Diapers Q&A

Best baby diapers, and where to buy for the best price?

I am expecting my first baby in June. Does anyone with experience have recommendations as to what is the best diaper, and where to buy for the best price? Thanks.

  1. Pampers baby dry, and buy them in bulk to save money!
  2. Even though I don't use them, everyone I know swears by Luvs. I use pampers and they are great, but pricey. But my brother, best friend and several others use Luvs and swear they are just as good as Pampers. I haven't switched because I think if it isn't broke, don't fix it.
  3. pampers that's the name of them they are located at your local walmart and are cheap leak proof and don't provide a rash most recommend but doctors and soft to baby's touch.
  4. I personally prefer Huggies. The best place to buy them is Target or Wal-Mart and be sure to sign up at huggies.com to get coupons in the mail!
  5. Huggies and Toys R Us or Babies R Us. (From 2 kids worth of experience) Why Huggies? They have reliable velcro closers and they don't leak. Plus they aren't too expensive and hold up well to 'active' kids. And they are good for boys and girls both (from experience.) Why NOT Pampers? They are tinged yellow so you can't quite tell if they are dirty or not and the fasteners shread the diaper if you open or close them (even the ones that claim they are reclosable.) Why R Us? At least in our area it's the cheapest place to get them. *shrug*
  6. I love Target brand diapers! My son hardly leaks out of them! And they're way cheaper (even in bulk) than the name brands. I've heard Walmart's brand is pretty good too.
  7. Huggies newborn SUCK! They leak really bad, so don't waste your money. Walmart has a brand called parents choice. They have great diapers and wipes for a good price. Little tykes has also just come out with diapers that are good. And luvs. Every baby is different. Your baby may get a rash from one while your neighbors baby can wear it with no prob.
  8. Huggies.....I started out getting pampers and my daughter would wake up in the morning socked because they leak.....Ever since we started buying Huggies we love them.....And you can buy them in Bulk at Sams Club.....
  9. With my first baby, I swore by luvs. They were a cheaper and just as good as the more expensive brand. With my second baby I used luvs, but he was very round and they just didnt work, they leaked like crazy. We switched to the papmpers swaddlers and they worked great. When he got bigger we used and still use pampers cruisers. They are the best! The stretch! They hold up longer too. I usually just get the big box at wally world for $20. God luck with your little one!
  10. With my first child it was Luvs all the way, this time around I am going to do the same since they worked out great before for me! Luvs are the cheaper of the name brands and worked great! Buying in bulk is the best option for saving money with any diaper brand you choose. I am due this July and have been shopping around, I found one website that seems to have some good prices its http://www.1800diapers.com/ Good Luck!
  11. After having 3 children in diapers, I had my boys 2 years apart and changed diapers for 7 years straight, I would recommend Pampers. You can buy them from Toys R Us or Walmart in large cases for a reasonable price.
  12. LUVS LEAK BAD... Pampers are great.. Huggies are great.. White Cloud are ok... I'v enever had good luck with luvs and they aren't streachy..and my baby breaks out in them cause they are harsh...
  13. everyone wil say different brands the best ones though is the ones you personally like all of them have there goods and bads you just have to experience with them buy a few different brands and find out which is best for your baby thats how we mothers prefere one over the other.i personally use pampers and huggies for my daughter but i do find that huggies sizes 2 and up are kinda rough but they dont hurt the baby. oh and i experienced leaks on both brands but as long as you change your baby often that should happen For large cases go to target or walmart they have the best prices for them
  14. The best dipares in my opinion are luvs...they are absorbant and not at all expensive.....the best place to get diapers is a wholesale club like Sams club, Costco, etc. Good luck with your new baby
  15. pampers.com has a place where you can sign up to recieve coupons and enter to win a year's worth of diapers. Long shot, I know. But it's worth a try, right? As far as who has the best diaper, I don't think there is one. There will be diapers that work best for your baby. Don't limit yourself to disposable diapers, cloth diapers have come a long, long way. I've heard and experienced great things with and about Parent's Choice (WalMart brand), Luvs, and Pampers diapers. I haven't used or heard other moms talk about Pampers Swaddlers, but they look and sound interesting.
  16. Well if you have a Walmart nearby, the best diapers I have found to buy are called Parent's Choice. They are just as good as the expensive diapers (eg: pampers) and they are cheap!! You can get a huge bag with over 63 diapers in it for $10 bucks (size 1). The price never increases as the baby changes sizes but they just put a few less in each size. Most people think that b/c they are only $10 they must be worth nothing when it comes to quality and actually that isn't true I have been using them for 4 years now and I can tell you they are the best at leakage protection and movement protection (to prevent shredding and falling off)!!! I highly recommend them!
  17. I started out with pampers. I had a preemie, they were the only brand had preemies. When my daughter got into regular diapers I bought every brand you could think of. Never being happy with the way they fit. I got a free sample in the walmart store for their white cloud brand, and I loved them. They fit her great. and are about 1/2 the cost of pampers or huggies. She is long and lean. She is now 2 1/2 and potty trained, but if she wore a diaper it would be a size 3. You will have to find out how much your baby goes. Some brands hold more than other brands. We changed the baby every 2 hours or so, and she hardly ever wet through, but my sisters boy couldn't use walmart diapers because he peed to much. ( i think my sister needed to aim that thing differently, then he wouldn't wet all over himself all the time)
  18. Go with Luvs, I have and found that they do not leak and are much better priced. I got a big pack at Meijers for 9.00. Where as I tries pampers and found that they are soft but leak.
  19. Cloth diapers are so much more manageable than they used to be these days, with the different cloth systems innovative moms have come up with! It's still a bit of an investment to get started, but definitely still cheaper than disposables in the long run-- especially if you plan on having at least one more baby. :) I recommend unbleached Chinese or Indian prefolds, about 2 dozen to start with. The unbleached hide stains much better than bleached white ones, and actually wash up softer eventually. They start out stiffer, though, because they still have natural cotton oils and coatings on the fibers. About 3-4 hot washes and they are ready to use, though. http://www.jardinediapers.com/Diaper-Service-Quality-Diapers-Dozens-p-22.html As for water-resistant covers, well, there are about a dozen or more different styles of covers out there these days. The least expensive ones are probably this type: http://www.jardinediapers.com/product.php?productid=9&cat=0&page=1 Wool is my personal favorite material for covers, but it is A) expensive, and 2) lots of babies' bottoms are too senstive for it. Some of the best quality wool covers out there, though, are Biobottoms: http://www.nanasnaturaldiapers.com/ If you are thrifty, or on a tight budget, I'd suggest shopping for used cloth diapers on eBay-- lots of work-at-home moms selling their brand-new unused stuff for lower prices than the bigger online cloth diaper shops, and *tons* of hardly-used stuff from moms who gave it a try and didn't stick with it. ;) You may not have considered cloth diapering as of yet, but I hope you will look into it a little! I'm sure you'll see that it's first of all, healthier for babies' bottoms, secondly, healthier for the environment, and last but not least, a very economical alternative to disposables. :)
  20. I use to work in a daycare in the babyroom and then the older toddler room so I very familiar with diapers. The best diapers are Pampers! Doesn't matter what style, but they the strong pull sides and don't break as easy as Huggies and Luvs. Just my opinion! Good Luck and Congratulations!
  21. Huggies - And get them in the big pack at Walmart. Tina
  22. Cloth diapers you can just wash em at home if you have a washing machine is saves money so you don't have to keep buying disposable diapers but I advise you to get many when you first buy them. http://www.thanksmama.com/
  23. Huggies and you can buy them at BJ's is cheaper.
