Bum Genius cloth diapers- How to use the snap insert? How to wash 1st time?
I just got my bumgenious cloth diapers in the mail. THey came with two inserts. One has snaps and one does not. I can't figure out how to use them. I don't see any snaps on the diapers? How do I use them? How do I wash them the first time and should I wash them more than once before use? Thanks! Is there a certain type of detergent I should use for the cloth diapers?

- The snaps are so you can shorten the insert if you have a smaller baby. It folds over and snaps to itself not the shell. The shell also snaps to itself in order to make a smaller diaper for younger babies. My son is 14 months and I no longer snap it shorter. As for washing, wash the shell with the velcro attached in cold water and then hang to dry. The inserts you can wash in hot water and dryer dry.....just don't use fabric softner since it lowers the absorbancy. I just use the free and clear stuff from Costco or All
