my dog got her period and i don't know what to do?

she's about 6 months old and we were planning on getting her fixed this paycheck but my husband had some dental problems so we decided to wait until next check. well now she's bleeding everywhere.we live in an apartment so i cant just put her outside and im stuck at home with no car. when my husband gets off work everything will be closed. what am i suppose to do? we're using our credit card to get her fixed asap(we didnt expect her to go into heat this soon) but i dont know what to do about her bleeding all over the apartment. i know they make doggy diapers for dogs in heat but like i said my husband has the car. please help.

5. Do you have any diapers or know of a neighbor that does? You could cut a hole for the tale and put one on her. She won't like it though so you'll have to watch her, otherwise she'll tear it off. I was told I could wait until 6 months to spay my puppy but I was afraid that I would get into the same situation as you did. Good luck.
6. you could try making a makeshift diaper with thin towels, but i think it wold be easiest to put several towels in the bathtub, and put the dog there till your husband gets home. play with her, so she doesn't think she is being punished.
7. You can use underware with a pad in it and cut out the tail part and put it on her and use some scotch tape or something to keep it tight enough so it doesnt fall off.
8. wrap a towel around her diaper style until you can get to the store for real diapers. you can soak the towel in cold water and then wash it when you are ready to clean it. that should get the blood out.

10. Take and put her in one area of your apartment. Throw down old towels blankets ect. Even newspaper will work. If you can you a baby fence or a baby gate to gate her in one space it will work. If you need to place her in the bathroom.
11. Call around to get a good deal when you can get her fixed--shelters offer spaying for cheaper than the vet does. Glad to hear you plan on doing so :) As for now...pretty much all you can do is try to keep her and the apartment as clean as possible. You can try to make a diaper with an old towel for now...
12. you can buy little doggy sanitary napkins, they work almost like a doggie diaper, you can get them at your local petstore. It will keep her from bleeding all over your house. You could also get her fixed, that would solve the problem once and for all.
13. Dogs don't get periods. They go into heat approximately every 6 months. If you have an old pair of underwear that might fit her, you can cut out a tail hole (if she has a tail), and attach a regular pad or even a diaper, whatever you have laying around. If you do have regular diapers, just cut a hole for the tail. I know this isn't ideal, but it will work until you can get somewhere. You can get her spayed while she is in heat. If the vet you go to says no, then go to another one. There's absolutely nothing wrong with it.
14. Use an old towel, cut it up and use it like a diaper. Might have to rinse it out a couple of times, but that's the fun of having a dog.
15. Two things: 1) Don't get her fixed while she's in heat. I can't go into a lot of detail so quickly, but it's NOT good for her. 2) A quick fix--If your husband wears briefs or you have some old ones that you don't care for much, put them on her like a diaper and safety pin them in place. Be careful not to stick her. This will suffice until you can get some doggy diapers or toddler training pants. These will also last until her period is over. I hope this helps.

17. I never bothered with doggy diapers... you can do the same thing with a pair of little girls underwear (cut out a hole for the tail) and women's minipads... I have a friend who uses boys underwear and then pulls the tail through the slit. You don't say how big your dog is... perhaps you have something in the house that will fit. A Samoyed wears a little girls 6-8 panties... a Bernese wears a women's size 6. No... do NOT put her outside... she'll get pregnant... and about the time she slows in the bleeding is when she's most fertile.
18. Put a home-made diaper on her! She will be in season for the next three weeks. It is best for her now, if you wait until she goes out of season before you spay her now.
19. First of all, don't fret. It's OK!! She can't help it & neither can you. The only thing I can reccomend is keep her contained in one room or area until she stops bleeding or you get her to the vet. Just put some old sheets or towels down wherever she may sit or lie down...it'll be over soon. She's probably taking care of some of it herself by instinctively cleaning herself. Other than that, just keep spot cleaning everything as soon as you can. I wouldn't get too crazy with doing lots of laundry until it's over. Keep her happy & somewhere she's comfy.....& LOVE that doggy!!!!

22. ok yeah getting her fixed asap will stop the bleeding . but she may bleed for a short time after that .(thats if she is fixed while she is in heat) but untill then just ask ur husband to buy pads for dogs ..
