How often do you bathe your infant baby?
Is bathing them daily to much for them or is it ok. I was just wondering, i give my son a bath once a week, unless he happens to have a bad diaper or pee's on himself. Did you bath them daily? My son is 6 weeks old.

- Daily baths dry out the skin. I used to bathe my son every other or every 3rd day unless he had a messy diaper.
- NOW IS THE TIME SO START EVERY OTHER DAY BATHS, THEN EVERY NIGHT FOR A GOOD ROUTINE.
- Well at the start my midwife said not to bath my son daily maybe twice a week but i still did it every second day or at least gave him a wash down with a washer. Now that my kids are 2 years old and 6 months they get a bath twice a day. One in the morning when they wake up so they feel fresh, and one before they go to bed because i find they both sleep better, and to prevent dry skin i put a bit of baby oil in there bath and use baby soap with moisterising cream in it. Sometimes they will have one during day if the little one has chucked all over himself and is a bit smelly or my eldest one gets really dirty outside, but to be honest with you i wouldnt bath my children just once a week no matter how old they are wether a dr or midwife said it was ok.
- Babies do NOT get dirty to have a daily bath, and have a tender skin. I bathed my daughter twice a week when she was a newborn. Also summer babies can have more fun in the water, but winter babies need to be kept warm.
- every 2 days. If she is fussy at night, I give her a bedtime bath with lavender johnson and johnson. It depends on how much or little your baby likes bath time. But once a week is not enough. :(
- Two or three times a week is good. I used to wash my baby's diaper area every time I changed them. You can tell when they need a bath by smelling them, if they smell like they need a bath then do it. Make sure you wash good in the folds of their neck, open their little hands and wash between their fingers and their toes too. And under their arms. All them folds get lint built up in there and cause irritation.
- i have a 3 month old baby, and i use to give her a bath twice a week... is okay!! when the baby be 3 or more months you could give them a bath like 5times a week... goodluck
- I just bathed my daughter when she was dirty or stinky. so like once a week. Now that she's 7 months and getting everywhere I bathe her every night as part of our night routine
- Bathing them every day actually isn't very good for their skin (dries it out). It's recommended 1-2 times a week. You can wipe them down with a warm washcloth in between those days. It's recommended to wash your babys hands and face every day with cotton swabs. They get milk on their face and suck on their hands so you want them to keep clean. I bathe my baby 2 times a week (in her tub and wash her hair) and if she made a big mess in her diaper, I'll do it more.
- Every two days is good.
- I bathe my son (8 weeks) same as you, once a week unless dirty. I think it is plenty. My older son had eczema and I learned with him that to much bathing really made his case worse. My older son is now 2 and has out growen his eczema. He now gets a bath every other night (off nights are just hands & face wash). We started this routine around the time when he started to crawl and you know...discovered dirt.
- Absolutely every night! Poor thing is in a diaper all day! In the winter I run the shower for a few minutes to warm up the bathroom before he gets in his bath. I don't wait for him to get "stinky" to bathe him. I don't wait for me to stink, so why should I wait for him to? lol Also, it helps relax him before bedtime.
- at 6 weeks, i would say every other night. every night drys out baby's skin. then when baby is a few months old probably every night.
- Well I have 2 kids and when they were infants i bathed them everyday i washed them up in the morning and gave them a full bath at night. I dont see a thing wrong in bathing them too much. Just keep him nice and warm after wards so he cant catch a cold. And make sure you hydrate thier shin with alot of baby lotion cause there little delicate skin tend to dry out. Babies feel and smell better after a bath. In my opinion once a week is entirely too long for a baby to go without a bath. Imagine how you would feel if you had to get a bath once a week feel. My kids were just fine OK?
- My son is 2 months and he gets a bath every other day. Make sure you wash in the creases between his toes, fingers, underarms, and neck. These areas will often have lint buildup or smell of milk.
- Around 6 weeks I started bathing my daughter every other day. She's now 5 months old and we take a bath together every night. My pediatrician and lactation consultant both recommended this to help with milk production (skin-to-skin contact helps to promote lactation hormones). Once the weather changed and the furnace came on, I also started to notice that her little skin was getting dry. I talked to my pediatrician and she said that before we stop the daily baths I should follow the bath by applying something to lock in the moisture. She told me that in order to work, whatever we apply to the skin must be solid at room temp. Apparently baby oils just rub off on the clothes and it's hard to find a commercial baby lotion that doesn't contain harsh chemicals. She recommended making one at home with 8 parts olive oil and one part beeswax but I've been told that even shortening would work. (FYI: we don't have any bee allergies in our family.) I melted a pure beeswax candle in the microwave and mixed it with the olive oil. After letting it sit and solidify it was perfect. After two days of applying it generously before bedtime the dry skin was gone. (Also, I have full confidence that it's totally safe.) In addition to washing all the creases, pretty soon, once "pre-teething" starts, you'll be dealing with drool rashes, etc. It's really important to remove the harsh saliva from the delicate skin.
