Cloth diapering and mama care?
So i started cloth diapering with my almost two year old recently when it crossed my mind that i wanted to cloth diaper our new child due in may. So i bought prefols and vinyl pants, two aio, and made several fitted diapers. My question is how hard is it to cloth diaper 2 children at once? My gandmother insists it's easy as she did it with four boys but i would like to know NOW mom's opinions. Should i by more aio's? What wraps work best? Can i make my own and out of what? And since i will use cloth for my kids i though how convienent would it be to wash my lunar flow away and not wear uncomfy chemical pads. Any mom's do this and tips on how to make it easy and pain free for my husband? i know alot of questions but i would appreciate the advice. thanks

- I just had a baby girl ..shes 8 months now..I started using reg diapers..but found out she was alergic to the adhesive on the diaper..So I switched to Bamboo Diapers..they are naturally antibacterial..and they are SUPPER absorbent ..meaning that yes they get real wet outside , so u'll need to put a vinyl diaper on top..but at least your baby wont wake up at night because he feels wet ..I would recommend the pre-folded diapers ..meaning you dont need pins ..because seriosuly that is such a pain!!!..i bought a bag of 24 bamboo diapers..which were over 200 something dollars..but it;'s still a savings, healthier for the baby, and kinder to our environment..You just throw them all in the wash at the end of the day..24 is all you'll need really..and you only need about 2 vinyl wraps for the outside of diaper, because since they are plastic you can just wipe it with baby wipe with every diaper change..the site i've put in here isnt the one I bought it from..but this is what they look like..no pins needed..SOO EASY..my daughter never gets any diapers rashes anymore If you can't afford that, you could just buy 2 vinyl wraps..put any cotton rags inside of it..works too..I did that as well, before I discovered the bamboo diapers
- I've done it! Well, not my own all at once, but i do childcare and tell the parents that i prefer they bring cloth. i have had 2-3 toddlers in cloth, as well as infant twins. I also make and use cloth mama pads, which I throw in with the dipes and wipes. As for what to use. Ditch the vinyl pants if you can, they are nightmare inducing to get on and off and don't breathe as well as PUL covers or fleece pants. I would probably save the AIOs for special occasions, dad duty, or lazy days. I stick with prefolds and Bummis Super Whisper Wrap covers, or fitteds and fleece pants. Since you sew, i would whip up a bunch more fitteds, because they typically go on and off like a paper diaper and are easy for thee cloth skittish. My favorite thing for covering fitteds are pants (short or long) made from poly-fleece (if you hold it up to the light and can not see through it, its thick enough to be water proof.) They keep pee in, but breathe well and can be reused a few time before washing and are cheaper and less allergenic and lower maintenance than wool.
