could you put a diaper on a dog...?
yes, I agree this is an idiotic question. if i supposedly placed a diaper on my dog, will it harm the dog severely, or harm the dog at all? * dogs pee and poop all over the place, why not place a diaper on it!?

- They make diapers just for dogs with a hole cut out for their tail. You could buy them at a petstore. Some dogs know how to take them off though.
- If the dog pees and poops all over the place why don't you try training it? THAT would be the logical solution
- diapers cost alot for gods sake and dogs don't look good in them either way.
- actually, my sister (when her oldest son was still in diapers) put a diaper on her rat terrier puppy because she was in heat but didn't keep herself clean and she didn't want blood all over. however, they were plain diapers and it don't know if it would cause any irritation.
- What's easier picking up the poop or washing it off the dog's backside? It's not natural housebreak the critter, that what people usually do.
- I've seen people put a diaper on a female dog , when thier in heat, but not just so they want go to potty in the floor, I would say that it would be a really nasty mess to have to clean up. I might do it if the dog is so old that it can't get around anymore and it did't have long to live
- Diapers should never be used on puppies or healthy adult dogs. The diapers hold feces and urine against the dogs skin and can cause rashes, irritation, and severe infections. They are not a substitute for potty training, nor a way to ignore your dog all day without finding a mess when you get home. Also, if your dog has any hair at all, the diaper will ruin it, causing it to become stained and matted, and your dog will have to be shaved. The ONLY acceptable use for diapers (and bear in mind you MUST use dog-diapers and not baby diapers) is for very old incontinent dogs that are medically incapable of holding their bowels. The dog must either be short haired, or you have to shave it down short to avoid the hair getting nasty in the process. They should be changed frequently to prevent irritation, and you'll have to wipe the dog off with baby wipes or warm water when you change them. Using some diaper-rash ointment like Desitin would be a good idea too. Overall, it's a bad idea, but if it's the only way to keep an older dog in the house with you, it can be done. *** And just a side note, we use diapers on babies because they are too young to potty train. When they're old enough, we train them. Using diapers on a dog as a replacement for training is like forcing a child to wear diapers all it's life because you're too lazy to teach him or her anything.
- I put a diaper on my dog when she was in heat. I used one of those 'Pull up' diapers that are for older children because they have a stretchy side. I cut a hole out for her tail. I only put them on her for short periods of time and took them off when she needed to go outside to the toilet and then put a fresh one back on when she came back inside.
