Diapers Q&A

Disposable Diapers Questions

Disposable Diapers? Which disposable diapers do you feel are the best for the baby and are somewhat earth friendly. I have heard of chlorine free diapers and cotton filled instead of gel filled diapers. I have been to both stores in my areas and have not found anything but Huggies, Pampers, Luvs and Parents Choice. They don't seem to have anthing like what I mentioned above. Is there any other diaper out there that is disposable that is better for baby and planet than the 4 above that I mentioned. You can give your opinion on the whole cloth verses disposable diaper, but I would like some honest opinions on the disposable diaper and info on any kind of biodegradable earth friendly type disposable. Thank you.
Where can I buy affordable disposable dog diapers? My dog is 17 and she needs diapers. Today I bought a pack of 12 disposable diapers for almost $17.00. She can't wear the washable diapers because they give her a rash. Please let me know if there is a place where I can buy doggie diapers for cheaper.
What is that absorbent stuff inside disposable diapers? I accidentally threw a[n unused] disposable diaper in with my laundry tonight, and it exploded everywhere, leaving little clear gelatinous globules covering my laundry, my washing machine, and my hands. Just what is this stuff inside diapers, anyway? And do I have to rinse the globules out of everything before I re-wash it? Is this stuff somehow toxic, and are we all going to die!?? (kidding on that one)
Are there any white disposable diapers on the market that are all white? I'm looking for white disposable diapers that do not have all those crazy characters on them, or that have very minimal designs. Perhaps the store brands? Do TenderCare diapers have disgns on them. Please help!
Are there any countries that have banned the use of disposable diapers and similar products? I have been using cloth diapers with both of my children pretty much since day one and am about to use cloth with a third baby. I know all the reasons not to use disposable diapers but it seems that so many people out there don't even think about it when they use a disposable diaper and it's really frustrating because I know just how bad they are for the environment and for our children's health. I don't want to sound like a tree hugger though and stop every parent that walks into a changing station and start preaching about it. I have heard though that many other countries are starting to inform parents about the hazards of disposable diapers and promoting cloth again. Are there any countries out there that have completely banned disposables all together? Are there any countries that never made the switch from cloth to disposables in the first place? Oh, and I don't use a diaper service either. I just take it off baby, shake off any loose poo into the toilet and throw into the diaper pail. Then once diaper pail is full, about every two to three days, take the pail and dump into my high efficiancy front loading washer and put through one rinse cycle and thena regular wash cycle then put into dryer. It's just that simple in case anyone is wondering. Also, today's cloth diapers are not what grandma would have used with pins and rubber pants. Most have velcro or snaps and go on just like a disposable and look just like a disposable only made with cloth instead.
What is more harmful for the environment, disposable or cloth diapers? I know it is often stated that disposable diapers are terrible for the environment as they take ages to break down, but what about the chemicals used and energy costs of cleaning cloth diapers? Which one is more or less polluting? Disposables that end up buried in landfills or cloth ones that create more carbon pollution in the air?
Is there a service that can recycle disposable diapers? I was going to use cloth, but disposable is all we have now, and I was wondering if there have been any steps taken to reduce our pollution issues dealing with diapers.
Why do dirty disposable diapers smell worse than dirty cotton diapers? I've been putting regular cotton diapers on the baby during the day and disposable diapers at night. Have two bins accumulating each kind in the room. The disposable ones smell much worse. Why is this?
Does being raised in disposable diapers lead to infertility? Me and my DH are having a tough time getting pregnant. My husband wore those mega thick, plastic, no air flow disposable diapers from the early 80's and I am starting to wonder if it may have done some damage to him. My mom used disposables on me too from time to time but I am fine according to my doctor. She told me this problem usually only affects males.
how long does it take for disposable diapers to decompose? i'm just trying to get my facts straight in the debate between cloth and disposable diapers.
