Do dog diapers exist for dogs who are in heat? Where can I purchase them?
My pug is too young to spay just yet. Where can I purchase some diapers for her so that she won't spot up the house. I know I could use human diapers but I am looking for a product specially made for dogs. Thanks.

- you can buy them in pet stores, they are made of a waterproof green material and you put ordinary sanitary towels in them.
- I don't know which does not help you one bit, but that would be a great idea, you may have just made someone a rich person by puting ideas like that on the internet, all the best in finding your answer, let me know if there is one out there in the market places please :-)
- Nearly all pet supply stores have them. Look how many types there are!: http://images.google.com/images?q=dog+diapers&sourceid=navclient-ff&ie=UTF-8&rlz=1B3GGGL_en___US232&um=1&sa=N&tab=wi
- they do, you can get them at most pet stores, then you just need to buy some pads for the dog. in a pinch you can also improvise one just a rag (yes this is personal experience talking here)
- lol....I remember my dad dealing with that problem with our dog sheba. He once put a diaper on her so she would'nt spot up the house. Only once though....we dealt with it mostly kept her in the garage during that time. Awww now i miss my ol dog. She passed in 2004. boo hooo........ good luck~
- pet shops like petsmart or petco
- I can never understand why people have to put diapers on dogs. They are not babies. When a female is on heat it is natural for her to lick that area to keep herself clean. By putting diapers on her you are preventing her from doing what comes naturally. You could try confining your female to a part of the house, i.e. the kitchen or another room where there is a tiled or washable floor while she is bleeding and just keep the floor clean by mopping it. Most females usually clean up after themselves anyway and, although the season lasts for 21 days, they only 'spot' until about the 11/12th day and then it starts to dry up. Vigilance is still required for the whole 21 days in case the female encounters a 'rampant' male as females can still become pregnant even though the blood has diminished.
- You should be able to find them in almost any pet store. I would just call some pet stores in your area and see if they carry them. They should not be too hard to find..
- You can buy them at a pet store in a package for about a dollar and a half each. They last for about 2 minutes, maybe a little longer on a short-nosed pug. After that the dog tears them to shreds for you to clean up. So you put another one on her, remembering that these are disposable, and she repeats the process. After a while you just crate her with an old towel to catch any mess.
- Check petco or petsmart. They have diapers for them there.
