Any advice on what I can do to be a work at home mom?

I'm currently 35 weeks pregnant and pretty soon it will be time for me to stop working. I am still in school and will be taking a lot of time off. And during my free time I want to do something to make money. I was considering making cloth diapers and pads, but I suck at sewing. And I really am clueless on what I can do to survive the couple of weeks I am out of work.

1. First of all, forget BS offers that sound too good to be true. They are. That includes the ones that answer your question! A great business these days is eBay. If there is some kind of merchandise that you are an expert on, buy that at good prices and sell at higher ones! There are many things that you can "buy" without taking delivery, and have the wholesaler ship direct to your customer. Forget cloth diapers, they are made by machine way faster than a human could. I do not know your medical situation, or what you do for a living, but lots of women just keep working until the baby is due. One business idea I had is, those meters for reading engine codes ("OBDII") are real cheap now. They used to be thousands of dollars. Find somebody who knows how to use them on any automotive forum. He/she would go around reading people's codes and turning off their "check engine" lights. You would handle the business and advertising ends of the business. People have to get those lights taken care of to pass inspection in many states, and besides, the codes tell what is wrong with the engine. People need to fix it to save gas.

I've been doing some work with www.elance.com the past week, all the work is home based, data entry, transcription etc. The only thing is you're competing against people from countries where the hourly rate of pay is a lot lower, so not sure if it would be worth it for you. I know you wont make a huge income from this, but it would get you started working from home. Pick a topic which you are very interested in, and write a piece on that everyday.