Menstrual pads or disposable diapers--which is worse for the environment? There's talk of "banning" disposable diapers in years to come. But babies only wear them for about 2-3 years of their lives. What about menstrual pads: are they better, worse or about the same on the environment?
what percent of people in general or just in the us use cloth diapers and what percent use disposable diapers? this is for my science report. what percent of people in general or just in the u.s. use cloth diapers and what percent use disposable diapers? PEOPLE PLEASE DONT TELL ME TO RESEARCH IT BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY YAHOO ANSWERS IS MORE OF A LAST RESORT....FOR THAT ONE GUY DONT TELL ME TO GOOGLE IT BECAUSE IVE GOOGLED THE HELL OUT OF IT.
Disposable diapers and bottle feeding? How lazy can people be? Why do women who choose to bottle feed and/or use disposable diapers constantly make excuses for their laziness? I worked after having my children, and I was still able to breastfeed for the first 4 months (then express to 2 bottles a day) and cloth diaper. Seriously, how lazy are mothers now?
Has anyone used the gbaby disposable/cloth style diapers? Do they work? DO they save you any money verses buying the regular disposable diapers in the long run?
do you use disposable diapers or the cloth one? i know in cloth diapers you'll gonna have a hard time to laundry them especially when they're soiled while the disposable ones makes your baby have rahes.
Which brand of disposable diapers can cause a baby to have diaper rash more often? My 1 year old son seems to constantly have diaper rash. I have started using baby powder and letting his butt air out for about 30 minutes every day, and it has helped wonderfully. But I have read that the absorbent gel in the diapers can cause a rash. I just wanna know different opinions out there. Which brand can cause diaper rash the most and which brand can cause it the least. Also, which diapers have the least about of gel in them? Thanks!
Is it bad to individually wrap disposable diapers in plastic grocery bags before disposing of them? On the one hand, I figure I'm recycling the bags. On the other, intuitively it seems that this would make them take longer to decompose in a landfill. However, diaper pails just don't contain the smell. I'm a hassled, over-worked mother of two toddler boys, and I'm just not up for washing cloth diapers.
How can I stop people from putting their dirty disposable diapers in my trash? More then once these young mothers have put soiled diapers right in my kitchen area in the trash and not even in the covered trash can? right beside the bin..and they smell and they expect me to clean up after them...what am i too tell these mothers?

What brands of disposable diapers are available unscented? Parent-to-be has picked up a pack of Pampers. Now: panic! I did not know that the modern diaper stank like hell. Really, those things reek; the smell's still on my hand. And that's just from the exterior wrapping! I can find obscure brands on-line claiming to be unscented, but is there anything I can pick up in a store that doesn't smell? Re. cloth: yeah, they're looking better and better all the time.
how much do you spend on disposable diapers a month? I'm expecting my first and trying to budget. So how much would you say you spend in an average month?
Is it safe to store disposable diapers? My daughter is outgrowing her size 1 diapers and I have about 100 left. Is it safe to store the diapers for when we have baby #2? We plan on trying for our second baby in about 4 years, so is it okay to put the diapers away for that long? I just don't want them to go to waste especially since they would come in handy when we have our second baby. Thanks!
How much do you spend on disposable diapers roughly? I want to do cloth and want to see a comparison? maybe in a week or a month whatever you can calculate
what are the benefits for the baby using cloth diapers vs. disposable diapers? i didn't try cloth diaper coz i don't really know what are the benefits for my baby by using it.
Which brand of disposable diapers do you recommend? I'm having a boy and I'm starting to get the nursery finished and ready to buy some diapers. I've used Pampers in the past on girls, this time I'm having a boy, I've also heard that Huggies are pretty good. I would like to know what brand of diapers you like and if you have a boy/girl?... I just am worried about leaks and such after his circumcision
Do you consider it lazy to use disposable diapers? I'm not saying it's lazy lol, I've heard this said and I wonder your opinions!
I'm an adult and want to wear disposable diapers/nappies - is this unusual? I'm not incontinent but feel that it is comfortable and practical. The time saved when working or gaming is very useful at times. No sexual urge here...

