Why don't they sell washable nursing pads? Doesn't that make a lot of sense? Do you have another solution?
For example I plan to make my own somehow... Or could you just cut up a cloth diaper and use a smaller piece, folded somehow? No kidding! Lol... I couldn't find any, thanks.

- There are washable nursing pads. You can order them online or find them at babys-r-us.
- They do...you can check out WAHM businesses ...there are even some made from bamboo, which is highly absorbent. If you're interested in buying some and supporting another mother, check out diaperswappers.com and the FSOT forum, then WAHM. They sell lots of good things there!
- if you ever use wic they give you 3 sets of washable nursing pads...they also sell them at speciality baby stores. (i don't like them...they leak SO much quicker. with disposable pads, i change them in the morning and at night, with washable pads, i have to change them every 2-3 hours or so, so its not worth it for me)
- I used newborn diapers since my son came out almost a size 2 and I had tons of them.. this was however when my milk came in and I didnt breast feed so it would probably be a money saver to buy washable ones
- yeah i got two diff types and I wouild suggest you look at them before buying (i got mine online) as one set is really thin and one reallly thick. The thin ones were good when my milk was coming in as I had hardly any room in my bra! but if you leak a lot thay are no use at all. can't remember the makes though, i'm afraid (it doesnt say on them).
- Um I guess its a good idea, but its so much easier to just toss them. I only leaked for about the first 4 weeks, and during that time i felt so crappy and was so tired that nothing in this world could have convinced me to use anything that had to be washed. Its a good idea in the long term, like if you leak the whole time you breast feed. But just to use for a few weeks, disposables were the only way I'd go.
- They do! There's crappy ones at baby stores by Gerber but I like the brand called Milk Diapers.
- they do sell washable nursing pads, La Leche League Washable Nursing Pads is one brand; Dr. Brown's Contoured Lace Washable Nursing Breast Pads is another; Avent Washable Nursing Pads Bravado Moisture-Wick Washable Nursing Breast Pads, Lansinoh and Evenflo are a few others that I have seen; you can buy them online(you can do a google search and type in washable nursing pads and it will bring up different sites) or at Wal-Mart, or Babies R Us.
- Medela 100% Cotton Washable Bra Pads Washable Bra Pads from Medela prevent unsightly wet spots while breastfeeding! Made of 100% breathable cotton, these washable breast pads absorb moisture and fit all breast sizes. Machine wash warm with like colors, tumble dry and use... 6.99 at babies r us Thank heaven I decided to try this brand. Very soft, great coverage and best of all - no leaks! I had been using the Gerber washable pads, but they leaked often and weren't as comfortable.
- They do sell them as many pointed out, however, they always leaked for me until my baby was closer to 3 months and had a regular feeding time. If she skips a feeding time, then when she does eat and I let down, the other breast leaks so much it leaks through the pad. They are great for normal everyday use and then I use the disposable kinds (with a plastic liner to prevent leaking) for when we go out.
- They do they make cloth ones and reusable silicone ones. And you can find many patterns for sewing your own. - I actually had washable nursing pads for my first son who will soon be fifteen. I can't remember where I got them but I think they were a gift. I don't think they were homemade so I really think they are available. I know the disposable leak on me. I haven't found any that I really like. My baby is a month old now and I think I'll look into the washable kind. I forgot all about them!!
