Where can my wife and I get the most inexpensive diapers for our baby without shopping at Wal-Mart?
My wife and I are having our first baby in either late March or early April. She is engaging in some serious "nesting" and has decided that the thing to do is to buy as many diapers as we can right now, so that the expense will be taken care of by the time the baby comes. However, she told me last night that she believes the best place to get the most diapers for the lowest price would be Wal-Mart. I, however, would prefer not to give our family's money to this company. So is there any place that you know of where disposable diapers can be bought for the same price or lower than at Wal-Mart? NOTE: We don't qualify for any aid programs, and cloth diapers are not something my wife wants. Keonlise: If I buy at Sam's Club, the money still goes to Wal-Mart. The other stores you mentioned do not exist in my area. NOTE: To those suggesting Target, we do have this store in the area, but my wife will not believe that Target will be less expensive or as expensive as Wal-Mart. NOTE: We are aware that newborns outgrow newborn-sized diapers. We plan to buy different sizes so the baby will have diapers as he or she grows.

- I personally really have had great success with Target brand diapers! I buy the mega pack that has approximately 90 diapers in it and the price is $13.89!!! I have gone through every brand on the face of the Earth at one point or another. Every baby's shape is different and some diapers leak for one, and not another. We have 3 children and have used different diapers on each. But like I said, the best ones I have found are Target brand. I would just get a few packages for not because you will want to see what works best for your baby! Also, they grow out of the newborn and size 1 diapers extremely fast!
- Try Cosco, Sam's Club, or BJ's. Buying in bulk really saves you a lot. It's hard to be completely ethical if you want to save money because usually Wal-mart has the best prices. OR TRY DIAPERS.COM. I'm not sure if it's cheaper than Walmart but lots of people buy diapers from there. *I didn't know Wal-mart owned Sam's Club...hmmm...now I really don't have any suggestions!
- Just a tip keep all the receipts in case your baby is allergic to any of the brands you buy so you can exchange them for the right ones.
- Babies grow fast, so don't buy too many of one size. You'll only end up taking them back. I wouldn't recommend too many newborn size. I got my diapers at Meijer, I absolutely can't stand Walmart. If there isn't a Meijer Store near you, try Costco or Target. Costco you can buy in bulk for cheaper, but like I said, babies grow fast through the first two stages of diapers so be careful buying in bulk for a newborn. Good luck with the new baby.
- I would say try K- Mart, Target, or even a drugstore like Walgreens or Rite-Aid. The latter two usually have good coupons in their sales flyers. Dont buy to many diapers at a time, their little rear ends grow faster than you would think.
- your wife will soon find that price is not the only thing she will care about in a diaper, i recommend luvs, since you do not want to use cloth which is really the way to go, they have come a long way they are a lot easier, less expensive and potty training is achieved a lot sooner also keep your eyes out for sales, you can go on line and get a lot of coupons, when some babay's are born they wear preemie diapers some wear newborn some wear larger, so be careful on strocking up on diapers you cannot use
- Well if you don't want to purchase from Walmart & your wife doesn't believe Target it worth trying that really starts to limit your options. I'm pretty sure walmart would be cheapest, I've had great luck with Target & they're a lot cheaper than name brands but you've already nixed those as options. The only other stores I can think of to try ot Kmart & Walgreens type places.
- BJs for sure! And be sure to let people know, when they are asking to come visit and bring gifts for the newborn, that diapers would be GREATLY appreciated!
- I'd vote for Costo, then. Toys R Us/Babies R Us has good deals, too, and they accept manufacturer's coupons. Costco does not.
- Stores like Dollar General or Family Dollar. Most of them carry some of the name brands. But as some suggested, don't go overboard on stocking up on newborn cause some babies out grow those fast. Also baby might not be able to wear the ones you buy cause of sensitivity to the material in the diapers, and then you would have to take all those back and either swap them or get your money back and that would mean keeping up with the receipt for 5 months, cause alot of places will not even exchange things without one. I would just buy 1 or 2 packs to start of new born, and then buy as needed. Also most hospitals will send some home with you. You can also go to websites like huggies. com or pampers.com and sign up to receive coupons.
- Well, I dont like Wal Mart much either but I get diapers there since they are about 2 miles down the road from the house. You can buy online at Amazon.com or through the websites of most major diaper makers. Once baby comes though you may have to suck it up and spend the 10 bucks there if thats the cheapest and you are desperate!
