What's recovery period for a dog after having anal glands removed?
My dog had her anal gland removed 5 days ago. We've had to keep her in makeshift diapers since. She seems to have no bowel control and she has what looks like diaper rash from the shaving. She's miserable, we're miserable - I'm not sure it was the best idea now. How long will this last?

- I would take her for a recheck at your veterinarian. Anal gland removal means that it may be painful for her to try and push to make any sort of bowel movements. You should see improvement as the site heals. There is ointment that you can get from your vet that might help with the rash.
