Cloth diapers?

Cloth diapers are much better for the inviroment, but kinda hard to find. Any ideas? what type are best?

1. Call up a diaper service and then you don't have to worry about it
2. All cotton cloth diapers are the best. Try Sears or Penney's catalogs. Here are couple on-line sources. Don't buy the pre-folded ones. I think it's hard to judge for sure which are worse for the environment, but I always preferred cloth except when travelling.
3. when you take into account the washing chemicals etc cloth and disposable diapers are equally bad/good - do what's best for your, without feeling pressured either way
4. Who said that they are better for the environment? The detergent used in washing them is released into the environment which may be worse than the disposable ones which are now degradable.

6. It depends on what kind of cloth diapers you want. There are prefolds, fitteds, pockets, AIOs. I use mostly FuzziBunz, and I love them. They have an attached PUL covering so they don't need a cover. Am sending you links with good cd info as well as links to some great online stores. 7. I buy mine on ebay and gotten tons of them off freecycle. I have found that bummis and bumkins are great with prefolds and I love fuzzibunz at night
8. good answers here--but, I wanted to add-- A lot of times I used cloth diapers if I was hanging out at my own house. It felt like a nice balance, use cloth at home, wash them, re-use them. Then "save" the convenient disposable diapers for when you are out and about. I didn't need to buy as many disposables that way. It made me proud to save even more money, since I completely breastfed my babies, I never bought any formula or canned baby food for any of my kids! Buying a bag of Pampers every other week sure didn't cost too much! good luck and congrats!
9. I did a lot of research on cloth diapers when I found out I was pregnant. I am very happy with www.thanksmama.com. I use Kushies Ultra All-in-One with Mother of Eden doublers. They go on just like a disposable. I have yet to see any in stores only on the internet. There are so many different types of cloth diapers check out thanksmama.com to see what may work best for you. Personally, I could never see myself folding, pinning, and putting on extra layers thats why the Kushies Ultra All In One works best for me. You may feel differently and find another brand that works better for you. Good for you for considering cloth!
10. Cloth is the best, not only for the environment but also for your baby. Disposables are hot and sticky and don't breathe but cloth does therefore reducing diaper rash and other problems. Yeah, disposables are degradeable but it still takes decades to do so where the detergents now are much more environmentally friendly. Stay with cloth, use disposables in emergencies and sparingly. 12. They're not hard to find if you look in the right places!! Do *not* buy them from any department store; the diapers they sell are about as absorbant as plastic!! The only place to buy them is from online specialty stores. They have really high quality ones.
