Does anyone make their own cloth diapers?
Okay my daughter is allergic to disposable diapers. Does anyone have any advice on how to make my own cloth diapers? What fabric should I use? How do I start? I am completely clueless. I can't afford what people want for the cloth diapers so I would like to try and make my own. Please help.

- I'm planning on making them here soon...I've marked the site http://www.diapersewing.com/quick_%20and_%20easy.htm
- Flannel is good, or old t-shirts maybe. Make prefolds if you want it to be easy. Can you knit? Find an online pattern for soakers as a cover. You know prefolds are $2.00 each, right? Not nearly as much as disposables but yeah it's an investment at first.
- http://www.diaperjungle.com/sewing-cloth-diapers.html I've only made one myself, but the only reason I stopped at one is because I don't have a sewing machine and I had to do it all by hand. I have a lot more respect for our foremothers who sewed all of their family's clothes by hand! Hemp is probably the most absorbent fabric, but it's expensive and it's pretty rough. You can use cotton for the diaper and have two or three layers of hemp in the wet zone, sandwiched between the soft cotton. It doesn't take much hemp to make a diaper super absorbent. BTW, have you looked at the FSOT at http://www.diaperswappers.com and http://www.diapertraders.com for used diapers for sale? Good luck!
