- Pampers makes a sensitive skin wipe, but if your baby's skin appears to be very sensitive, just clean him off with a damp washcloth.
- He could be allergic to the plastic in the diapers, my husband was. So his mother had to put him in cloth diapers, and all the rashes and everything went away. I would ask your doctor about it:)
- Ugh. My twins were like this. Did you try some baby powder or any of those lotions? There are some really good ones on the market. If that didn't work, you'll have to move to old fashion cloth diapers and wipes, unfortunately. Some babys just have extra sensitive bottoms
- My son has sensitive skin, and what really made a difference was switching to cloth. Cloth diapers and cloth wipes. He has not had a rash since. It really is not that much work, and think about the good you are doing, not only for your child's skin, but for the environment and your budget as well! http://www.diaperpin.com
- this may not be of much help, but i just saw in babies'r'us, a new line of diapers, wipes, etc. that are chlorine free....maybe you could give them a try! good luck!
- my son is allergic to all wipes except pampers sensitive. you just have to do trial and error. i have heard the seventh generation diapers work well on sensitive bottoms
- Pampers makes some sensitive ones also you could just use a wash cloth instead.
- My son had to wear cloth diapers. It's really not as hard as it seems. And it is worth little one not having a sore bottom!
- i don't know about the diapers but with my cousins we would buy the sensitive wipes and rinsed them [the wipes] off before we used them. Also if you use cloth diapers and wash them twice one with soap and one without it could help.
- My son has actually developed an allergy to baby wipes and I have had to change to Pampers or Huggies Sensitive. Also, there is an all natural wipe and chlorine free diaper that I have seen at our local Ingles. At times I have to stop baby wipes all together and used warm water and a washcloth or paper towel to clean him off. I have also started coating him with either Aquaphor or Desitin every time I change him and I have noticed a HUGE difference. Also found this site that has Hypoallergenic Diapers. Best of luck.
- I know that Pampers makes some wipes for sensitive skin, I guess that Huggies probably does as well. However, your best bet would be cloth diapers and wipes. Modern day cloth diapers are no more difficult to use than disposable ones-there is no folding and pinning like cloth diapers of generations past. They are shaped like disposables and have velcro and/or snaps. You can purchase disposable liners in them so that you toss out most of the soil and do not have to deal with it. Cloth wipes are just as easy to use. I hope you find something that works for him!
- The baby might be allergic to diapers and you may need to try cloth diapers. Do you use A&D ointment? Trying different ointments may help. Instead of using baby wipes, use a warm wet paper towel. They serve the same purpose and you won't have to spend money on wipes anymore. (and you already buy paper towels!) If nothing works, consult the doctor!
- My daughter is allergic to everything, but she was at a really great hospital in Dec and they had organic and chemical free wipes available and she reacted awesome to them(rash cleared up) by the way we had to switch to Huggies Natural fit diapers! they worked great, but anyways the wipes are.....believe it or not... walmart brand parents choice! and they are affordable, they come in a case of I think 4 packs for 5.97!! They are made from organic cotton and have virtually no nothing in them! Try them and I hope they work for your little one, and this way you arent breaking your bank either!! Another solution we used to use before we forund the wiped from walmart, was to go to the drug store and by 4x4 gauze cloth and we would wet them and use them, because like your lil one the wiped tore her bottom up!! GOOD LUCK!! One other thing when we switched to the huggies natural fit we went up one size, and we put vaseoline on her with EVERY diaper change to keep stuff off of her!
- I like Huggies natural wipes (no alcohol or fragrance), but I don't know of diapers (I use huggies and pampers) having a sensitive skin selection. Good luck,
- Try looking for diapers and wipes that are unscented. My son was the same way, I ended up having to use the store brand diapers, they were unscented and unscented wipes. Try finding some that states that they are hypo-allergenic. The elastic bands around the legs are great but holds in moisture even if they are dry, babies sweat, so try finding some without the elastic in the leg area. I'm not sure if they even make them any more. My son is now 30, so I can't really tell you the brands, just suggestions on what to look for. Have you ever tried using Vaseline on the areas that break out most? It would help keep the moisture away and probley help with the irritant from the scents by not letting the diaper lay directly on the bare skin. Good luck and leave the diaper just pulled up between the legs and not fastened,as much as you can, the air will aide in the healing process. Again good luck
- Yes, you can use cloth diapers. Don't worry, they are much better today than when our parents or grandparents used them. Many cloth diaper options are just as easy to put on as disposables. For wipes, you can just use a washcloth or any soft cloth with water only on it. If you prefer disposable wipes, you can cut a roll of paper towels in thirds and make your own solution to put on them. I use only water now, but when I used solution I used 2 cups water, 1 tablespoon baby wash and an optional 1 tablespoon oil.
- my son has sensitive skin & eczema. I use Huggies Supreme wipes with him & have had no problems. He broke out with the ones with the cucumber in them (and they smelled so good!). I also use Huggies diapers.
