies and pampers, don't get those cheap ones, especially at night time. for the diaper rash try a&d ointment or vasaline with cornstarch baby powder.
- I have 4 kids and all 4 of them broke out the most when I used name brand. Luvs were the worse though. Parents choice diapers have always worked the best to prevent diaper rash for all my kids. What works great for one baby may be the worse diaper for another.
- i have tried just about all the brands including store brands. in my opinion, stick to the huggy pamper luvs. i tried the walmart brand and the sucked target brand is ok if i am really broke for some reason. the drugstore brand stink too. good luck, one does sound old for diaper rashes, and believe me i have 2 kids and one on hte way and am now way an expert on this stuff. Some kids just seem to be sensitive. i would also like to know if he is wearing cotton/ natural fiber pants, or nylon, synthetic, pants...which do you favor? that could make a small difference.
- It might not be diaper rash. It might be a fungal infection. This would be characterized by small red bumps all along the bum and thigh. They will be itchy and persistent. Diaper rash looks like red irritated skin and is not bumpy. If it is fungal, you can get over the counter Lotrimen (not sure of spelling) for Athletics foot. nothing fancy, just the plain Lortriman. Use it for about a week and you'll see an improvement.
- For our 3, Luvs worked the best. Every child is different.
