Diapers Q&A

How old was your baby when you could stop carrying a diaper bag everywhere you go?

  1. 2 when they were potty trained. No more DIAPER bag !
  2. 2-3
  3. When they are potty trained, then you dont have to carry around the diaper bag. When they are in diapers, you should always have diapers with you. Once they get older, the bag is good for things such as snacks, juices and toys, but it is not a real necessity anymore.
  4. when he was about 1 or so unless we were going out for a long time.....when he was about 1 i used to leave 1 huggies and a sm pkt of wipes in the bottom of my handbag and then i didnt have to take that huge bag....and i did miss having a grown up handbag to
  5. She's 2 and we still carry it everywhere, and will until she's at least potty trained. Possibly later, for snacks, extra clothes, etc.
  6. I never have.... my handbag is just big enough for my phone, camera, lip gloss, keys, half a packet of wipes, 2 nappies, and a change of clothes for her.... i find thats all we need when out. If we're going for a few hours, i'll just squeeze in a couple more nappies....
  7. I have a three year old that almost four. I still carry his diaper bag with me. He still wears diapers. Also he has bm alot. And we have doctor appointment that an hour drive. I still carry mine but at times I have it but it in the car. I like to keep the diaper bag in car incase I stay at my grandma that he diapers. But hoping soon he be interested in potty training. But I would still carry incase he had accident..
  8. When they were potty trained, I went to a smaller bag for toys, sippy cups, band-aids and the what-not stuff.
  9. I stopped carrying a diaper bag when my daughter was about 18 months. I just threw 2-3 diapers and a to-go thing of wipes in my purse, made sure she had a full sippy cup and we were good to go. I no longer had to bring along an extra pair of clothes and all the other extras, depending on where we were going and how long we would be gone of course.
  10. I breastfeed, so I only ever need a couple of extra diapers, wipes and a mat to change him on. I never needed a big bag of stuff.
  11. Six months old. I couldn't wait to get rid of the diaper bag (even though it was a nice designer one). I hated carrying such a huge bag that I really didn't need 95% of the time we went out. I kept extra diapers and a container of wipes in my car, so we had them when we needed them, and I had one diaper and some wipes in the back pocket of his stroller. If we were going someplace where we were going to be inside for a long time, I might still bring the diaper bag, but that was very rare.
  12. Call me the overprepared mom, but my youngest is 3 1/2 and I still carry a small backpack with a change of clothes and light snacks and child size utensils in case we go out to eat. When each of my kids turned 2, they were given a roll-away backpack so they could carry their OWN stuff. They loved them because it made them feel like big boys! And people thought it was cute to see little ones dragging a backpack behind them.
  13. Approximately 2 years old.Actually, the day time wear stopped around 18 mths, after the advent of potty training. But night time wear went on for 6mths more.Ofcourse, there were lots of spills after that.
  14. I think it is always a good idea to carry a diaper bag until your child is potty trained. It would depend on where you are going, how long you will be gone, and how big your purse is. If I am just running to the store I will stick a diaper in my purse. If I am going to be gone for several hours I bring one with. My son is 10 months old and is eating most table foods and goes longer without a bottle, so I don't have to bring as much anymore. Once your child is on regular food and off of formula you could probably swing not bringing one.
  15. Still have mine (my daughter is 16 months), but it's a really nice large multipurpose bag I use as a purse as well. :) Even though she doesn't use as many diapers per day as when she was a newborn, I always carry wipes, hand sanitizer (in case of a poopy diaper and no bathrooms in sight!), some books or toys, her sippy cup and some snacks. I can see myself carrying this even after I stop needing an actual diaper bag, since it's so nice!
  16. My son is 11 months old, and we've never actually carried his diaper bag EVERYWHERE we go. Even from day one if we were just running into the store I would leave it in the car. It really wasn't too bad since I just needed to make sure that he had a clean diaper before we left to go shopping. As he got older we started taking in a toy with us to keep him occupied. For trips to church and to his sitters we downsized his bag at about 8 months. It was at the point where we didn't use most of the stuff in there. Now I have a purse that I keep a couple of diapers, travel wipes, a few toys, and some snacks in. It has mesh pockets on the sides so I can stick his sippy in there as well. I still keep our diaper bag with lots of diapers, wipes, extra formula and a sippy and a change of clothes in the car though, in case we end up being gone longer than we had planned or if he decides to spill something on his clothes.
