Diapers Q&A

Has anyone experienced anything unusual when using Huggies diapers on a newborn boy?

I used Pampers on my newborn for two months then recently switched to Huggies because that is what the had at Costco. One morning when changing my baby's diaper I noticed red smudges in the crotch area of the diaper. I immediately called nurse advice and ended up taking him to urgent care. Turns out there is no urinary tract infection and no blood in his urine. I still cannot figure out where this pink to sometimes dark orange stain is coming from. If I put vasaline on his wee wee there is no stain, but if I leave him dry there is always some sign of blood. I've inspected his area thoroughly and I see no sign of a cut or irritation. Anyone??

  1. i dont care for huggies, everytime i tried them my daughter got diaper rash.
  2. I'm using Huggies right now(my baby boy will be 7 weeks on Friday) and haven't noticed anything to be wrong with them and Noah seems to be fine as well.
  3. SOMET BABIES HAVE TO USE CERTAIN DIAPERS...I TRIED THE CHEAP ONES AT FIRST...NONE OF MY KIDS COULD USE THEM.. 1st baby . pampers only all others would give her a severe rash 2nd baby pampers only all others gave her rash 3rd baby huggies only others would give him a rash 4th baby huggies only..rash was severe with others..
  4. He could be having some sort of a reaction to it. Where I work we only use Huggies because it's geared for kids with sensitive skin and haven't had any issues, but he could just have a reaction to it.
  5. he may be allergic to them. go back to the pampers if you didnt have a problem with them.
  6. i use luvs with my baby boy all other diapers leaked the other dipers would probably be better for girls because they have more padding in the middle and i found luvs to have padding in the front.
  7. for both of my boys i swore by huggies! everything eles just seemd to leak and huggies seem to fit better on the little boys
  8. we experienced a similar situation when we tried huggies on our son. we stopped using them and only used pampers. whne our daughter came, we used pampers and then 1 time bought huggies because we were at costco - and she developed a huge rash. went back to pampers and we have never had another problem. also, I could not use the store brands on either of my kids - they both got rashes. Pampers only for us! good luck - i would switch back
  9. thats odd!!! i use pampers cruisers for my son and never had a problem
  10. I used huggies with my first and she got an allergic reaction to them so I stopped using them and switched to white cloud, same thing happened when I had my son, I got a bag at my baby shower so decided to use them and he got the same rash, I stopped using them and got Luvs and he has never gotten that rash again. I do not like huggies brand no matter how well known they are. Try pampers or Luvs. Good luck
  11. go back to pampers and if he dosent have the problem, he is just having a reaction to the huggies. The only problems I have ever had with huggies, other than the price, was sometimes they didnt have any absorbancy things in them and my daughters leaked bad. never had any reaction, but its possible.
