Diapers Q&A

What brand of cloth diapers?

do you prefer? Are the fancy, expensive ones any better than the gerber rectangle ones you use with pins and rubber pants?

  1. all in ones and all in twos are more convienient and have a better absorbancy or you can do pocket diapers wich are my faves you can stuff them as much or as little as you want. And they rarely leak through and are usually good for all sizes or you can buy from small med or large and some xlarge. go sign up and check at www.diaperswappers.com or www.gentlechristianmothers.com/mb for more information
  2. I think the Bum Genius diapers are adorable! They are all one size fits all and there are no pins involved. It uses snaps. It's just like a normal diaper but is cloth! Not too mention, they come in cute colors and styles! http://www.bumgenius.com/ I found a cloth diaper FAQ that discusses the different types of cloth diapers, and the pros and cons. http://www.naturenurture.citymax.com/page/page/5720051.htm
  3. IF you want to be cheap you can do prefold diapers, but skip the gerber brand, they are not very absorbent and will only leave you sour over cloth diapering. DSQ prefolds are cheap and readily available over the internet, usually for around a dollar a diaper. I diapered my first baby with DSQ and plastic pants for 2 years. With my second baby I decided to spoil myself and bought pocket diapers, I LOVE them, and I will not go back to disposables ever again!
  4. I have not tried the rectangle ones with pins and pants, but I do love my bumgenius pocket diapers. I love the velcro tabs and even my husband can easily put them on. (He got pretty tired of the fuzibunz when he couldn't get the snaps to line up on a rolly-polly baby.) I'll be ordering more of the 3.0 version that is one-size fits all babies.
