- Huggies -- both of my girls' skin got irritated by the plastic-like tabs on the Pampers brand. The key to eliminating leaks is to ensure you have the right fit.
- Buy the generic kind. They are just as good (like Sam's club version.) Also sign up on the website for huggies and pampers and they will send you good coupons in the mail. I personally don't see a difference between either.
- We prefer Huggies. With Luvs and Pampers, the tabs on them are attached to each side of the diaper. With Huggies, the tabs actually pull out some and stretch more. My brother (had 3 in diapers at once) has said the same thing.
- I HATED HUGGIES, PAMPERS WERE GOOD UNTIL HE STARTED PEEING ALOT THEN THEY LEAKED, THEN I WENT TO STORE BRAND AND THEY HOLD THE MOST IF THE BABY GOES A LOT AT ONE TIME
- What's a DL? I love the way Pampers smell. Between our two girls, we've tried lots of brands, and we've never really had a problem with leaking regardless of the diaper.
- I like pampers better. I always had leaks with Huggies. But honestly my favorite diaper is the walmart brand White Cloud. It is the only diaper that my son has never leaked out of EVER. It's also cheaper than expensive brands. Just because the price is more don't assume the diaper is better.
- Well i like the huggies. I used pampers at first, because that is what the hospital used. But they always leaked alot especially at night when she would wear them for long periods of time. Hope this helps.
- Pampers.. I have watched many children for a living and I have 5 nephews that I have changed. Huggies are cut weird and never go on straight and tend to leak. Pampers and Luvs are the best when it comes to not leaking and Pampers fit well and seem to be cut straight. Pampers swaddlers are greta for newborns and at night..
- I'm a Pampers person. It really depends on your baby... their body shape, the angle that they pee at, do they "blow-out". I find that Pampers come higher up the front and back (less messy accidents). My daughter has always been slender, so Pampers work better, Huggies fit chubby babies better. Pampers have that nice diaper smell to them too!!!
- I prefer pampers over huggies... but truely I am a devoted LUVS fan. They are better I think or at least just as great as Pampers and are much easier on the pocket book! They are only about a $1-$2 more than the walmart brand... and they are wonderful diapers!
- I started off using pampers and they were fine and I used a bag of huggies that I recieved at my baby shower and I love them. The tabs are big and stretch outwards to adjust easily. I have never had one leak. I have bought huggies since then and will continue.
- when my son was born I swore by Pampers...because his legs were so skinny...the Pampers were a better fit. But now that he is plumper = ) I use Huggies Supreme (red package-not the white one those are bad) they are the best! It feels double in thickness than Pampers. Before the HUggies my son would leak through his diaper at night...but no more. (Huggies has an elastic stretch back...so everything stays in there)...but if your child is very skinny Pampers works better.
- Huggies are better than pamers I found pampers leaked more and caused more skin irritation my sister in law also said the same thing. If you look around through trial and error you may find another brand that is cheaper that works just as well I use ALDI nappies which work better than huggies. Every baby is different and what nappies work well for onew baby may not work well for another baby. I found this was the case with both of my children.
- Personally - I love the costco brand diapers. They are less expensive than huggies and pampers and I have never had them leak. If you don't have a costco card- I prefer Pampers (especially the swaddlers and cruisers). Both my kids have soaked through Huggies quite easily and I have never had the problem with the other two brands. You can sign up at the pampers or huggies website and they will send you coupons if you choose one of those. When it comes down to it, though- every baby is different. I can't use a certain brand of diaper because my child breaks out in a horrible diaper rash. I guess just trial and error. Just as a side note- I also love the costco brand wipes- by far the best I have used.
- i like huggies for the feel (pampers seem to feel like they are made of cotton or a paper towel or something) but the cool thing about pampers is that you can feel easily if your baby is wet, and I hate the designs on huggies, most baby clothes are light in color and you can see these stupid designs through them, we want to see the clothes not the designs on the diapers. best of luck.
- At first i used pampers but then i decide to try huggies they were cheaper i bought them and fell in love with them.....i think my son liked them more too he seems happier when i use the huggies LOL. well good luck
- pampers brian!
- We tried Huggies for about 2 weeks when my son was born. He had a really bad reaction to them and got a REALLY bad rash. Anyway, not all kids have problems with them, just giving you my personal experience. My sister-in-law uses Pampers for my nephew and I hate them! I babysit him 5 days out of the week and it is just miserable when it comes to diapers. It is not that they leak much (only rarely). The problem I have found is that they have this netting on the inside that sticks to his skin when he pees more than once in them. He always gets rashes - It is crazy. They don't change his diapers because they don't believe the diapers could cause it. Trust me, I've tried to get them to change the brand. Anyway, I use Luvs. My son is 22 1/2 months and has not had 1 diaper rash since the first one at 2 weeks old. I believe that he has been rash free because of using A&D Ointment (not the zinc oxide) and using the Luvs diapers. Every child is different, so it all is up to trial and error.... But I have only heard of allergy/rash problems with Huggies & Pampers... Never with Luvs (but I guess there is a first for everything). :-) Good Luck
- Well, pampers were okay, but I love Huggies. They are a little more stretchy around the waist, which was a necessity for us because my daughter is long and skinny like a string bean (lol). My niece an nephew both had allergic reactions to Pampers, but that was 5-6 years ago. I personally cant stand Luvs, and only use them if it is the middle of the night and I NEED a diaper. I have heard that once babies start crawling that pampers cruisers are excellent, but I have stuck with huggies. My daughter has been crawling for a month and the only leak she has ever had in huggies was today, but she had a VERY full diaper. She has had near blow-outs, but only if I dont get her diaper changed first thing in the morning (Her BMs are VERY regular... same time every day at least once). That being said, the only time I have ever had a leak or blowout it has been my fault. I would buy a small pack of all that you are considering and try them out. You never know what will work for you unless you try 'em out. Good Luck!
