  1. No...I always put in ON my daughter's butt, not IN her diaper...
  2. people do not use baby powder anymore because if the baby inhales it it can cause them to choke or cause scar tissue on there lungs is what my doctor told me
  3. You don't need to put baby powder in the diaper. Baby powder is so "dusty" that it can easily be inhaled by the baby when you put it in his diaper & cause irritation. I only used it after a bath when the skin was moist & was very careful about putting it on.
  4. Babies don't need powder, or if they do only a very small amount dusted on them. When you put it in the diaper its way too much. Plus there is talc in it, not the best for infants and children. Burts Bees sells a really nice powder that is talc free. If you want to use baby powder you can also use corn starch, its a safer alternative.
  5. I used a little too, but they say that the babies bottom doesnt get enough air, it doesnt breathe and could possibly cause bad rashes but i would def. talk to pediatrician.
  6. A little powder is okay, but not everytime. It can sometimes cause infections in little girls. At least it did with my oldest daughter.
  7. You don't want to put baby power on a baby because of the powder going into the air. A baby could aspirate and die. My friend is a respiratory therapist and has seen this. There is no need for it either. Perfumes in it aren't good for baby's skin.
  8. look for liquid powder..its awesome and the baby wont be harmed by nhaling dust because there is none
  9. This was to prevent rash and chaffing as an infant, the hospitals don't recommend it any longer, however it is a practice still used today by millions of parents. Allot of mothers will use corn starch to help with diaper rash, or a baby power, this stop the air from getting onto the rash and reduces the pain an itching associated with it. So go ahead, your the parent, and they will still be selling baby powder for the next 1000 years regardless of what the hospital says.
  10. Diapers now are much more absorbent than they used to be. It kind of makes the powder obsolete. You can still use it if you like though, just put it in your hand first to keep it from getting in the baby's face. It makes them smell good.
