Luvs and a diaper rash?
So my husband and I bought a box of Luvs diapers after using Pampers for the first 8 months. My son got his first diaper rash about a week or so ago and I have been gobbing on A&D cream but it doesn't seem to work. Just two days ago I bought Pampers again because he never got a diaper rash with Pampers. Now two days later his diaper rash is healing very well and I haven't been using A&D cream. Is it possible that it was just the Luvs diapers causing the rash?

- I had the exact same experience when I switched my son from Huggies to Luvs. The excess amount of maternial covering the elastic rubs his inner legs and buttocks and he cannot wear Luvs.
- yes, It was the opposite for me. Pampers caused the diaper rash. Dr. told me it is the stuff they use to absorb wetness. Stick to the one that doesn't cause rashes.
- Yes definitely. Next time he gets a rash just try vaseline..works wonders.
- Same thing happened with two of my kids, neither could use the Luvs diapers. Make sure you tell hubby what to buy next time!
- That is definetly possible. Just stick with the brand you feel the most comfortable with. Also next time your son gets a diaper rash try Butt Paste, greatest thing in th world!
- Luvs has some kind of blue dye in their diaper that may be breaking out your son. Many babies have sensitive skin and break out from Luvs. I would stick to the Pampers...they are the best diaper out there!
- yes it can be from the luvs my son had the same thing but with pampers
- Yes. Huggies and Pampers all give my son a rash. We had to switch to Seventh Generation diapers, and the rash was gone right away and has never come back. I didn't even try Luvs because they are so heavily perfumed.
- yea its possible the luvs did it he could be allergic to them.....I personally have never had a problem with loves and really like them....but some kids get allergic.....the only way to know for sure is to try another batch of luvs.....if want...also butt paste is great for rashes!
- Yes it is possible. Disposable diapers have a chemical that keeps baby dry. It could very well be that your baby is allergic to the chemical that luvs put's into their diapers. My oldest daughter was allergic to Huggies diapers...she would get a rash so bad she would SCREAM for days and it would be beet red. Needless to say I only purchased Huggies once.
- Could be. My sister-in-law can only use Huggies with my niece.
