Diapers Q&A

Huggies Diapers vs Pampers Swaddlers?

Which one is best to use? If I use the swaddlers, how much should my baby weigh to wear size 1? size 2? Thanks everyone for the answers! 22 wks & 6 days pregnant w/ baby #1

  1. cloth are best
  2. I prefer the Pampers diapers over Huggies...they just fit my kids better. The weight range is on the packaging. www.pampers.com www.huggies.com
  3. i personally like huggies. the swaddlers always leaked through with my little girl..
  4. huggies are a timeless classic
  5. huggies all the wayy!
  6. we used Costco brand..
  7. this depends on your baby. huggies are very narrow which is wonderful for smaller or skinner babies. pampers are a bit wider in the crotch so there is more bulk etc etc......Both are good diapers, huggies worked better for my girl but pampers works for others. Its gonna be one of those things you trial and error it.
  8. I preferred swaddlers. The huggies left little strings around my son's privates. Pampers Sizes (huggies may be a little different): Newborn: up to 10lbs 1: 8-14lbs 2: 12-18lbs 2-3: 14-22lbs
  9. It doesnt have much to do with weight, its all about shape and size of the baby. My son wears 3's, even though he's heavy enough for 4's. He wore a bigger size before he was heavy enough when he was younger. I used swaddlers for newborns, and then huggies supremes after that. Regular huggies are better than anything else, but the supremes are best. Ive never had a leak through in public, and only a very few times over night.
  10. Pampers Swaddlers are usually the best in my opinion. As for the size, generally they start off in the smallest when they are born. As soon as those get tight, move up to the next size. They also put the weights on the package to help.
  11. Huggies.
  12. pampers fit my son best. buy a small package of both, because one may not work and you might have to try the other. my son was small (6lbs 10oz) but pampers swaddlers newborn (up to 10lbs) did not fit him, he leaked right through. the size 1 fit much better (8lbs - 16lbs). just buy small packages, or visit the websites for pampers and huggies to get samples!!
  13. my sister prefers huggies theres more to um
  14. the diaper packages say the weight limit on them newborn - 6-10lbs 1 - 8-14lbs 2 - 12-18lbs 3 - 16-28lbs 4 - 22-37lbs 5 - 30+ i use huggies because they seem to fit my son better. he's 6months old and wearing number 2.
  15. I used Pampers, Huggies give my children rashes. Newborn is good for up to 2 weeks if your baby is not too big, I would say like up to 9 lb, then size 1 swaddlers are like for next 6 weeks up to like 11 lb, then size 2 for up to 14 pounds. You can go up to the next size before your baby is up to the weight on the package. Size 3 custom cruisers last a while, they are for 16-28 pounds, so good for like 4-12 months or so. I would suggest buying 2-3 jumbo packs of newborn size, 4-5 size 1, then 6 packs of size 2 before your baby is even born, that way you do not run out !! 2 of my babies were very fussy, one drop of pee and they would scream that they were wet, so I went through more for them than for my other 2 children. Also get 2 cases (5 or 6 pack) of wipes ahead too, you will use them. Some newborns poop 8 times a day esp. if they are breastfed. Good luck!
  16. Swaddlers! Those always fit my daughter better. We had a lot more leaks with the Huggies. She is tall and thin, though, so that may be a part of the problem. They sell the Swaddlers in bulk for a pretty cheap price at Super Target. The weights, etc, are listed on the packages. But something you might want to do is to buy one package of each kind and make that decision on your own. We tried to be prepared, and bought a bunch of Huggies ahead of time, and we ended up giving them away because I really disliked them so much. Just a thought - if you're planning ahead, maybe buy some gift cards to go towards your diapers, ahead of time, instead of the diapers. Good luck!
  17. HUGGIES DIAPERS
  18. I have a 4 month old boy. I like both. I like swaddlers better because they absorb the runny poo better. My baby was 6lb 6oz at birth and had to use premie swaddlers for about a month or so. Then size Newborn then 1, now is in a size 2. The weight does matter, but it really depends on the baby's shape. Mine was tall and thin, so although he weighed more when he was older, he still needed little diapers because he was thin. Now he is chubby and probably is about to be in the Crusiers.
  19. Based on my experience - I've tried everything - I would say Pampers, Luvs (Proctor and Gamble products) are the best. The sizing is listed on every package so you will be able to tell what size you need. The size variations are usually the height of the diaper if that makes sense. Good luck.
  20. I used swaddlers on my baby. They work great. I never bought huggies. To me they were too expensive for the same thing that Luvs can do. My daughter is 2 now..... but I would go with Swaddlers. The diaper packs will tell you the weight the baby should be between to fit the diapers. The hospital will probably fit the baby in the "newborn" size first. My baby was born at 5 lbs 12 oz and she started in the "preemie" diapers. My daughter is small for 2 years old and she's in a size 4 diaper now. So, check out the weight recommendations on the diaper packs at the store.
  21. I use Swaddlers and they work awesome. You'll find though come a few weeks old, it's not gunna matter what brand you use. Lol.
  22. We found that the Swaddlers worked best for the first 2-3 weeks after our sons were born. After that we started having problems with them leaking for some reason. After trying different brands, we like the Huggies better than any other one we tried. The Supremes seemed to fit just a little better, but the regular Huggies are good too, and you get more for the money. We rarely have any leaks at all with them.
  23. Id say the swaddlers because your baby is just being born , under any other circumstances I would say the cheapest ones :O) Good Luck & Congratulations!!!
  24. Huggies For sure . That is all my son wears , he is 17 lbs and wears size 3
  25. pampers
