what diapers are better Pampers or Huggies?
i use huggies right now but i dont know if i should stick with them or try pampers its my first baby so i dont have experience in preferance with diapers.i dont care if one is cheaper then the other i just care about wich absorbs better and does not get so bulky that looks like she has three diapers one at the same time. Please people that have tried both and has had experience with both let me know which one u prefer and why.EXPERIENCED Parents Please help me!

- Use a towel
- no, stay away from the pampers, huggies believe me i have had the experience twice!
- my daughter is 5 months & i love pampers they smell way better than huggies & the tabs on the side are way stretchier than huggies. huggies would be my second choice than luvs. good luck
- I personally dont like either. Pampers broke all my kids out in a horrible rash... huggies they kept soaking through. I get luvs. They have never once soaked though them.. (at any age) they dont irritate their skin and they are not at all bulky when they get wet.
- We've bought pampers, but only becuase they send out and have great coupons in newspaper weekend supplements. I never buy them without one for $1-$2 off.
- I've tried both Pampers and Huggies and found that Pampers are much better. Huggies you can smell the urine and they also leak alot more than Pampers. You could also try the No Name brands, they're alot cheaper and they're just as good, actually I like the WalMart brand diapers better than Huggies! We use a brand called Scooterz, you can get them at our WalMart here in my city.
- I prefer pampers. I have a son and I think the huggies gap at the top alot so he pees right out of them. The pampers seems to be thinner but still don't leak.
- pampers smell better, but more importantly to me, they are SOFT inside and out. my daughter got used to pampers, and then when we switched to huggies, they were scratchy and she fussed a lot about it. we switched back to pampers, and she is a much happier baby.
- I think it depends on your baby's body shape, and "poop style". Some babies have wider bums, and Huggies fit them better, Pampers are a slimmer fit. If your baby has "blow-outs" then I have been told that Huggies don't have as much holding power. I know many people who are really happy with store-brand diapers... and they're way cheaper! I prefer Pampers... I love the way they smell!! And they fit my baby's bum snuggly, so she doesn't look like she has a bulky diaper on.
- i used to use luvs because they were just as good and cheaper than huggies or pampers. in my opinion though, they are pretty much the same as far as absorbing, and bulking are concerned. i would not worry about it though, as a new parent you probably change your childs diaper after the first pee.
- My daughter uses the bathroom alot i mean alot. I love huggies supreme, to me they are the best they fit her body conture better and are great absorbers. If i dont use them she is usually wet in the mornings. If you want to try pampers get the swaddlers kind. if you dont they dont have the strechy sides. also to me they dont absorbs as well as huggies. and i really dont know what that extra netting stuff does that they have. i personally like huggies, but pampers swaddler are pretty good too. Just buy a pack and try them, if you dont like them switch back.
- I have two kids, 4 and 2, boy and a girl. We have gone through so many diapers and so much money buying them. I have had leak problems and issues with the adhesives not sticking on both pampers and huggies. The only diapers that I have had absolute success with are the Target Brand diapers. Not only have I had no leak or adhesive issues but they cost almost half the price of pampers and huggies. Luvs and the Wal Mart Brand have to be the absolute worst diapers by the way.
- As for my experience I had tried almost all kinds of diaper, trying to look for a diaper that is cheaper yet with good quality, but I always end up liking huggies,,,
- Pampers were our preference. Huggies always leaked.
- If I had to choose between the two, I would go with Huggies. The Pampers just didn't fit my girls' shape. They left gaps that would leak. I actually use White Cloud. They work just as well as the Huggies at 1/2 the cost. I suggest you try several different types to see what works best for you.
