Cloth diaper mommies?
I use prefold cloth diapers and plastic pants on my 4 month old son. I am going to have to buy some bigger prefold diapers in a couple of months because he is a whopping 18 lbs. already and the diapers and quickly getting too small. If I buy the toddler ones now will they be absolutely huge on him or can I get away with folding down the front for a while? Also, I am thinking about getting a few covers with velcro or snaps rather than the plastic pants. What size do I get that I can get the most use out of and still get the protection from leaks?

- are you using infant prefolds? or premium? (size difference) i started cd'ng from birth and the premiums were JUST HUGE but i still used them - within 3 mos we were good to go - so - if it were me - i would go ahead and get the toddler - my baby is 6 mos and i am already considering toddler size, last dr visit she was 12 lbs and that was 2 mos ago - so we are at about the same size depending on your budget try dappi diaper covers $3 a piece and works great for me - **they are short in the rise though, so my 6 mos old is wearing the large - and i just ordered the toddler size - which is a bit too big for now even with her premium size diapers - imse vimse and bumpy diaper covers are great and a bit more expensive i have 1 of each - and 1 polar fleece stacinator deluxe for over night - i just had to update my stash so i just bought everything in a Large and XLarge - with the stacinator, bumpy and imse vimse - there is no problem with the diaper cover being larger than necessary - with the dappi, the cotton wicks moisture so it can get damp on outside if not folded right - i also got a stacinator wool cover in XLarge and it works perfectly - so - i guess you get what you pay for - but the dappis work just as good - only short in the rise - if you have someone that retails cd's in your area you can probably get used ones - thats what i did - i have had no problems with leaks or blowouts with any of my larger diaper covers except for the dappi in a toddler size and she is just not ready for that size yet you may could get some used ones if you have a local retailer of diapers - or a local person who sells diapers online - that is what i did - where do you live? there are a lot of little home businesses that are scattered around -