- My husband and I avoid shopping at Walmart as well. It depends on whether you mean name brand diapers for the least expense or generic or store brand of diaper, which of course will tend to be less expensive. For a store brand, you might try the grocery store. Loblaws/Superstore/etc.. (goes by different names - wherever sells the President's Choice products) has the store brand Teddy's Choice, which are pretty inexpensive, especially if you wait for the sales (they often go on sale for a few dollars less per package). I'm not sure about Walmart pricing as I never go there, but I would keep watching the flyers for sales (if you get them), and you can often get a few dollars off on any brand if you shop around. You have the time to do this too as your baby is not due for several months. One thing I would caution you about, is that you may not find that all brands work well for your baby (and this can change through the months as well). There were points that we had to switch types because of too many leaks, but it did get better. Best of luck!
- so when people ask you when are you do, can I come visit at the hospital. tell them to bring diapers instead of clothes. how about on line like amazon? other stores like... kmart, walgreens, cvs look on line and compare their brand of diapers. congrats and happy shopping!
- Take your wife to target. They really are cheaper and they worked really good for my son. If she doesn't want to go then you can go and snap a shot of the price on a camera phone and show it to her. This is what my bf and I do.
- Ok so I get my diapers from diapers.com . You have to buy them bulk like a case at a time but it is cheaper than walmart. I also get my formula there as well .Becareful how many diapers like newborn you buy. My son never fit into the newborn diapers and I had return a whole bunch of them .
- Try the Amazon.com Subscribe & Save Program - you can usually get a good price (better than or comparable to Wal-Mart) on Huggies and/or Pampers. Plus no tax and they ship to your front door for free. I agree with others to buy a variety of sizes. Newborn diapers go up to 10 lbs., so buy more size 1-2.
- I would recommend holding off on purchasing too many diapers ahead of time... I have so many diapers that my son out grew before using. I personally feel there are better ways to spread out spending in advance... and I felt the same way heading into delivery... SPREAD OUT SPENDING.. But it didn't work out well for us. For example, purchase a lot of wipes or things that do not require sizing. Our son is 3 months old, wearing size 3 diapers and 6-9 month clothes. He's not fat at all, just a big boy. It kills me to see all these diapers unused. I am planning on gifting them to someone for a shower which means they aren't a waste, but in my eyes, money not well spent. Just a thought, from personal (recent) experience. Obviously now that he's in 3s we can start stocking up a little, but as for the smaller sizes, we started in NB, then Size 1 about 2 weeks later, then 2s on long after that... Walmart allows exchanges, but TARGET (i hate this store for returns) makes it really difficult. Also keep in mind one great fitting diaper on one kid, does not fit the same on another. My nephew wheres Huggies, and were highly recommend to us but for our son, they leaked all the time. Just be careful you are not spending a bunch of money on something that doesn't work for the shape of your baby. Some just fit better than others. There's nothing that can ruin a new mothers day faster than a poop explosion and extra laundry. Good luck with the new baby! They grow so fast!
- so what you got against walmart?
- In all honesty, I wouldn't buy more than one or two packs of diapers right now. You need to wait and find out what fits your baby properly and see if (s)he is a heavy wetter or not. All disposable diapers are different and what works for one may not work for another and it's something that you have to learn as you go along and your child grows. What I would do is get yourself a coffee can or jar and everytime you have the money to buy diapers between now and when your child is born, put the money in that container and then after your baby arrives, you will have the money available to buy the proper fitting diaper at the time you really need it. Another thing you have to watch is that the cheaper diapers most times don't hold as much as the brand name diapers do and you will wind up changing them more often. What this means is that a lot of times, in the long run, it will cost you more to use cheap diapers then it would to use the brand name diapers because you have to change the baby more often. The other thing, by changing more often that relates to more work for you, possible more chance of diaper rashes for your baby. I know you said that cloth is not an option your wife wants but keep in mind that the cloth diapers used today are not like the cloth diapers your grandma used. No more diaper pins, no more plastic pants if you buy the right ones. With flushable liners that can be used in them it also reduces the mess in the washing mahine. Also think of the comfort of your baby. Cloth is softer and less irritating to the skin. Some babies are allergic to the chemicals that are used in disposable diapers. If you would like to read more about them just follow this link, it's an eye opener. http://stores.ebay.com/hlnatural_W0QQssPageNameZstrkQ3amefsQ3amesstQQtZkm Congratulations on your pending arrival of your first child, it sounds like you will be caring parents. Good luck.