- I used to swear by pampers... but then they changed some of the things about them.. that dry weave? SUCKS! leaves some weird residue behind...and baby's bottom gets and stays wet... the other pampers are "ok" (swaddlers? cruisers?? not sure the two types of pampers) the past year to two I lean toward huggies... fit is better, leakage is nil... no lines... texture is nicer.... no residue! thinner but very absorbent neither get bulky really? unless baby is in it for too long.... pampers does tend to sag faster though now that I think on it.. luvs I have never cared for.... store brands might be cheaper but you go thru more.... diapering experience? since I was seven... mom used cloth, I helped.... lol that is thirty years and still changing diapers... sigh...lol... really though? I have friends who feel the exact opposite... it is as different as each baby so you might want to get one of each... experience also says? they outgrow newborn size in one and a half to two bags (and the hospital always sends one home with you) so you might want to experiment with size one? hope it helps good luck god bless! oh forgot huggies baby fit not supreme... those are a bit bulky... and if pampers? whichever says "new, dry weave" that is the one that is not so good... the other is again "ok"
- Between the both I would say Pampers only because they smell like baby powder. They both absorb the same. Huggies seem to be a little bulkier though. But my #1 choice is Luvs. Absorbancy and price beat them all. Especially if you have coupons.
- My second daughter is 4 months and I use Pampers on her. I tried Huggies, Pampers, and Luvs with my older daughter. I liked Luvs the best until they changed them. After that, I used Pampers. I don't like Huggies because they are so thin and I found that they tend to leak. I also don't like Huggies because the tabs aren't stretchy like Pampers are. I babysat a baby that wore Huggies, and I don't know how many of those stupid tabs I accidental pulled off when trying to change her diaper. If you do use Pampers though, I would use the Swadlers and then the Cruisers. I would not use the Baby Dry. I got those before by accident and I didn't like them. They weren't stretchy like the others. You can go online to Pampers or Huggies websites and sign up. They will send you free samples and some coupons. Then, you could try them out to see which you like.
- I absolutely love the Pamper's Swaddlers, they're by far the very best out there. Unfortunately they only go to size 2 and I don't like the cruisers as much (even though they're supposed to be pretty much the same, but they're not soft like the swaddlers). My son's about to grow out of size 2, so we're switching over to the huggies baby shaped fit. they're alot less bulky and they work really well. If you have a boy, I think huggies are the best, they stop leaks in the front really well.
- I started out with Huggies Supreme till my daughter was 4 and half months old and she kept pooping out the sides if them so I decided to try Pampers Baby Dry with Catepellar Flex and I LOVE them!!!!They have amazing stretchy side tabs and are not bulky at all!!I wish I had switched sooner!!!! Pampers are way more absorbent and no matter how big a poo she has it NEVER comes out the sides or back anymore!!!If you get them from Walmart and you try a few and do not like them they will take them back!!Go try them, you will love them!!My daughter is now 9 months and still in a size 3.She went into 3s at about 4 months even though she was only 13 pounds but they fit her long lean body great!!Good luck!
- Oh my Gosh I can not stand Pampers I think they are the worse Diapers in the world they leak threw every thing I would go with Huggies they might be a little bit more expensive but it is so WORTH it and plus if you go on their Web Site you can sign up to be a member and receive coupons via email and to your Home Good Luck
- Hi I think that Huggies is the best quality and the texture is really good, I used them with my older son that is 10 1/2 and with my 2 year old son now, Pampers I have tryed but those are the ones that get all bulky and dont' really absorb much,, I say huggies, Good Luck
- We used huggies at first, but switched to pampers for the price. We also buy ours at Walmart, where the price of pampers in bulk is markedly cheaper. We thought that huggies were not so great. Our daughter is a year old this week, and we still use pampers.
- pampers are good - they dont leak and can hold more. but just recently i tried little tykes and they are really good too. Little Tykes are curved at the legs to fit nicely, the tabs are soft and don't scratch, they are pretty (little stars), they hold a lot of poop and pee if need be and they don't come apart or get damaged easily (as pampers and huggies do!)