Do you prefer using disposable diapers or non-disposable diapers? Not sure what is going to be there better option for me economically and if I am going to be able to handle cleaning the non-disposable (cloth) ones by hand.
What do disposable diapers feel like? I have always wanted to wear one.
How many people wore disposable diapers as babies? If so, what year were you born and what brand. I was born in 1978 and my mom used Luvs and Huggies (which were both relatively new at the time).
Are the chemicals in disposable diapers toxic? Just wanted to know if they contain chemicals in those crystals that are carcinogens or could pose any kind of health risks to my children? Thanks! It seems that the crystals end up on my children no matter how often I change them.
What's a good brand of disposable diapers? Theres so many to chose from and I want to buy ones that will be leak proof.
what percent of babies wear disposable diapers and what percent of kids wear cloth diapers? this is for my science fair project. ALSO, PLEASE DO NOT TELL ME TO RESEARCH IT, OR GOOGLE IT, BECAUSE OBVIOUSLY, YAHOO ANSWERS IS MY LAST RESORT. I HAVE ALREADY DONE EVERYTHING I CAN IN RELATION TO RESEARCH AND GOOGLE AND FOUND NOTHING.
What ultimately does more harm to the environment, disposable or cloth diapers? As we all know, disposables create non-biodegradable waste. But I'm finding that cloth diapers require lots and lots of hot water for their very frequent loads of laundry. Hot water not only uses up our diminishing water supply, but also energy to heat the water. Thoughts?
Where can I buy bulk (disposable) diapers in the Hamilton-Wentworth (Ontario, CANADA) area? I'm looking for a store/place to buy larger amounts of diapers; in order to save money. I asked this question before and got some really good feedback for places in the GTA; but I'm wondering if there is anything closer to Hamilton.
Are cloth diapers cheaper than disposable diapers? The cloth diaper service in my area offers 54 cloth diapers for 19.00 flat rate and 3 dollars more for every extra dozen. Is it worth it? I won't have to wash any of them as they wash and drop off once a week.
what are the best disposable diapers to use on your baby? i'm not looking for the most expensive kind or anything. just the ones that rarely leak and help to keep your baby from getting a diaper rash. i'm going to be a new mom soon, so i want to plan right
Parents: Ok This may date a few Parents but, Did you like the Old Plastic Disposable Diapers? Or do you like the diapers how they are made now? Forget the Enviromental Issuue on this one cause if this was an Enviromental issue I wouldn't be talking about disposable diapers. I Just seemed to have like the Plastic Diapers better than the cloth like....Do you agree?
What percentages of adults wear disposable diapers and plastic pants.? There are a lot of sites on the internet that sell adult diapers and plastic pants. By the way I do have to wear them.
Do cloth diapers hold as much as disposable diapers? I am potty training my son, and want to try regular underpants. I have come across disposable diapers and thought that might be a good thing to try, because the sides would still come undone (just in case of a #2 accident). Does anyone know if they hold as much liquid as a disposable diaper? And would my son feel wetter than a disposable diaper. I want him to feel it so he will understand what it feels like before he has to go. The cloth diapers I have been looking at are the all in one waterproof ones, so I won't have to buy diaper covers. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
Is sodium polyacrylate only found in disposable diapers? and does any one know where to get cloth diapers anymore in canada? im doing a project for science fair so any websites about sodium polyacrylate would be appreciated.
Where can I buy bulk (disposable) diapers in Ontario? I don't mind online ordering; but I don't have a credit card.
