There are just too many diaper bags to choose from! HELP?
Ive been trying to find a diaper bag but there are just sooo many different types and being that this is my first child, Im completely lost. There are errand diaper bags, day diaper bags, overnight diaper bags and then there are the different styles like messenger, backpack, stroller. Whats the difference between them all and do I need different ones? I just wanted one diaper bag that would be big enough for whatever I may need. Any info would be great!! Thanks

- http://www.walmart.com/catalog/product.do?product_id=5840019 this one is great!!! goes well with a girl or boy...
- get a small bag, one that holds 4-5 diapers, small container of wipes, small bag for tylenol, gas drops ect, and a change of clothes or two. that should be all you will need to carry with you for quite awhile. if you plan to take baby on an all day trip then i suggest a backpack, but just get a regular one, not an overpriced "just 4 baby" style.
- I had one large one, and one small one I used for quick trips. I don't think the style matters at all, just pick one you like the looks of, because you'll be carrying it everywhere! Actually, come to think of it, the small ones I had were free -- I got them in the hospital with formula samples in them. They were very handy, though.
- I would think it would depend on your lifestyle. If you travel alot then purchase a backpack style. But you are going to be a stay at home mom or just for running errands then a more simple diaper bag would be useful. With my first son I had a diaper bag where it has a changing pad pull out. I loved it. We loved talking walks and listening to bands in the parks and when he needed a change I didn't have to lay him on the ground to change him. And I could easily store bottles in it and extra formula and outfits. But now that I have 5 I realized the less I carry the better. I have just a simple homemade bag where I just toss in some diapers and a package of wipes. I would just have the bottle in my pocket because we really didn't go that far. And I realize that I don't need 4 different bottles for a 2 hour trip to the park. So overall, it depends on your style and how much you like to carry things around.
- Don't bother with all of the fancy "advertised" diaper bags. Any type of bag will do...I suggest one for diapers and such and then another for food items and accessories. I have 2 1/2 year old twins and have been through many different diaper bags (wasted money)...before I realized any type of bag will do...just be sure they are the right size for what you want to carry with you!! Good Luck!!
- First off, relax. It is just a diaper bag. None of them hold the key to life or the answers to the mysteries of the universe. Assess what you think your needs are going to be during the initial first few months of your baby's life, and go from there.
- things to look for. -one big compartment as you don't have time to search through them all when the baby needs something and it is screaming -one with a long enough strap to drape over the stroller if you need the basket for shopping at the mall -one with elastics on the inside or outside to hold a couple bottles of formula or water -and one with plastic on the inside so that you may wash it out easily if something spills (cause it happens) all the other details and extra compartments are not necessary. it should be easy to look through and find things. keep extra stuff in your trunk of the car to replenish if you are out and don't want tocarry all of it with you. don't buy the huge bag it will get heavy. oh an a light color on the inside is easier to find stuff too. not black.
- choose the one that is just big enough for what you do the most, don't over think it bigger is not better when it comes to baby bags cause you will learn lugging that around with a kid sucks I have 3 kids I know lol
- try buying a pouchmiss at http://www.pouchmiss.com/home.html its a converter for your bags so that you can turn any of them into a diaper bag. it has all the essentials of a diaper bag but you can transfer it between any bag you have. so if you need to pack alot of stuff, find a bigger bag you have and just slip the prepacked pouchmiss in. pack it up with the absolute essentials like diapers, wipes, bibs etc and then its just a matter of finding the right bag for your outing. they are only 35 bucks and its free shipping from the site. good luck with the baby! x
