Did you wear Disposable or Cloth Diapers as a baby?
My daughter was born six months ago and I remembered trying to decide whether to use cloth or disposable. My hubby was against cloth at first, but we decided to give it a shot. It has been wonderful. However, my mother can't go over it. She told me that when I was born (1978) that cloth was considered too uncomfortable and everybody was starting to use disposables. It seems that the cloth vs. disposable diaper debate will go on forever. So ladies, which kind did you wear?

- well, I was born in 1968 and all we had then (as far as I can tell), was cloth. I used some cloth with my daughters, but also some disposable. It seemed like my second daughter's bottom didn't care for disposables. It WAS a pain to use cloth, since it seemed like we never had enough clean ones, and all we did was wash diapers, lol
- In 1950, when I was born, cloth was the only kind available. Also when my children were born in 1972 thru 1977 there was just the beginning of disposable diapers. At the time Pampers were perfumed and caused my children to have a severe diaper rash. When Safeway came out with a non perfumed version I used them when I travelled but used cloth for all 3 of my children at home until they were potty trained.
- Aparrently i wore cloth n my mum said it was the best , i have no idea why as for me convienience wins over cost anyday!!!
- I used cloth diapers when I was little. My parents saved thousands of dollers by using cloth. I never had any problems. No skin rashes or discomfort. I don't see what the problem actually is. Everybody wears underware right? And underware is made out of what?---cloth. And if the underware gets dirty, what do you do with it?---wash them. Cloth diapers are no different than underware for little babies. So, the question is, do you want to waste literally thousands of dollers in none biodegrabale plastic that is bad for the environment and potentially toxic to little babies????? or would you rather save thousands of dollers and use cloth diapers which have been used by families for houndreds of years and are save for the environment and for children?????
- I was born in 1980 and my mother used cloth diapers for all 5 of her children. I am the oldest. I use disposables cause I like the convenience.
- my mom used cloth diapers for all six of her children born in years 1975, 1980, 1981, 1984, 1988,and 1992. she says she'd never use anything else. i use disposable on my daughter but i do have a pack of cloth for emergencies. my sister uses cloth on her daughters.
- Gosh, I was born in '79 and my mom was still using cloth diapers. She used them with 4 out of 5 of her kids--her hands are still rough looking to this day from all the scrubbing. A little story-- my dad was changing me one day and apparently wasn't used to the task of diaper changing and using those big safety pins. He stuck the pin in the diaper and I started screaming. He said he just stood there confused until he realized that he had put the pin all the way through my skin.... ouch! Luckilly I can't remember it!
- Cloth...I was born in 1968 and thats all that they had then...I have used disposable on my children. I am pregnant again and maybe I will try the cloth! Good Luck!
- well i was born in 1969, and there was no such thing as a disposable nappy back then
- Umm i was born in 1980 and my mum says she used cloth as disposables were too expensive I am a middle child all 1 year apart so you could imagine the expense of disposables and the number of hours washing the cloth diapers. With my 2 kids I used disposables as I was a working mum and just did not have the time to spend in the laundry.
- I do believe that i wore the cloth diapers back in 1975. I also used them when i had my own children to save money.