Disposable diapers versus cloth diapers, what nonsense? I've never before heard such nonsense and rubish when it comes to pitting one against the other. I hear it all the time, "Oh if you use cloth diapers, you use so much water". Or, "All the laundry soap and washing and drying". People are so small minded. I guess there's no water used whatsoever in the pulp and paper process of manufacturing disposable diapers. (Ya right). Oh and of course, there's no other environmental concerns from big corporations poluting our waterways and water table systems. (Ya right once again). What about baby's comfort? I wouldn't dream of wearing disposables myself, so why would I put my baby in them? Their scatchy, rough, fit poorly, and look pathetic, never mind the asinine expense of affording them. I'm not at all against mothers who use disposable diapers, to each their own. But when people throw off the cuff comments around when they don't know what their talking about, it causes me to question people's sanity. Ignorance is not a virtue.
Disposing of disposable diapers? I live in the county and there is no trash pickup. Disposable diapers just do not burn they typically put the fire out or take weeks just to single and fill the fire barrel up. How do I get rid of these diapers? I know that cloth diapers are an option and that they are more environmentally responsible but it isn't my job to change the diapers just to dispose of them so it is not my choice and cloth is not an option. Extra lighter fluid? I dont use any lighter fluid and I dont want to. It is not safe and unless I soak the diapers beforehand in lighter fluid I wont burn anything but the lighter fluid. I just dumped my last trash barrel and it was nothing but gooey black diaper mush. A full barrel of it.
Disposable diapers.... ??? When using those disposable diapers... what makes them so absorbant? Is it harmfull???? Just wondering... I cloth diaper and my husband decided to use disposable diapers when I was in the hospital recently and our baby got a rash.. his rash is gone now that I have switched back to cloth. Just curious. Thanks! Doubt Changing was the problem... because my mother, sister in law, mother in law were also in on watching my son. I also tried dispossables on my older son when he was a baby and the same happened to him. Just curious as to why.
Disposable diapers? http://i218.photobucket.com/albums/cc298/curseofgoldendragon/napkin.jpg it says "Disposable diapers, while a convenience, are an environmental disaster." then again it says ,"Therefore, people should go back to buying, washing and reusing cloth diapers and Earth’s precious natural resources would not be consumed so rapidly" so the last sentence seems advocating the use of napkins ...right ? then why the first sentence calls it a "environmental disaster" pretty confusing.
Disposable diapers? A while back I came across a site that sold disposable diapers... the lining ripped apart and could be flushed or you could throw away and it decomposes in like 30 days. For the life of me I cannot remember what they are cold. For some reason I think i remember there being a 'G' logo. If you have even the slightest clue what I'm talking about or know of something similar please let me know! I don't want to be wasteful but I also don't want to use cloth.
Eco-friendly disposable diapers? Does anyone know of a good, inexpensive brand of non-bleached, no chemical diapers? I used Parents Choice with my daughter and loved them because they work and are cheap, but I'm trying to do things even better with my to-be baby. I wanted to go cloth, but hubby wouldn't have it. It's hard enough getting him to change diapers as it is, so I figure I'll just have to bend over on this one. Yes, I know cloth are easy, but I'm going to have to do disposable. What is your experience with "green" disposable diapers? What brand? Are they inexpensive? Thanks!
Cloth vs. disposable diapers? I have used disposable diapers for all three of my children. My youngest is 18 months and has been having a really bad diaper rash or reaction to the diaper. It goes down her theighs. I am considering switching to cloth diapers. I am looking for advise from parents who use them. About general use and your overall opinion. Thanks.
