Diapers Q&A

Are Luvs Brand Diapers Any Good?

I LOVE pampers diapers, but for someone on a tight budget and payes taxes they are just flat out unaffordable, lol... I purchased Berkley and Jensen Brand and they are horrible, he pees right through them... But LUVS seem to be reasonably priced....are they any good? Thanks. ***He is 4 months old. not sure who is giving the thumbs down, it isn't me... I really appreciate all of your advice, thanks!

  1. I used Luvs for a while with my daughter and really liked them! Then even used Target brand and like them!
  2. We've been using Luv's diapers for quite some time and have been very happy with them. I think a lot depends on how your child is built - some diapers just fit better than others! Try buying a small package of them first, to try them out!
  3. i used luvs for my daughter and i actually found them to be more absorbant and a better fit than pampers.
  4. Luvs are great, and they are stretchy now too! They remind me a lot of Pampers now that they have stretch! You can always find coupons for them too!
  5. I dont like them...they leak and give her rash.....to each their own...my kids use pampers
  6. I love LUVS. I used them for my daughter because some of the baby shaped fits of the huggies and pampers didn't work really well for her but LUVS worked fantastic! I believe they're made by pampers anyhow. I have zero complaints about them! I love them! My son has been using them for 6 months now and again, no problems. You can also go to www.luvs.com and register for coupons on their website. You can do it with huggies and pampers too and maybe if they send you a good enough coupon you can splurge but I've found that LUVS do the trick for us! Lots of luck!!
  7. I hated Luvs! They didn't strech at all. They were also not very soft. If your used to Pampers (like I was) then you'll probably hate them. They did hold leaks in though. I have to give them that. Just buy a pack and try them for yourself!
  8. I love the Luvs! I also started out with pampers. They are too expensive and my daughter became allergic to them. I tried every kind of diaper there is and have found that Luvs are the best value and the best diaper. I haven't had one leak since we used them. With pampers and huggies we always had leaks. Good luck.
  9. I also love pampers, but to expensive. My daughter couldn't use the Luvs brand, they gave her diaper rashes. Just buy a small pack and see how he does with them. My cousin uses Luvs for her son and doesn't have a problem with them. CVS store brand is a good store brand diaper and so is Costco's own brand.
  10. I hate luvs I like you had to think about switching brands because as a single mother money can be tight. I used luvs first and they gave my daughter a diaper rash and they leaked every where! I mean omg everywhere. people who use luvs all the time think that leaks are normal but when you use pampers on a regular basis you know better. after the luvs I went with huggies and I hated those to so I went back to pampers. all of the mom's I know agree pampers are best and luvs are the worst. when my daughter was born I asked my mother what brand was best and she said pampers
  11. Yes, they are fine. I really like Parents Choice you can buy at walmart and they are even cheaper then luv. THey have a very good stretch
  12. Yes, they are. I used them at first, I switched to Huggies later only because of the stretchy waistband. It annoyed me when other people changed my daughter that they would either do it too tight or too loose, so I liked the stretchy waistband cuz it solved that problem. I also tried the Parents Choice ones from Walmart, and wouldn't recommend them to anyone (except maybe my worst enemy!). Luvs worked for us for the time that we used them.
  13. I used them for awhile because they are cheaper than pampers and huggies. But I kept having the same problem with them... the sides would split leading to them leaking all that gel crap thats inside! made a huge mess in my house. My son was running around with this stuff poring out of his diaper! This happened on several occasions! Nothing beats Pampers!! its worth the extra couple bucks!
  14. My daughter leaked when I used Luvs.  She also got a diaper rash when I tried Luvs, and she hasn't had a rash or leak since I switched back to pampers. Babies R Us sells big boxes of Pampers and will often have a $5 off coupon for the larger packages of Pampers.  I found that they are more affordable in the big packages and when I use coupons.  Huggies aren't bad, and there are almost always coupons for huggies in the newspapers or online.
  15. I HATED LUVS!! They did not fit my son in the size he was wearing and wouldn't stretch! I use Huggies. Thats the only ones i put him in because they stretch out more so he can stay in the smaller size longer! And are they same as the pampers but with more stretch in the sides. The luvs always leaked and i just didnt like them. Just get some coupons online for pampers or huggies, You get what you pay for!! I have to buy the better ones cause my son is 34 lbs and 14 months old! it helps to be able to strech out the sizes so we dont just trash what we already bought.
  16. im using them right now due to tight budget as well they are not horrible if you change them quite offten other wise my daughter leaks through them last night i had to go change her diaper 4 times in the middle of the night so she didnt go through them!! But a good cheap brand that i have loved since birth is wal mart brand called parents choice
  17. I highly recomend luvs. I have tried lots of brands on my daughter and they all leaked but luvs was the best by far. I've tried huggies, pampers, pampers swadlers, parrents choice, white cloud, and some FMV brand I found at Dillions. But since I started using luvs on her it's the only brand i'll buy.
  18. if you get the "bear hug" stretchy kind they are pretty good. (better than huggies, imo. huggies tabs seem to tear off easy, a few packages of huggies that i got were faulty or something, one tab was split halfway thru on most of the diapers & would break easily as well-had to throw a bunch of them away unused) i got a lot of luvs for my baby shower, most were NOT the stretchy kind, and i HATED them!! but the "bear hug" luvs weren't bad at all.
  19. I LOVE LUVS! my son leaked out of huggies and pampers all the time. I bought luvs which are way cheaper for many more diapers! They fit him perfect and he has NEVER leaked out of them. I have been using them since I ran out of the others at about 1.5 months. Love them. Def try them. I know that Proctor and Gamble make both pampers and luvs. But some diapers just fir babies diff. But try them out, you'll prob love them and also get a big $ discount! good luck
  20. I LOVE THEM. They are the only ones i have ever bought. My daughter has no problem never has leaks or anything. When she wakes up in the morning the diaper is super full since she doesn't wake up in the middle of the night. Never sprang a leak.
  21. I never had used them before until the other day. I was short on cash in the store and saw a pack of Luvs for like $3 dollars cheaper than Pampers or Huggies brand. I decided to try them and they are just as awesome! I like them a lot and I haven't had ANY trouble with leaks since I bought them. I will continue to buy them. They are stretchy and soft too, which was my biggest concern.
  22. I have used Luvs almost exclusively for both of my kids with a couple of pampers and generics thrown in occasionally when I can't find the large packs of 2's or someone else (like the husband) buys diapers. The only down side that I have found is that I can't find size 2 packs larger than 50 anywhere in my local area except for an occasional Target here or there. I have had no problems with leaks with Luvs. The only concern that I have found with my son is that I have to make sure that they come up high enough on his fat little tummy to make it so he can't pee out the top, but I think you are going to have that with any brand EDIT: if cost is another issue (they are much cheaper than pampers or huggies) but if you go to luvs.com and register, they'll send you coupons
