What are the benefits of chlorine free diapers? Please give me links or proof to back up your reply.?

I would love replies from anyone who has done their research on this. Thanks so much!

  1. I have 2 grand daughters & my daughter in law told me that when the baby urinates the chlorine comes out of the diaper & if they are not changed immediately it burns them & causes more diaper rash ! It makes sense to me.
  2. I looked into it because my stepson has very sensitive skin. I even tried them for a while. However, there wasn't much of a difference, except for the money I put out. If you're worried about the urine on the skin, that's what skin barrier creams and baby powder is for (althugh I do not recommend using baby powder on a girl).
  3. My understanding is that chlorine, anywhere, is an environmental hazard, and therefore chlorine free diapers would be beneficial to babies' bums. Most diapers use chlorine in the bleaching process, which is why Huggies/Pampers etc are so blindingly white. Seventh Generation makes a chlorine free disposable diaper, which lots of moms seem to like. We use cloth diapers and I don't use bleach on them, but cloth diapers aren't for everyone.