do you rinse out your disposable diapers? did you know that it's technically illegal NOT to? "the World Health Organization guidelines are being violated whenever human waste goes into the landfills. So, technically putting diapers into the trash without cleansing them is ILLEGAL." the EPA notes that " . . . a significant portion of the disposable diaper waste dumped in American's landfills every year is actually biodegradable human waste preserved forever." "American Academy of Pediatrics and The American Public Health Association advise that fecal matter and urine should not be allowed to be disposed of together in the regular trash, because it contaminates the ground water and spreads disease " "landfills contain 5 million tons of untreated human waste - a breeding ground for diseases that could potentially contaminate our groundwater. When you toss a disposable into the dumpster you are adding to the 84 million lbs. of raw fecal matter going to the environment per year. The Lehrburger report mentioned above also suggested that disposable diapers may represent a health risk at landfill sites and recommends that state health officials determine if diapers should be classified as infectious waste because of the untreated feces and urine they contain. There are an estimated 100 intestinal viruses living on the feces in landfills and these viruses are also possible contaminates of our water supplies and could latch on to the insects that would bring these diseases back to us." Just wondering how many people are actually aware of this… I just learned it myself. Anyone else ever hear about this? Anyone else concerned?? i'm concerned, i mean, it's filling up our landfills with a biohazard that spreads disease & contaminates our water... i'm not very comfortable with that! OH, and the package instructions say to flush the soiled part, & not to put it in the trash. this is why. i do plan to do cloth diapers, it was originally my plan to save money, and now this reinforces it :) the WHO is not the only place that says it's not allowed. fecal matter (of any kind) is not to be dumped in land fills, they're known as "human health hazards". if you think it's "looney" to worry about the spread of disease & the contamination of ground water, well, i'd say that says a lot more about you. SARAH- look at them again, i read the instructions off the side of the package myself. i think it was Huggies. my friends have noticed them too--in fact it was pointed out to me by one of my friends. and sewage goes to a treatment plant where the diseases are killed, and it's seperated from the ground water. yes, i have looked into that. LIL_PUMPKIN- it's actually up to 500 yrs, according to this site... http://www.changingwaysdiapers.com/cloth_vs.htm but i've seen different figures. it depends on the state of the diaper, tightly rolled around waste, only the outer, non-biodegradable part is exposed, so it takes longer. if it were open they'd decompose much faster. oh dear! i forgot to put the link to my original facts: http://www.diaperpin.com/clothdiapers/article_diaperdrama4.asp Jenadee-it's not the smell that i'm talking about, it's scentless, invisible pathogens getting into the water & infecting people with Hepatitis B & the like. but i'm sure there is a lot MORE that really shouldn't be thrown in a landfill than just diapers.
Cloth diapers or disposable diapers?? I have a friend who is trying to decide on using cloth diapers or disposable diapers. I would like to know what are the pros and cons with both. Thanks for all you answers in adavance.
Cloth vs. disposable diapers....? My one week newborn son is absolutely amazing. I love him more than I thought I could love anything and recently I've been wondering if disposable diapers are uncomfortable for him... I've seen cloth diapers endorsed on here but there are sooo many and I get so confused about which one to get and how to maintain them... all I want is for my lil angel to be comfy! Do you think disposables are truly uncomfy on him and cloth diapers would be worth the trouble? Thanks....
Cloth or Disposable diapers? What's your preference.? I'm looking to see if there is still a market to offer both cloth & disposable diapers for my diaper delivery service.
For Grandparents - Potty Training - Before Disposable Diapers? My mother in law tells me that when she had her children there were no disposable diapers. I am just wondering how patient were parents about potty training before disposable diapers? Did children potty train a bit earlier becaue of all the work involved in cloth diapers?
Cloth vs Disposable diapers? Hmm.. Here is a question for all the mom's out there. What is better Cloth or disposable diapers? I been doing some reading today about it. I'm still lost on what is better. If you have some info on this and have used Cloth and want to share how it was for you. I would love to hear it. Thanks for taking time to read this and answer.
cloth or disposable diapers? I am thinking about using cloth diapers, but there seems to be so many things to consider in my choice. Why did you choose cloth or disposable? if you use cloth now can you let me know where you bought them and what type you find work best. (prefold, flat, all-in-one, ect.)
