Diapers Q&A

Cloth Diapers....?

Anybody know what store I can get the "plastic pants" that go over the cloth diapers? I couldn't find them at Target or Walmart or Baby's R Us...at least not online. I didn't see any at Target when we went to get the crib either.. I did find some at Walmart but not just the cover, they were made with the cloth inside them already. I just want the covers. I would prefer a store I can actually go into. Thank you!! yeah I saw the "poo poo" one but it looks like terry cloth?? Kinda seems like it wouldn't be effective... =/ Yeah I guess I meant to say rubber pants not plastic pants!! lol

  1. Try thrift stores I always see tons of them for really cheap! Also Used baby cloths stores. Oh my husband just told me hes seen them in walgreens because we are thinking of doing the same thing.
  2. I thought I saw some on the Target web site. It said poo poo on the back. I did not see them in the store, though. I just did a google search, and all I can find are diaper covers. Maybe they've replaced the old rubber pants with the cloth covers.
  3. I bought all mine at Toys R Us or JC Penney, but it was a long time ago.
  4. I didn't know anyone even used cloth diapers anymore......
  5. I got all of mine at wal-mart, they usually have them, if not I would check on e-bay. Another option is to check with your local linen supply, they usually have a diaper service so you don't even have to worry about cleaning the diapers, they do it for you!!! Good Luck
  6. Hmm... I have seen them at Target, Fred Meyer, and Babies R Us. I have noticed sometimes that stores don't list all of their products online. If you can't find them, I'd keep looking at all the department stores in your area. Just because one Target doesn't have them doesn't mean they won't be available at another chain. They are packaged as a "pull on diaper cover". At most department stores they will be made of vinyl, but the BRU ones of made of nylon (which is more breathable). It's okay to buy your diaper covers at department stores, but if you end up using store bought diapers, you probably will have issues. Many of the bad things you've heard about using cloth diapers are because of the poor quality diapers sold in department stores. Quality cloth diapers are available at specialty baby boutiques and online. I've included informational links that are good for cloth diaper beginners. ********* Just to clarify what Valerie H said- Bummis aren't just made of cloth, otherwise how would they keep moisture in? Bummis are made from a super resistant waterproof laminate sandwiched between two layers of a soft polyester knit. The work fabulously too! They are so popular that even some diaper services sell them. Also the link that was supposed to go to the Bummis went to BumGenious which are an All-in-One pocket diaper. They are not a diaper cover, but with those diapers you won't need covers. This is the link for the Bummis page- http://www.thebabymarketplace.com/securestore/c26043p90184.2.html You may be able to find a store near you that carries Bummis- check here; http://www.bummis.com/Services/SearchEn.asp All you have to do is enter your state and all Bummis retailers in that state will come up.
  7. I've seen them at Target, Wal-Mart, K-Mart, Walgreens, CVS, Big-Lots and many other department, drug and other specialty stores. They are still plastic pants that I've seen in these stores, you don't see rubber pants much anymore. You can buy them online, just search for diapers and when you find the sites that sell baby diapers they usually have the plastic pants to go over them. I'm incontinent and wear cloth diapers and plastic pants 24 / 7 due to a medical condition and I make my own plastic pants. Just a thought, maybe you could do that for the baby. Good luck.
  8. I havent seen ANY ruddery or plastic ones for a long time. Maybe they are not really being used any more - all I have seen are the cloth ones called Bummis. Ive never used them - I went with disposables. I put a link on here for you for the Bummis
  9. They sell them at Walmart, Meijer, and even BigLots and some $1 stores...you have to really search for them, and they are horrible, lol... Walmart.com sells All-in-ones now! Kushies brand... The ones with cloth inside, are not covers, but training pants...you could use them are covers, but that would end up really, really bulky... ;) Walmart.com should ship them to your local store for free too. Good Luck! =) PS- I JUST bought some of what you are lookinfg for at meijer the other day- we were out and I forgot diapers... ;)
  10. I have seem them at Kmart on rare occasions. I second the thrift store idea and you might also go to www.diaperswappers.com or www.clothdiaperexchange.com or www.diaperpin.com and look under their covers.
