- The first years diaper disposer. You can get it a babies r us. Its great, you really cant smell the diapers. http://www.toysrus.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2603396 If you read the reviews, you'll be put off. I have it, it really works, with the top shut, you cant smell the worst of poopie diapers.
- We have had great success with a little flip-top can (the kind with the lever that you step on). We purchased it at Target, though I've seen similar ones at Pottery Barn and Walmart alike, and a simple plastic grocery bag fits perfectly inside. It hold about one day's worth of dirty diapers, and at the end of the day, we simply tie the handles of the bag and toss it. NO mess, no, fuss, no expense. Because you'll be taking diapers out daily, the smell never gets bad at all (though you can always still use the odor cakes if you want to!) and you never need to buy liners. You also never need to take your attention off of your child to dispose of the diaper- there's no pushing, twisting, or jamming like some "systems." After this success, I'd never spend the money on a diaper genie! It's an attractive can that we'll be able to use long after our daughter is out of diapers.
- While at my parents' house, we tie each one in an old plastic grocery back and just throw them in the trash. You can't smell it, unless you open it up and try to throw another one it there. I don't recommend doing that...from experience. If you want some extra "freshness" throw a scented dryer sheet in the trash to mask any other smells.
