Planning of baby! Any suggestions on what I am missing for household items?
I can't help it, I have always been a planner. I have looked online for a household item list but can't find one? Thanks in advance for your comments! Household item list: Diapers, wipes, nighlights, baby / regular laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, razors, q-tips, cotton swabs/balls, petroleum jelly, sanitary pads, sandwich bags, garbage bags, bars of soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, shampoo & conditioner, tooth paste, cleaning supplies, & dog food. *I have a separate list of baby items, but would like to stock up on daily household items as well* Thank you! I know I can take the baby places, but I would rather take it other places besides running to the grocery store, I just don't want to worry about things like household items!

- You know it is ok to take the baby to the store right? It's ok if you forget something... just relax... Just remember that your baby does not care if you forgot something! Enjoy your new baby!
- I stocked up on paper plates, paper towels, plastic flatware, and plastic cups so that we didn't have to worry about doing the dishes for a week or two. What about deodorant? I didn't see that on your list, in case you're running low. :o)
- If you're using the diaper genie, you'll need refills for that (or scented diaper bags if not). Also, don't forget to stock your freezer up with ready to heat meals, frozen bread & muffins, etc. You'll also want a to stock up on breast milk bags if planning on pumping or formula. Sponges & bottle brushes are great to have as well. And tissues. And of course all the baby stuff.
- Light bulbs, fabric softener, long overnight maxi pads (for the bleeding right after you have your baby), kitchen sponges, shaving gel...otherwise, I think you have just about everything listed that the average household uses. I'm not too sure what you need the petroleum jelly for...you're not likely to use it for the baby. Here are some things you'll need for the baby that you might not have thought of: infant tylenol, infant ibuprofen, baby toothpaste (the toddler one is the same but a bigger tube for a lower price), nasal aspirator (get the one with the fat tip that comes apart to wash it) and saline nasal drops, infant gas drops, diaper rash ointment. Don't stock up on baby shampoo or diaper wipes yet...just buy one of each, because you don't want to end up with a lot if your baby turns out to be allergic to them. Diapers are the same way...it's possible for one brand to give your baby a rash, or to leak, or to smell so terrible you can't stand it, so don't buy a whole bunch until you know what works for your little one...and even then, keep in mind that they grow fast.
- Easy to make meals, daiper cream, baby washcloths, breast pads and lanolin cream or some kind of breast cream, I needed it and it really helps, bottled water or things to drink, breastfeedings mothers need a lot of fluids, and stock up on diapers, you will always need lots of those. Good Luck!
- you're too funny :) enjoy your baby....
