How many All in One diapers do I need to get for my 6 month old?
Please only for parents that use or have used the AIO cloth diapers answer. I am a stay at home mommy and I currently use huggies stay dry but I am switching to AIO cloth diapers. I have already ordered 6 diapers, and just wanted to know how many more I should get. Will he go through more cloth diapers than his regular? I have ordered 6 handmade AIO diapers that are good 18 lbs - 36 lbs so they will last him a while I am just wondering how many he'll go through daily. Should I put in an extra cloth liner?

- I do partial cloth diapering with AIOs and right now thanks to a switch in sizes I'm down to seven dipes total, and that's actually enough with (1) disposables at night and when out, (2) daily laundry. Washing a load of dipes daily is a lot of unnecessary washing machine use, though. You'll want to at least double the amount you're getting eventually. Hard to answer how often you'll change him and whether you want a doubler in there without knowing how often you change a Huggies or how absorbent the AIOs are... One caveat: I went through several brands before I found the AIO I like. If the ones you get are leaky, they might just not be quite the right fit for your baby.
- I use pocket diapers (very similar to AIO's) on my 4 month old. I recently upsized since he's a big boy. I find I can go 1 1/2 to 2 days on 16 diapers. I find that I do change more often with cloth diapers than with disposables (which we use when we're travelling) around 8-10 times per day. With disposables it is really easy to wait for 2 pees to happen before changing but with cloth you notice a wet baby easier and change more frequently.
