Diapers Q&A

adult incontinence and diapers/pullups?

Does anyone have personal experience with both goodnites and tena brand pullups? Background: I'm male, 152 lbs and have used goodnites during the daytime with fair success. I have urge-type incontinence which translates to 2-3 'mild' accidents throughout the daytime, and the goodnites have been perfect (male-incontinence shields bunch up and leak). At night, I use the Tena diapers, and have now started considering the pullups for daytime use. They are advertised as close-fitting to the body and basically undetectable (why I like the goodnites); however, I'm wondering about their performance. Again, the goodnites have worked very well for me, however, the baby-ish designs occasionally get to me; though I've accepted this as part of my life (at least for now), I would like to feel abit more 'adult.' I have a very supportive GF, but sometimes I'm embarrassed when she sees me in the 'baby' diapers, less so in the adult diapers. Any 'serious' advice is appreciated.

  1. Pullups work very well. I am a hospice nurse and many of my patients that are still up and around use the pullups. They are more like underwear and they are absorbent enough to handle mild accidents in the daytime without any problem. Good luck and kudos to you for dealing so well with the situation. Some don't. Hope this helped.
  2. My grandmother is elderly and has parksinos there for she can never make it ot the rest room and we couldnt find anything to keep her dry but finally we tryed serienty depends and they have worked best for and they evan sell them at the doller store name brand for 5 dollers a package and you cant evan tell she has them on and she says they are the most comfy less diaper fellling she has tryed and she has USED EVERY KIND
  3. Try www.adultdiapers.org. They have a ton of kinds and types. My 13 yr old nephew has physical and mental problems and has home delivery of such items. I'd think the underwear type would certainly be the best choice, instead of tape tabs.
  4. try www.northshorecare.com my aunt had an incontinence problem that was pretty bad and we got all of her supplies thru them. they have several adult pull-up varieties in several flow types. she prefered the pullup to the tape, said they fit better and stayed in place no matter what she was doing. in pants you can't tell you are wearing them. maybe you can find something to fit your needs. hug your g/f she deserves it, so many are not supportive.
