How many diaper bags have you gone through?
I just recently had to replace my sons diaper bag because it had a whole in it I didn't think that would ever be possible. I was wondering by the time your child is potty trained how many diaper bags would you of gone through? Also do you stop carrying around diaper bags once your child is potty trained or just continue to use them as luggage for clothes and stuff?

- I have gone through 2 total and I have 3 kids 5, 3 1/2 and 2. At age 2 I stop carrying one around, my purse is big enough for a diaper and a couple wipes. If it is a bigger trip I usually bring the bag. My first bag was a backpack and was just too big and we still have it and use it for overnight trips so really I have only used one and it is the free one I got in the hospital. Once they are potty trained I usually carry a pair of underwear in my purse for them incase of an accident, or they have a little backpack with extra stuff in it for them.
- I have only used one diaper bag however it is starting to be too small now that I have to haul around whole meals even when we only go to the park which is less than a block away. My son is 16 months. I think most moms carry stuff around for a long time and a bag is a bag. If you like your diaper bag you will probably keep using it.
- I've gone through 2 diaper bags and I have 2 current bags, a large one and a small one. Now that my oldest is potty trained, I don't carry things for her. I have a baby as well, so that's why I still carry one. I don't carry extra clothes for her, although I do have some "just in case" pullups in the diaper bag. If the baby isn't coming, though, I don't bother bringing it. Most diaper bags suck and are very cheaply made. I paid an arm and a leg for an Eddie Bauer diaper bag and it's the only one that has lasted. I did have to take a lot of velcro off it, though. They went crazy with the velcro!
- My wife and I still have the one we bought with or daughter who is 3 now. She uses it for our son also and he is 8 mnths old. How ever my wife likes to spend money so we have a few diaper bags. Once the child is potty trained you may carry a extra set of cloths around but I see no need to carry a bag with you. The child will want to carry there cup, snacks, stuffed animals. Or you can ask them to carry something to make them feel like there helping out. which children love.
- Ladies, do you remember your first diaper bag? Was it huge? I carried a bottle and a formula packet. My baby never took a bottle of formula, but it was there just in case! I made great use of the hospital freebies. I threw away the formula samples that came in it. Those were the best. After those became stained and torn, I used big purses. I still use large purses. I buy them on sale at Target or JC Penney, so it's no problem if they get ruined. When my older child potty-trained, I still had a baby in diapers. I anticipate using the large purse until my kids are in kindergarten. They have so much stuff.
