What is your diaper bags purpose at this point? Do you even use it anymore?
I find that I am using my daughters diaper bag less and less the older she is. For us to go out all we need is her dieppes and wipees bag with 2 diapers and wipes case. Some sort of snack, usually gerber graduate puffs; and a sippy cup. If we are heading out during/around bed time we bring jammies and a bottle, but otherwise thats it. I was planning on getting a Petunia Pickle Bottom bag for my birthday next week (I love the CAKE bags). But now I think I am going to hold off (since we are TTC again. Kamryn isnt even 12 months yet, but I feel like she dosnt need almost anything to go out. And all I can remember is up until my cousins were like 3 she carried this ugly diaper backpack FULL to the brim with crap. I wonder what she had int there? LOL. Also when you used it, did/does your diaper bag strictly function as something to carry around the baby/kids stuff in, or did you get a super cute one and use it for your bag too? Rather then carrying 2 bags, since she needs so little stuff; I have resorted to using large Coach bags for both of us. I just got the new signature stripe tote a month or two ago and I am able to fit all of my stuff in it, and when she needs stuff to go out that all fits too. Its nice just being able to add her stuff to my bag that I LOVE rather then switching back and forth ot have 2 seperate bags. OOps I got ahead of myself up there. My Aunt was the one that carried around the ugly crap filled bag until her youngest was 3 LOL. Angelbaby-man you really are prepared for ANYTHING lol. I cant be bothered with THAT much stuff. If she gets too dirty she gets naked LOL (unless its winter or cold of course). Kam is 11 months and she has been eating table food for a long time now so I dont really worry about bringing food with me, just a snack.

- I keep the diaper bag in the car, but if we are going to be gone for a very long time then I get it down, otherwise I just leave it in the car and have a few diapers in my purse and wipes and bottle.
- Sorry just sort of skimmed this whole note but the question got me right off. We had 4 kids and a few diaper bags. When the diapers were done the bags were almost literally ceremoniously burned and a celebration occurred. After alll the stuff-some very unpleasant-that was in that bag would not keep for any reason.
- well i know i have to carry a spit rag, toys, a couple changes of clothes for her, a t-shirt for daddy or i, a blanket... my LO isn't that old yet, but my nephew's diaper bags were packed similarly. and there were times when they didn't have everythign they needed. (any major spit up event made it necessary for their mom or dad to change clothes from head to foot!) oh, and i put my small purse inside her bag too, and sometimes my water bottle
- My son is 6 months and I still take his small diaper bag most everywhere we go, but it stays in the car 90% of the time. I keep extras in it . . . like extra toys, extra formula and a bottle, a change of clothes, and extra diaper and wipes. However, I bought myself a large purse and I carry his necessities in it as well. I have a couple of diapers and wipes, a rattle, a bib, a bottle, and a jar of food in there most places we go. I just like keeping the extra supplies in the car just in case.
- My daughter is 3 1/2 and I still use one. Although I have been looking for a basic bag, as opposed to still using a regular diaper bag. It makes sense for us, as she goes to the sitter everyday. Plus, I'm the kind of mom who's always prepared for anything. LOL I always carry a few outfits, extra socks and underpants, wipes in case she has an accident, a lunch bag with her lunch and snacks for the day, blanket for naptime, plus little things like tylenol and her thermometer (if she needs it away from home), her comb and extra hairbands, sunscreen, etc. I guess if she didn't go to the sitter's it would be different. If we go somewhere quick I'll just grab a smaller bag and put in the essentials. So yeah, I'm basically one of the moms like your aunt that you'd think is ridiculous! lol
- funnily enough I had to buy a new one yesterday since mine ripped. I wanted one that I could use as well, and ended up getting a bowler bag by levis. It is great it holds ALL his stuff, plus my wallet, cell and a few granola bars (for me) for when we are out and about!! There is also room in it for all his bottles. A good solution is a lululemon bag as mom can use it after for only her. I cant carry my purse any more either, it's too difficult!!
- I hate diaper bags! Thinking i would be out of the house for only 1 hour and wont need it, my 9 month old vomitted over his clothes and i had to leave and go home! Now i have to take a bag with me always but I leave it in the car and get it if I need it. Also I have a pretty diaper bag that is smaller and I carry Diapers and wipes and a bottle and a snack! Thats it......
- The only time that I used a diaper bag was when we went on long trips or if I took my baby to stay the night somewhere. I just bought a larger purse and just out her stuff in there.
- My son is 8 months old and in his diaper bag I have: 3 diapers 1 swim diaper a small wipe case **All the above is put in the foldable changing pad 1-2 outfits 3-4 bibs (he drools and spits up a lot) 1 burp cloth Bottles Formula Baby food Baby spoon A few small toys It seems like he needs a lot and most of the time all I need is my phone, keys, and wallet so they all find their way into the diaper bag as well. It would be nice to buy a really cute bag but I don't have to money for it so I make due with what I have. Growing up it always seemed like my mom had to carry all of our stuff in her purse! She had so much stuff in there but honestly at one point or another everything in there was needed!
- I use an Eddie Bauer Messenger bag. It fits all of our needs and Daddy isn't afraid to wear it if need be. I carry my wallet, the kiddo's health info and insurance cards, medicine (my daughter has allergies), first aid kit, diapers, sunscreen, wipes, snacks (for them and I, because I have low blood sugar and am pregnant) and bottled water. If we are out for longer excursions then I add in an extra outfit for the children (you never know what will happen, lol) or whatever else is needed. We did the cutsy bag when my firstborn was a baby and after going through three of them, and then carrying around stuff for two children, I said phooey and went functional. After this next baby is old enough for me to stop being a pack mule I really, really want a Queen Bee bag just for me- http://www.queenbee-creations.com/items/263. I swear a diaper will never come near it =).
- My daughter is 9 months and we still need the diaper bag if we're going to be gone for any length of time. Mine is full with diaper change supples as well as a burp cloth, an extra change of clothes, sunscreen, a hat, and lately Tylenol (since she's been teething). I imagine I'll be toting this until she's potty trained....
- At this point--19 months old--I have downsized to basically a mini beach bag that I keep 3 diapers, wipes, and a bottle of sunscreen in. I just stash it in the car, I don't carry it around with me everywhere I go.
- i have to diaper bags. When i go to visit family or friends i take the big diaper bag. So it can hold her bottle, toys, diapers, formula, wipes, extra clothes. And if i go to the store or the mall i take the small diaper bag. Just enough to hold a few diapers, wipes,a pre-made bottle and a few toys.
- This is soooo interesting!!I have 2 diaper bags..1 large one and 1 small one...If we're gonna be out the whole day, I use the large diaper bag...if we're just gonna run errands..i use the smaller one...I swear even my husband makes fun of me..he's always like-"what did u put in there anyway?" well i always bring 2 bottles, baby formula, 5 diapers, wipes, extra set of clothes, 3 bibs, 1 burp cloth, sippy cup, baby food, gerber baby snacks, blankets, toys and all sorts of baby meds like baby tylenol, baby rub even baby butt paste!!and thermometer... and i swear no matter how i try to "keep it down" i still come up with a FULL diaper bag..hahaha! i dont know..i just wanna be ready just in case of emergency... Now, i kinda ease up a bit and leave the other things in the car...but i always have a FULL diaper bag whenever we leave the house...
