Is it Extra of Me to have purchased a designer Diaper Bag?
I havent actually purchased it yet, I've bid on it on ebay. But I have to wonder if I'm not being a little too high maintenance. Before I became pregnant, I had a love affair with designer bags. I have so many you wouldn't believe, but really, now that I am pregnant, I really should be conserving funds. Well I have saved up a nice little nest egg for my boo boo but I had some extra money on hand so I bid on a Coach Diaper bag and a Diane von Furstenburg diaper bag... Am I terrible for it? I dont know if it's stupid of me considering what I have set aside for my baby. I have bought all his furniture, set aside money for clothes as he will need them, and have set aside the money for his day care and formula. Not to mention for the day care, im being reimbursed for 85% of our expenses. Daddy has great benefits. So I had a little extra and just went for it... maybe it is a little extra of me

- You don't need it, and neither does your baby
- Terrible? No. Alittle impractical..yeah. But that is just my opinion. If you can afford that along w/ all the real baby needs, go for it.
- Not if you can afford it and that's what you wanted.
- Dont do it. Its gonna stink most of the time anyway.
- It's your money, do what you want with it. Just make sure that you don't ever spend your money on "material" things before your baby's needs.
- i say get it. if it makes you fell better, do it.
- No girl Splurge if it makes you feel good, soon every penny's going to be going to the baby anyway!!!
- No I have a Juicy bag that has lasted through three kids!!!
- considering you will be putting clothes into it that have been spit up on or that have had a diaper blowout on them, i would say that needing a designer bag is a bit over the top. i would go for form and function over style and designer.
- No, you are not terrible for it, if you can afford it, why not. I can't even afford to buy groceries right now, but don't feel terrible for splurging, just know that in the future you may need to be more frugal with your money, so if you ever get in a rut, don't buy any designer bags !!!
- yeah diaper bag get dragged everywhere can get ruined, worn out so why spend all the money for just a diaper bag small amounts of money spent can get you further in the long run when it comes to baby shoppin i know it can be hard you want to have all the best stuff i wanted the same thing lol but then i thought about it and saved tons of money
- I think your babys dirty smelly diapers will look wonderful in it :)
- You had an affair with designer bags before you were pregnant? And, which designer bag ~ may I ask ~ is the father ? x p.s. It is SO extra of you !!!
- Definitely your choice if you can afford to do that. I would rather spend money on other things, but to each his own. Good luck with the remainder of your pregnancy, and I wish you a healthy and safe labor.
- They look nice but thats it..they dont have any other specal features that normal diaper bags come with...I say save the money for something the BABY could actually use..Other people wouldnt even care to look at it anyways..u would pretty much just be getting it for u to enjoy, why spend all that money? buy a very pretty crib instead! Good luck!
- It is 'extra' of you? No, it's just stupid.
- Splurge if you can, girl! Don't feel bad..but you should also think about all the little things you'll need right away as soon as baby comes :) you might want to start stocking up now because they go through these fast: shampoo, lotion, baby powder, diaper rash ointment, baby tylenol, nose syringe, nail clippers, brush, comb, tons of newborn size diapers, formula (if not breastfeeding), wipes, small boombox, classical music cd (my babies loved to sleep to that). Don't forget about burp cloths, towel & receiving blankets. I think the diaper bag could be the one thing for you & baby :) It's ok just don't overdo it on other items because then we will find yourself pinching pennies really fast.
- I would just make sure you know the item is authentic. I would never purchase designer items on ebay, there are too many fakes out there. I personally buy only authentic bags from the store. I also have a love affair with designer bags, I actually worked extra jobs at my school (run the student council, tutor in an after school program) before I had my baby to fund my obsession. I have a Coach baby bag, but I bought it with extra money I earned. I would never use my teaching salary to pay for it, my husband would kill me!
- Its your money BUT babies are expensive and they are more important things to buy than a designer diaper bag. I bought a diaper bag at Wal*Mart and it cost me about $15.00 and is just as nice as a designer bag.
- you can just use a nice big purse that you have!! you dont need a diaper bag!
- Terrible?? NO. If you can afford it, do it. I wish that I could afford something like that. I'd love to have ONE designer bag. But I guess Im not that lucky. Im 22 years old, married, 38 weeks pregnant with my first, and currently work 45 hours per week just to get by. Girl -- Like I said, If you can afford it, Spend it!! Spoil that little one but make sure they know the value of a dollar.
- No. If u want it for ur baby & can afford it...get it. I bought a designer diaper bag & don't feel bad about it b/c it's what I wanted.
- If you can afford it, go for it.
- Gee you deserve some new things too. Wow a Coach diaper bag - I didnt even have a clue they had a diaper bag.
