Female dog attracted to me?
I have a 10 month old Golden Retriever and she is currently in her first heat. My wife and I bought her the dog diapers to keep her from making a mess, but after a few days she starts to smell realy bad, so I bathe her backside every few days. When I dy her she arches her back and moves her tail to the side , is that normal? She is realy playful and my wife and I sometimes get on the ground with her and play with her. Recently she has had the odd habit of sticking her backside in my face when I am on the ground , she also pushs her tail to the side when she does this . My wife and I discourage this behavior but she is staring to do it to my wife also and the kids my wife babysits. She also seems to be spraying alot, at least I think thats what it is called, usualy wen she gets excited or defensive ( like when she barks at the neighbors or is startled) what is that and what can I do to remedy it?

- Well, she knows that her body is telling her she needs to mate and have puppies, but unfortunately she has picked anyone who pays her attention to try it with. This will probably only stop if you spay her.

- All normal behaviors of being in heat. When she is out of heat, have her spayed. No more embarrassing 'in heat' behaviors and it will curb a lot of major health problems later on she may face being un-altered as well. :)
- If you don't get your dog fixed ASAP your going tohave to dealwiththis for the rest of your dogs life - fixing them isth best & healthiest thing to do for your dog - don't breed her AT ALL - not even once call the vet make an appointment asap & the problem will disappear Shes in heat & shes being a flirt - sorry to hurt your feelings but she'll shove her butt in cats face right now if she hd the chance -its what females do when i heat - all the dogs with in 7 miles are after her -don't let her outside alone Call the vet and set up an appointmet to take her in good luck !
- This is called flagging. It means she is fertile and wants a male dog. Since you are the closest thing she can find, she is inviting you to be her "friend".
