Cloth diapers?

How many of you use cloth diapers. And what brand or type is your favorite?

  1. I have heard the best is to make them. :) If you ask at a fabric store, they will tell you what is the softest/most durable/absorbent/etc to use.

  4. i used cloth for both of my kids (ages 11 and 2) with my daughter i used plain old prefolds and DiaperWrap covers. With my son i learned about more choices. For him i used a combo of prefolds and Bummis Super Whisper Wraps, Happy heinys and Fuzzi Bunz, along with various fitteds under fleece pants.
  5. I use cloth diapers on my son during the day and the Seventh Generation Diapers non-chlornine bleached diapers at bedtime. I bought the chinese prefolds and Imse Vimse covers as well as Bummi covers. Both are great. The Imse Vimse's stain a bit easier but they stretch and I love the soft cotton outside.
  6. i use them. i found that it dosnt really matter what you buy, because the amount of times you wash them they all end up the same. i think that you can buy a type of flanalett nappy, but they are much more priced then the cotton.
  7. Cloth diapers are definitely better for the environment, more people should use them. The best brand is the one you can afford as some can be quite expensive.
  8. Used cloth til 8 months. Just used the regular flanelette rectangles, did the folding ourselves.
  9. I love cloth diapers! I find that cloth is easier than disposables, and you won't have to deal with diaper rash, messy leaks or running out! Be careful--you may become addicted! I have a bunch of links in my MySpace blog. Email me if you're interested, and I will either give you my MySpace url or copy and paste into an email. Currently, my favorite diapers are Chinese prefolds with a homemade wool cover. For a newborn, I like Kissaluvs fitteds. Newborn prefolds are good too; I found that I needed a really good cover. Proraps and Bummis are my favorite PUL covers. Proraps last forever and Bummis never leak unless you forget to change the diaper. Snappis help contain the poo by holding the diaper snug against baby's butt. I made some easy no-sew fleece liners. After I finish sewing a fleece project, I cut rectangles out of the excess material. That's it, and you can use fleece from old jackets, blankets, anywhere. For going out, I really like BumGenius one size pockets. They come with the best stuffin ever, they're cute, and they really are one-size. Someone suggested making them. I like to make diapers, but the people at the fabric store where I live don't know anything about diapers. Except my mom, but only because she's been helping me make diapers for a while! I can share all my sewing links too if you're interested.