- I think it depend on your baby.I have a 5 month old son and I did use huggies supreme and then switched to pampers.I like both but huggies he would leak out the sides and the back if he had a big one!My son has very sensitive skin and neither of the diapers effected him at all.The pampers i now use are baby dry with catepellar flex, they are really nice and stretchy and you dont have to mess with the legs to get them on nice and straight they just fit perfectly.good luck
- For newborns... pampers swaddlers. They are not bulky and do the job. When the baby gets a bit bigger... I would use pampers baby dry by day... and huggies at night (they seem to fit more snug and high on the waist). When the baby gets to using stage 3 diapers, pampers cruisers by day, huggies by night. I tried every diaper under the sun... and found these 2 brands to be the best. I'm on my second child who is just 3 weeks old and will do the same with her. Of course stock up on them when they're on sale. It does get costly.
- we use luvs, they work as good as pampers and huggies and they arent as expensive
- I LOVE pampers. I have tried both, and the pampers absorb way better and smell so much better. I think they are also smoother on the outside. I think you should try them and see if you like them for yourself. Pampers also has a reward system that you can earn free stuff. All you do is enter in codes at www.pampers.com, and these tend to add up pretty fast. I am already up to almost 30 points and my son just turned 3 months yesterday. Good luck!
- Ok... The hospital started us with Pampers Swaddlers and they are great. I have a giant (17 pound) 3 month old and we haven't had a leak EVER. The feel more fabricky than Huggies... We actually tried some huggies too, and they just seem too stiff and they are kinda gappy on his backside... so we tossed those! We even tried the Walmart brand ( I can't remember the name) and they sucked too...they just don't fit right For us, Pampers Swaddlers have been the most absorbant and the best fitting (which is just as important...that can be as dry as the sahara, but if the don't cover the geyser, they're worthless). Every other brand is a gamble in my opinion. We do however prefer Huggies wipes..they are bigger and thicker than most...and with toddler sized poos...the bigger and thicker the better...lol. Good luck mama...and congratulations!
- I liked Huggies the best. I tried both and those seemed to absorb better without getting all bulky and mushy. Plus they have velcro tabs on them so if you check the baby and don't need to actually change the diaper then, you can just stick it right back on there. The pampers ones are sticky and you cant usually restick them. Does that make sense? Hope so.
- Me I prefer Huggies.. they seem to stretch more and are a little more forgiving for the baby.. I have used pampers and they are a little softer but huggies seem to fit better. I have also tried the store brand diapers and they are alsp good if you can find ones that fit.. sometimes they don't have the stretch to them that huggies have.
- HUGGIES Supreme or baby shape fit
- I tried all three major brands with my first child. I wasn't keen on Huggies or Luvs. I also tried the military's off-brand. I really didn't like that. I've been most happy with Pampers. Now with Pampers there are two major lines. Baby Dry does nothing for me, as it would always leak. I went with the Swaddlers, that eventually became Cruisers in the larger sizes. These are more absorbant and fabric or cotton like. These work for me, but not for others. I know people that swear by Baby Dry Pampers. It's okay to try each brand. You can usually go to the major brands' webpages to request a trial diaper, so it's no cost to try. For other brands, check for a small pack if available. Or find a few other parents at a local playgroup and each buy a brand so you can all try different diapers.
- I switched back and forth foreeevver. but now I buy the huggies supreme with hugflex, they, in myopinion, work very well. and at night time I use huggies, overnights, i think their called. they say right on the package that their for the night time. they seem to keep my daughter pretty dry through out the night.
- I prefer Pampers, all the way. every time I buy Huggies because they are cheaper my daughter wakes up soaking wet. They also fit my daughter better.
- My 9 month old daughter wears Huggies better than any other brand. They just seem to fit her better. However, because she is such a roly poly baby in order to fit around her belly I have to buy size 4 and they hang in the crotch. I also like the Huggies Supreme they work really well at night, I coat her bottom with diaper cream put her diaper on and leave it till morning-unless she has an accident-6 mornings out of 7 she wakes with dry pjs and she has yet to have any serious rash; the Huggies keep her dry. It's just a matter of what works best for your child. My best friends son wears the Wal-mart brand and she loves them.
- I tried both at teh beginning and huggies were better because of teh elastic in teh top...pampers has redesigned and I fidn them more absorbant...especially at night
- Pampers swaddlers and cruizers have a really nice mesh lining in them!! Just buy a little pack, I dont know how you couldnt like them.
