Diapers Q&A

Newborn Diapers...Huggies vs. Pampers...what's your opinion?

Please explain your opinion. I am trying to pick between the two and would like some help.

  1. I actually used newborn Luvs. They always worked ok for us when we were just starting out. The only reason I switched to Huggies later was for the stretchier waistband that Luvs didn't have. Luvs are made by Pampers, but they are a bit cheaper.
  2. Pampers, between those 2 but I personally liked luvs
  3. Huggies, by far. They fit better and they don't leak! Those are the only reasons I needed to keep buying them for my son.
  4. PAMPERS, I have had two kids and they work great. I am pregnant now and plan on only using pampers, I really like the wipes too. For some reason I really never cared for huggies, but everyone is different you might try them both and choose which you prefer.
  5. Neither. Go with "Seventh Generation," which has no advertising printed on it (sorry, "licensed characters"), and no smell. Heaven knows why anybody wants to take something as perfect-smelling as a newborn baby and slap a vulgarly scented "Pampers" on it... "Seventh Generation" diapers are also quite soft. The wipes are a million times better than other ones, too.
  6. Definitely pampers. They just fit my girls so well. And I've preferred Pampers all along the way, even up to age 3! My girls have small waists, and big thighs, so the diapers really fit their little bodies. Goodluck!
  7. My mom has 3 kids and Im having my first in march a baby boy. When I started shopping for diapers my mom had got me hooked on pampers. She had made me smell the difference. Pampers has a more baby smell where huggies she said you have to try harder to make your baby smell like baby. She is a massive obsessor when it comes to making your baby smell clean and things and whe I bought pampers they do smell good I have them all stocked up in my closet and the smell fill the air it already smells like my son is here
  8. pampers swaddlers, they go up to size 2 they are soft and stretchy and work well
  9. depends on the baby. All diapers but Huggies leaked on my baby, so I use Huggies. For wipes I really don't care, they all do the same.
  10. I LOVE pampers swaddlers. I did not like huggies cause they always leaked or tore or something on me. I have used pampers sice my daughter was born, and she is almost 19 months old now. Definetly pampers!
  11. huggies are good, but sinse I have twins I love saving lol I buy the target brand they are really good and less expensive too
  12. Huggies. Pampers have this weird smell to them, plus my daughter breaks out with this moist red rash everytime she has pampers on. With Huggies, she has never leaked, and she can fit in the same size longer. The only downside is that they have Winnie the Pooh all over them, and I despise Winnie the Pooh!LOL
  13. Seventh Generation!!!! They are better for baby AND the earth, and they are quite comparable in price.
  14. My mom has had three kids. Two boys and one girl. I'm going to have a baby soon. Her word of advice was that Huggies fit boys best, while Pampers fit girls best.
  15. I use Pampers. Consumer Reports listed Pampers baby dry as having excellent leak protection and excellent design. I would have to agree.
  16. Pampers Swaddlers worked best for both babies I nannied for. They stretch in the most ways. My advice is to buy one package of each kind and see what works best for your baby (if you are having one)! Good luck and be sure to sign up at each diaper sight for coupons!
  17. It's been several years now since my son was in diapers, but I always bought either Huggies or Luvs. Pampers are overpriced and horrible compared to others. I always felt they were no better than the generic diapers, except they were much more expensive. Huggies were great because they stretched and were more comfortable. We had a lot less problems with those. Luvs were also great....much cheaper than Huggies, but the only drawback was that they didn't stretch as much. My son was also incredibly allergic to the Pampers (and also allergic to diaper rash medicine), so that's the best reason for Huggies. I've never known anyone who's baby broke out using them.
  18. Personally for us we really like pampers swaddlers (we haven't gotten past size 2 yet, but they do have up to size 2-3) They have worked great for my son, every other brand of diaper has leaked and we have had many poopy outfits as a result. It really all depends on the baby though, you're going to find most likely that you will have to try a couple different brands to find the one that will work the best for your baby! Good Luck! Congratulations.
  19. Pampers...idk...a better brand?
  20. I'm in canada, so I use the Teddy's Choice brand. but if I had to choose out of huggies or pampers, I would choose pampers. fit better and had a lovely baby smell to them.
  21. i have always used huggies. i have done alot of child care and some moms used pampers but most huggies. i used them with my kids and grandkids. they just seem to fit alot better and less leaks!! but for you maybe you should try both and see what you prefer!!!
  22. I prefer Huggies over Pampers. Honestly, as long as they fit properly (don't go by the size on the box) they both should work against leakage. Huggies has a little seam on the back that seems to prevent overflow out of the top rear (Nice eh?) As well as extra-stretchy seams along the legs. I prefer the feel of Huggies to Pampers- Pampers feel more plastic-y. Both brands fit smaller that the upper weight limits allow, but I think Huggies fit my big-butted baby better. Try a few and see what'cha like. Both big brands offer coupons on their respective websites. Besides Raising Arizona says it all.
  23. I've been using pampers swaddlers since the day my baby was born and haven't used any other onces since. They are very flexible and they don't leak. I've also used pampers flexible, they are just as good. Pampers also had different stages. I also use the pampers sensitive wipes. They also have different stages for it too, like when they start eating solid foods and baby foods, they have thicker ones.
  24. They put my 8lb newborn in Pampers size 1 at the hospital & that's what I continued to use. I did try huggies & luvs because they were given to me as gifts, but I didn't like the fit or absorbancy of either. My 11mo wears Seventh Generation now and I'd suggest those to everyone.
  25. I used pampers swaddlers at that stage. We have just switched into cruiser and I'm not liking them a whole lot. Just got a few more to go thru then I'm going to try huggies. I got one box of huggies as a shower gift in the newborn size and hated them...everyone likes something differnt. I loved the swaddlers, and I have a had time finding a big box in the size "2-3".
  26. Actually, I found that the Target brand diapers work best. I was using Pampers- great for nighttime and no leaking. I've tried Huggies, but didn't really like them- not sure why, just didn't. Also, DON'T try the Walmart brand ones. They leak horribly!!
  27. i used both. i loved huggies because they were made to work around the umblical cord and i loved pampers swaddlers because they seems more comfortable for my son, and held the sticky gooy poos better!
