Diapers Q&A

As a parent, would you be interested in a place like this?

I am interested in starting up a parent/child activity and workshop center. It would be a bright fun place with lots of toys and activity centers for kids to play on, comfy seats for adults, and a shop filled with only high quality, owner tested and approved products such as slings, toys, cloth diapers and breastpumps. The center would hold several classes for children such as a kids cooking class, art classes, sibling readiness classes etc. Parent and child classes such as one for both for cooking, a special daddy and me series, parent and child yoga etc, and parent only classes and meeting such as budgeting, menu planning, and a few just-for-fun classes, and free meetings for things as (perhaps) La Leche League and diaper free baby, while the kids could play in the play center. Would you like a center like this? How often would you want to go? What would you be willing to pay? What classes and activities would you want to see?

  1. if i didnt work and go to school both full time i would totally go to someplace like this, prob twice a week. good luck
  2. I would love something like that . Im a stay at home mom and it would be great to have something like that in my area where i can get together with other moms an dads. I would go atleast once a week. Im not sure how much i would pay i guess it would depend on how often i go how long it is and when i have to pay. (ex. if you pay monthly im not sure id do it because who knows if i will be able to make it 4 times a month or if i have to pay beginning of month its harder b.c thats when all my other bills are due)
  3. That sounds like it would be a GREAT place for families to go and spend quality interactive time together. I'd say that I might go there twice a week if not more. Perhaps once or twice with the kids myself during the week (SAHM with 2) for something fun to do and once during the weekend so that my husband could join in the fun. I'm not sure how much I would pay...maybe $15/adult and $8/child per class (depending on whether or not materials are used during class that need to be covered). All of the above-mentioned classes sound like wonderful ideas. Good luck with that and let me know when you open a center up in Grand Rapids, MI!!
  4. Wow! That sounds really cool. I would've loved such a place when I was a stay-at-home mom. Now that I work full-time, I think I might like it even more! :D Recently, I wanted to take an exercise class, but what to do with the 10 year old? Get a sitter? I really wanted a mother-daughter class, but the only thing they offered was mother-baby at 10 a.m. when I was at work and the kid at school. :( What would I pay? I think it's cool that you'd have some free things; you could also charge per class (check local health clubs, YMCA to see what their rates are per class) - but I'd be willing to pay up to $100 for a 6 -8 week class for me and the kid together; an annual membership (again, like the Y) might work, but it might put people off as well, with a big payment up front. Suggestion: Remember the working folks! Don't hold all the best classes during the day! Offer some of the good stuff in the evening and on weekends! Here's a BAD example: Our local PTA is always complaining that so few parents are involved. When do they meet? Friday morning at 9 a.m.!
  5. I wish we had something like this wher I lived, I'd be there all of the time. I would however want there to be people who are certified in whatever they would be teaching/instructing me and my daughter in and also would want anyone teaching or otherwise working there to be certified in first aid/cpr/ ect. I think I'd be willing to pay a monthly fee of about 50-75 $ if I were unlimited in which classes I could participate in and how frequently. But maybe say $10-15 per individual class per month. I'd deff. want mommy and me yoga, also a class on baby/toddler sign language. Also maybe even a class for children from say 4-6 on manners and etiquite that they could "graduate" from if the did well. Sounds great though, if you come to south jersey let me know! Good luck
  6. I would love to have a place like that! I wouldn't pay more then 50 dollars a month as a membership or 5 dollars a class. I know, I'm SOOO cheap.