- I would have to say..Huggies. They are soo thick and durable, and protects against leaks. The pampers are so flimsy. Plus my oldest son gets a rash from any Pamper diaper.
- I love them both for different things. I think Pampers Swaddlers are the best baby diapers. They're softer and more clothlike than most other diapers which is nice for newborns. I've never had a problem with them leaking or anything else, but the largest they come in is a size 2-3, but all I can find at the places I shop are size 2. My daughters grandma buys Pampers Cruisers for her house and uses them for my daughter when she's there. The only problem I have with them is the absorbent stuff inside them that turns to gel sometimes gets out of the inside part and gets on her skin. I buy the Huggies Supreme for her because I think they have the best fit with the stretch top and legs and I never have problems with leaks. I have bought the regular Huggies and do not like their fit and the tabs kept tearing off. I think for toddlers Huggies Supreme are the best diapers.
- We prefer Huggies for our son. He tended to wet through Pampers. Hes 7 months now and we havent had a problem with the Huggies.
- I really think it depends on the baby. Each person I have asked seem to have different experiences and preferences. My favorite are the Pamper Cruisers. I have a 4 month old boy ( he wears size 3, he is 21 pounds 4 oz)who is breast feed only so he has really soft fully loaded stools. The only diaper I have used ( pampers swaddlers, huggies and luvs) that never leaks with his poopy is the Pamper Cruisers. Not to sound like I leave my baby in a soiled diaper for long but he only tends to go once a day at mid morning and its always so big and also a loud experience. Good luck in finding your best diaper.
- pampers swaddlers are the best and the biggest size is sold at target (2-3) i do not like the baby dry from pampers. luvs leaves crystals on my daughter and thats right after she pees. huggies in the red isnt bad. i also like walmart white cloud they stretch good.
- I myself liked luvs better. They were cheaper and worked just as well. My kids didn't have as many leaks with these kind. Wal-Mart brand (white cloud) works well too!
- Huggies. Pampers have this weird mesh stuff that sticks to baby's behind and causes irritation. Huggies have elastic in the back. We had problems with other brands leaking.
- My baby uses pampers easy-ups, but she's potty training. But she used Huggies for about the first 2-3 months after she was born. The Huggies irrated her skin and leaked. I started using Luvs. Everything that was Huggies like the lotion and wipes irrated her skin.
- I think it totally depends on the baby's shape. I hate huggies and swear by pampers and don't recall them ever leaking. My sister in law swears by huggies and hates pampers....
- I use Hugges Gentlecare, because it has cuddleweave, and let me tell you it saves from LEAKS! Any other diaper I have used on my son he has leaked out of
- i like both and luvs if he sleeps thru the night with out waking the pampers will leak a little. however parents choice and white cloud leaked all the time with my son.
- pampers! they fit better and dont leak!
- In my humble opinion, there is only one choice in this matter. That is cloth, cloth, cloth, cloth. The only real diaper is a cloth diaper. Cloth diapers are cheaper in the long run than disposables, true, there is a larger cost up front but each time you use those cloth diapers they become cheaper and cheaper until the are less than the disposables. Cloth diapers breathe where disposables won't. Even with wearing diaper covers over the cloth diapers, they breathe better. This means next to no diaper rashes. You just need to make sure that you change them right away. They are better for your baby's skin. Cloth diapers aren't that difficult to maintain. Under normal circumstances, for one child, you shouldn't have to do more than one or two loads of diapers a week. That really isn't that much when you think about how much better off your baby will be in the long run not to mention your wallet. Cloth diapers, when taken off your baby, should have any waste dumped into the toilet and flushed away, then they should be put in a diaper pail with water and white vinegar to cut down on the odor causing bacteria. Cloth diapers should be washed with a detergent just like your other laundry, don't use the kind that says "chemical free" because they leave a residue in the diapers. Make sure you use a 2nd rinse cycle. During the first rinse cycle put in a cup of white vinegar and let the 2nd cycle rinse it out. Cloth diapers should not be washed in bleach because bleach will break down the fibers in the diapers causing them to prematurely wear out and become nothing more than rags. Cloth diapers should not be washed or dryed with any kind of fabric softener because it leaves a coating on the fibers and makes them less absorbent. Cloth diapers can be dryed in the dryer but if you can, hang them in the sun, it is a natural bleach and helps get rid of stains and gives the diapers a very fresh clean fragrance. I use a drying rack instead of a clothes line to dry mine. That way I don't break my back reaching up to hang them up, I don't drop clothes pins and I don't hang myself on the clothes line. Yes, I say mine, I'm incontinent and have to wear diapers 24 / 7 due to a medical condition. I wear cloth diapers all the time. The only time I will wear disposables is on a long trip where it isn't easy to wash or store used cloth diapers. Give them a try, I think you will like them, today's cloth diapers are not your grandmother's diapers any more. There are so many different styles of diapers and diaper covers that are just as easy to use as disposables. Congratulation on the baby. Good luck.