Remove odor of disposable diapers from car seats.? I helped a friend of mine buy a used car about a month and a helf ago. She got a really good deal, on a '03 Elantra in great condition. Just a few days ago a faint smell started coming from the back seats. In just three days since we first noticed it, it has become unbearable. It is an unmistakable smell of disposable diapers, as though the previous owner left a stack of wet ones on the seat. The guy who sold it to us had it professionally cleaned, but that obviously didn't do the job... any ideas? First, thank you all for the good answers, all are useful and would be effective. Already know the charcoal trick. Vinegar and water is usually a great solution, as well as baking soda to absorb the odors. (depending on the source, baking soda for bacterial odors, charcoal for chemical ones.) Every odor question always gets a "febreeze" or "lysol" answer, the problem is I don't want a temporary fix, and both of these really only trap and mask the odor for a week tops. All of these solutions work for a short while to mask or trap the odor, but given a little time, will still return. The problem is (and i don't remember the specifics) there are some dry chemicals in disposable diapers for absorbency and odor. This is what gives them their distinctive odor, and it will get out if the diaper is over soaked. I've heard of this before, and of a solution, but I've yet to find it on the internet. The only recourse I have remaining is here, or calling a diaper manufacturer for info.

Do you think women who use disposable diapers on their babies all the time are lazy? I can understand them using disposable diapers on certain occasions like picnics, when they are traveling, at a store, or visiting another person's home but when they use them at home I think it is just being lazy. There is no need to waste that much diapers when they could use cloth ones and rewash them. What is your opinion on this?
Was it controversial to use disposable diapers back in the 1970's just like it is today? I was born in '78 and my mom used disposables on me. She said everybody who could afford them was using them, nobody was talking about landfill space as they do today. She went on to say that they were seen as innovative and much more comfortable for babies then cloth. So when and why did this whole guilt complex about using plastic diapers really start?? BTW - I personally think disposables are an awesome invention after babysitting my nephews. I don't get why people are still worked up over the whole "cloth v. disposable", I mean we all throw out a ton of GARBAGE everyday, all of us. It's a part of modern life and it's bizarre to waste so much time worrying about it. Just my $0.02 :D
Should I be ashamed that I was raised in disposable diapers????????? We were talking about the enviroment yesterday in biology class and the topic of garbage came up, how much we as humans create, etc. etc. Anyway disposable diapers came up as a item that is very wasteful. Naturally, my teacher laughed and said all of us probably wore disposable diapers since we were born in the early 90's and it was practically unheard for kids to wear cloth after mid seventies were over. Later on after school in Enviroment Club, I consider myself a Teen Greener after all :D, some of the girls mentioned the discussion and then everybody was saying they were all raised in cloth and I admitted my mom used Pampers/Huggies/Whatever and they all were like "you are such a hypocrite ha ha ha." WTF??? I can't control what my mom dressed me in when I was an infant? Loose Wheel - I totally suspected they were too. I was talking to my mom about it this evening and she said that those girls were full of it because it was very very unlikely their stupid butts didn't touch at least a couple of disposables in 1991/1992.
Did you wear Disposable or Cloth Diapers as a baby? My daughter was born six months ago and I remembered trying to decide whether to use cloth or disposable. My hubby was against cloth at first, but we decided to give it a shot. It has been wonderful. However, my mother can't go over it. She told me that when I was born (1978) that cloth was considered too uncomfortable and everybody was starting to use disposables. It seems that the cloth vs. disposable diaper debate will go on forever. So ladies, which kind did you wear?
Cloth swim diapers or disposable swim diapers? Which is better? My daughter (1 year) will be starting swim classes soon. We have cloth "Swim Diapers" that have the special lining to prevent poop from going in the water. We also bought some Huggies Little Swimmers Disposable Swim Diapers. Which is better? Do the Huggies soak up water? Do the cloth swim diapers really work?
