Diapers Q&A

Diapers for baby boys?

I will be having my 1st boy soon after 2 girls, and I have heard that baby boys are a little trickier when it comes to buying diapers- are there specific brands that do not work very well for boys? I do not buy pampers, they are too expensive. I usually buy whatever is on sale, or Parent's Choice. What brands don't work so well? Or is this even true? Thanks!

  1. I have issues with all diapers but pampers Swaddlers. I sometimes buy the snug and try huggies, but they aren't as comfortable. The swaddlers are like cloth. I had luck with the target brand, if i changed them more often.
  2. use swaddlers
  3. I use parents choice too. I love them. I only wish I discovered them with my first baby, I would have saved a bundle. They work just as well for my boy as they did for my girl. Good luck, boys are way different then girls in every way (good and bad).
  4. With my son we use Luv's bear hug diapers because they are the only ones he didn't leak through and that didn't leave deep red marks on his sides and legs. And on the plus side, these diapers are more cost effective. Try parent's choice and see how your son does with those. We tried them and they were fine, but we just prefer the Luvs because they are slightly less bulky. Huggies and Pampers were not good with my son, both leaked numerous times and left marks like I said earlier. Oh and not to sound weird, but when you change your son, remember to point his little boy parts down! I don't know how many people changed my son and he ended up with a side soaked in pee because they forgot to point him down. Common sense yes, but some people just don't realize this. Congratulations!!!
  5. I have always used Pampers on my son..BUT my sis in law has always used the white cloud diapers at wal mart with all 3 of hers 2 girs 1 boy..and she had no problems...She still uses them... Boys aren't that different from girls..the only different part is..the pee shoots up..LOL..I am lucky and havn't got hit in the face...(knock on wood)...You just have to make sure when you put the diaper on...the penis points down..if not..you have a mess all over the place..hubby and I figured that out after we kept having to change sheets..lol..we were too tired to figure out that his pecker was up not down..LOL..
  6. I used the K-mart brand with my boys and i thought they were great, i actually liked them better than the more expensive brands. (i can't remember what the brand was called though - but they're at k-mart)
  7. I love Pampers.. if they are too expensive for you, try Target brand. They absorbed just as well for my son.. I just felt that the material was a little harsh so I spent the extra bucks and switched back to Pampers Baby Dry. Costco sells a bulk pack for a pretty good deal.. I think it's $38 for a pack of 260. Also, for wipes, I actually prefer Target brand.. the material is delicate and they don't seem to dry out like Pampers wipes. Best Wishes! ;-)
  8. I have only used Pampers with my son.
  9. My son is 11 months and we get Parent's Choice. The are really good diapers in my opinion. They are just as good as Pampers.
  10. well i used pampers when he was a baby baby. now he is 12 months and all we use is luvs.
  11. With my son almost none of the diapers I tryed worked. Then out of dispare I bought Luvs. At first I thought they were just cheap diapers but they worked!!! They were the only diaper he did not pee out of!!!!
  12. I use Pampers Swaddlers for my son! I find that the huggies have those clear jell things that get all over him even after he pees once. Swaddlers only go up to a size 2 though. And after that I plan on going to regular Pampers. With my daughter, I was totally different and I bought White Cloud. They worked excellent! Haven't tried them with my son, yet.
