Diapers Q&A

Huggies diapers?

I have two months old and have been using huggies diapers since he was born. The problem is, that he very often pees throught it - the diaper is not nearly full, but his whole back or stomach are wet. I used to be a nanny and used huggies diapers with all the infants I have taken care of and I never had this problem. We are using the right size and putting it on right {I believe} so what is the problem? Do you think pampers would be better?

  1. I had the same problem - it is positioning rather than amount. Pampers did not solve the problem. Is your baby near the top end of the weight for that size diaper? I found that switching to the next size up made a big difference (I switched to the 16-28 lb size 3 diapers at 15 lbs, even though the size 2 are for 12-18 lb babies). I also found that the Huggies Hugflex diapers are slightly better than the regular Huggies. And of course, make sure that the "faucet" is pointing down at all times! My son is now 6 1/2 months old, 19 lbs, and has wet through the diaper maybe once in the last 2 or 3 months.
  2. I used Huggiest for maybe 2 weeks. Pampers are the best. They keep everything in, with no leaks. Worth every penny.
  3. I have used both brands and each worked better at different stages. I have a 10 month old girl and she now uses Huggies size 4's. Size 3 at 19lbs started to leak. Every brand is a little different and every child is shaped a little different. Huggies works best for me now but who knows for how long. lol. If you're at the top end of the weight guidelines go up a size and see what happens.
