How much a week do you usually spend on diapers?
I'm expecting a baby in early September and my husband and I are trying to figure out expenses and all that. How much on average is average to spend on diapers per week? (depending on brand I know price varies). Those with experience would be better to answer. Thank you.

- I would factor at least $25.00 dollars a week for diapers. You can get them cheaper. I am in Canada and we spend $18.00 a week generally on Pampers at Walmart. But some weeks you will use more than others. And you should factor in wipes if you are going to use them.
- The average cost a person spends on diapers is $3000 a year. That averages out to just under $58 dollars a week. Of course if you buy the cheapy brands it should cost less.
- I buy the walmart brand and I spend about $12 a week for twins. Then I buy the boxes of the wipes for about $8 every month.
- We use pampers swaddlers.. they smell great and feel softer than any other :) They are around 10 dollars for 40. When my son was first born, we'd use around 10 diapers a day, they poop very often when they are that young.. So almost 20 dolars a week. Now he is 3 months and i change his diaper about 6 times a day.. So now it' around 10 dollars a week.
- Don't buy your diapers at target unless you are using their brand or have a coupon. If you buy their brand it will be about $15/week for a box, which a box should be good enough for a newborn for a week. Walmart brand cost about $15/week also, but their huggies box and pampers run about $20/week per box. And Luvs run about $17/week for a box at Walmart also. Your newborn will grow fast so don't buy too many newborn sizes (maybe about 2pkgs), go with size 1 to be safe, they seem to last a lot longer fit wise. And when it comes to wipes, buy the boxes that come with 5 refill packages. They cost about $8 at both Target and Walmart. And they will last you a while. Hope that helps.
- I buy my diapers and wipes in bulk. I'm not sure where you live but at BJ's a box of Huggies 230 count is $30 and a box of Huggies wipes 640 count is $14.
- You should check out 1800diapers.com. Sometimes I get my diapers for free from them b/c of their referral program! If you decide to join, you can save an extra $2 by using the code ERHA4160. I used to spend around $50 per month on diapers and wipes from their website. But, now like I said, sometimes they are totally free.
- With my first Daughter I bought her Luvs diapers from target... At most I only bought one mage pack a week but it would usually last a week and a half. If I bought a box of diapers it would last about 2 1/2 - 3 weeks. So it cost about $10- $12 a week. With my second Daughter I couldn't use pampers Huggies or Luvs with her because their is a "moisture strip" in them that holds moisture and would give her horrible diaper rashes. With my first Daughter I couldn't use Pampers or Huggies for the same reason but between the 1st and 2nd child they changed Luvs and then I couldn't use them either. So now I use generic diapers with absolutely no moisture strip. Also I changed my second child less and she just didn't seem to go as much. (#1 was breastfed #2 breast and formula) So she actually cost less because we used generic diapers and she was changed less. (Don't get me wrong, I am not one of those people with my kids running around in saggy diapers, I changed her as soon as she needed, she just didn't need it as much) My 2nd Daughter cost about $10 at the most...I know this is a lot of info but I am a thorough person :)... Also if you buy diapers by the box rather than the mega or jumbo packs they are actually cheaper per diaper... Walmart has the cheapest, then Target, then Baby R Us... I live in Texas and shop at HEB, try different kinds oin different price ranges and see what you like and what works best for you... But if you are trying to budget just say $15 a week and anything less will be a blessing!
- I use cloth diapers on my son since I'm a SAHM, and throw on a disposable at night or when I'm away from the house for an extended period of time. I buy the cheapest diapers I can find and have never had a problem with leaks (I like Wal-Mart's Parents Choice and Target's store brand). I mega pack usually lasts me about 2-3 weeks, which translates to about a few dollars a week spent on diapers. If you have the patience for cloth diapers, and stay at home (I'm sure caregivers frown upon dealing with cloth diapers), then you should try them... you'll save a TON of money!!
- If you have a Sam's club around you, I would highly suggest getting a membership there. I get diapers and wipes there about 1 time every 2 months. The box of diapers I get is 200ct for $35 and I get a big box of wipes for about $12. I really found it's the best way to go, even if you have to pay for the membership. There's tons of other goodies there too that I get for the baby.
- The smaller the diaper the more you get for your money so it really does vary as far as how much per week that you spend. Right now, my baby is 2 and a half and I buy pampers. I get 52 diapers in a pack and change him often. I spend 17.47 per package and have to buy a package about every 8 days. Hope this gives you an idea. Generally, in the beginning you want to figure about 10-12 diapers per day just to be safe. The size 1 diapers in pampers usually hold about 112 diapers and at 12 per day the package would last you about 9 days. You may use less diapers then that per day but it is better to have more then to not have enough. Good luck and I hope this helps you.
- We use pampers and buy the large two pack box at wal-mart for $20. With our two babies we go through half of that box a week. And there's 104 in there.I also buy the wipes every 3-4 weeks in bulk at wal-mart, the parents' choice brand for $9. So I'd say you're going to go through roughly $10 a week but for a newborn they poop like every time they eat practically so you'll go through a few more than that until baby gets himself or herself regulated and on a schedule.
- I buy Huggies at Shoppers Drug Mart for $21.99. My son wears a size 3, which has 54 diapers in it. I buy about 2-3 a month. He has just started solids, so is only having 2-3 small bowel movements a day. I'm sure older kids go through more diapers. My advice is to wait for a sale, then stock up. Shoppers usually has Huggies and Pampers on sale for $15.99 at least 8 times a year. I buy 4 packs of my son's current size, and that will last me at least long enough for the next sale, if not longer.
- I am having my baby in about 2 weeks and after not having to buy diapers for about 5 years I am shocked at HOW MUCH IT COSTS! i already signed up for as many coupons as possible.. go to huggies .com, and pampers.com and if you make a baby registry at target they will send you lots of great coupons for diapers and wipes!
- I buy a package of mega Huggies every other week. Where I live they cost $17.99. You will need to budget more for diapers in the beginning because you change a newborns diaper every 2 - 3 hours!
- 1st of all DON'T bother with pampers or huggies. I've got 3 kids, ages 9, 6 and 7months. My first daughter I bought only Pampers, second Huggies. So much more expensive! LUVS!LUVS!LUVS! I buy the mega pack for $15-$18 depending what size (newborn diapers are a little more) and it lasts about 3 weeks!! Luvs are great because they never leak at night, when they're crawling, never. Much cheaper and work just the same. I bought 2 packs of the Newborn Pampers swadlers for the 1st 2 weeks cause I have smaller babies and they fit well then. But after that only LUVS and I spend about $20 a month!
- I only buy diapers once a month I get the big box ct 160 size 3 pampers.that box lasts me a month & half so I really only spend about $40/monthly on diapers u should look into buying in bulk
- I save a bit more by waiting til the diaper is somewhat full, instead of changing it constantly. (Unless they pooped that is.) But for us, it's about $20-25 every two weeks. I would buy in bulk which would save a lot more, but my son outgrows diapers like nothing ..Which means we spend a few dollars more for the smaller counts. & I still have a box of diapers that my son outgrew that we never got to use! Man!
- For not so expensive diapers it cost like 23 to 24pesos for every 4 pcs of diapers in a pack. Let say 10 packs per week. That would be around 240 pesos per week. For expensive diapers like pampers it would cost like 270 pesos per week.
