is my 5 1/2 month old allergic to disposable diapers?
with my son i don't always buy the same brand of diapers(depends on my coupons). last week i bought pampers cruisers, i've gotten the swaddlers before but i wanted to try these out since he is big for his age and not "cruiseing". a bumpy rash started showing up under his belly button across his belly a few days ago. today after his bath i noticed that it was more bumpy and that it had spread to his little man parts and his hiney a little. could this be a reaction to the diaper? or just a little rash and just needs some air. thanks.

- Yes it could. I would try a different brand. However, if you recently started a new food, it could also be food allergies. I would change diapers first though.
- maybe, go to a doc. or use different type of diapers, i hope ur son is ok!
- Diapers are made from a wood pulp that some children can have a reaction to. Believe it or not almost all diapers have a fragrance added to them and or a preservative. He may be having a reaction to these as well. I would go back immediately to a brand you have not had any issues with and see if itdoes not clear up the problem.
- Try a barrier cream (good quality) castor oil and zinc are good and some free nappy air time. Good Luck.
- My son did the same thing with pampers cruisers a friend had some that her daughter grew out of so she gave them to me,and it gave my son the same kind of rash you are talking about.Normally I used Parents Choice or White Cloud (YES the cheap ones) and they never did that to him.Change the brand his skin maybe sensitive to them.I went to the doctor and he gave me some ucerin calming cream and that took care of the rash. You can buy it over the counter so I would try that.It worked for me.Good luck:)
- rash from the diapers yes. Money problems i do understand but you need to stick to one brand of diapers his skin is sensitiveto the diffent materials in the diapers.
- It's important to be consistent and use the same type of diapers each time. Switch back to whatever you've used in the past that didn't give him this rash. If it goes away, you know it's the diapers. If not, then it's something else.
- He is allergic more than likely. I don't know what it is, but two of my three kids were/are allergic to Pamper. We use Luvs, and have no problems.
- This happened to my newborn with Pampers Swaddlers! I switched to Walmart's White Cloud and it went away