Disposable Diapers or Cloth Diapers or a Combination? My wife and I are trying to have a baby and the discussion of diapers came up. With the extrordinary expense and the sheer waste of "plastic" diapers we have talked about going back to rewashable cloth diapers and using "plastic" diapers only in an emergency or if we are traveling... what do you all think?
cloth or disposable diapers? moms, i would like to start a debate right here (tada) in this question about diapers. just a few facts, did you know that disposiable diapers are not ment to hold the poop in the trash, you are suppose to shake it off in the toilet jsut like a cloth diaper; reason; because the poop ends up in our land fills and poultes the ground with human pathogens and increasing the risk of the spread of disease. also, it take 500 years for a disposible diaper to biodegrate and 18-23 billion are thrown away each year. in time for the first years of diapers to biodegrate, 8,500,000,000,000-11,000,000,000,000 will be degrating still. we all know that diapers wernt around for 500 years and that they wont be for much longer, but could you imagine??? please just post opnions, not hate. as for me, i use old fashioned cloth diapers and covers. they work just fine for us. i use chemical free detergent adn viniger to wash, it only takes 20 minutes to dry them and about 60 to wash them. i only wash one... load every other day and it take no effort to fold, its harder to hang shirts, IMO..... hahahah, dont you like how there are sooo many 0's in the second number that the computer just put ...... after it!!!! there were 12 of them.... haha, to CK. your right, we need golf.......ya know, more than our planet. giggle~~~ winnie, you have never tried them, i assume, because i thought the same thing but they are so easy to use, if not easier, you dont put poo in your washing machine and that is why i expalined that you dont use a lot of extra enengy because you only really have to do it every other day and a lot of peeps hang dry. can you believe that the first disposiable was made in 1942, and was make to only hold one wetting??? aww, i would never bleach a diaper, thats why you had rashes, thats crazy!! ahhhhhh! sun dry to get stains out silly!
Natural disposable diapers? My baby has bad diaper rash issues and I would like to change to a more natural diaper (no dye, perfume, etc.) However, the ones I have tried have been stiff and scratchy instead of soft like Huggies. I also tried G Diapers, but they get soaking wet and don’t keep the wetness away from the baby’s skin, which is like instant diaper rash for my baby. Any suggestions?
cloth diapers or disposable diapers, and why? i was talking to my husband about using cloth cause alot of babies get rashes, alergies to diapers. and also they are so expensive. so if i were to choose cloth how do you wash them, what do you do when they are poopy...lol...when i was little they had diaper service. so wich would you choose is the best way to go? i just feel that at 10 dollars for 12 cloth diapers is not bad and if you buy say 100 dollars worth you are still saving money right?
Cloth diapers or disposable diapers? I am having my first child and I was wondering whether to go with cloth diapers or dispobable diapers. Could you give me the benefits of each as well as any short comings with each? Which one do you prefer and does going with cloth diapers really save money? Thank you to everyone that answers.
Cloth Diapers VS Disposable diapers? I was on Many websites! about these diapers! That are so not like the old fashioned way. But now Its much eaiser and so less expensive. What Im asking is Has anybody tried cloth diapers as of called now PREFOLDS* With Bummis Super Wrap Covers! Whats your commets on them. thanks!
Thanks!

I just wanna know different opinions out there. Which brand can cause diaper rash the most and which brand can cause it the least. Also, which diapers have the least about of gel in them? Thanks!

Cloth vs. disposable diapers? Just wondering if any one has opted for the cloth diapers and or diaper service? How did you like it? Was is cost effective (compared to disposables)? Was it inconvenient or easy? I live in southern CA if that makes a difference, I have been looking into it for economic reasons for our family. I am only 24 weeks pregnant with my first baby, I always thought I would use disposables, however, my fiance suggested maybe we try cloth. Just trying to get some opinions. Thanks... I completely understand that cloth is much much better for the enviroment, and i agree with doing every thing you can to help our environment... however, im gonna be honest... im a first time mom, im fairly young (23), pregnancy seems overwhelming as it is, i dont really think i will care much about the environment while trying to take care of a screaming baby with a wet diaper. I am really looking for what will be practical and cost effective....
softest disposable diapers? I have been using pampers since my 3 1/2 month old son was born. He recently has switched from size2 swaddlers to size 3 cruisers. They seem a little more rough than the swaddlers. Which diapers are the softest for him? The pampers seem to leave red marks under his belly button from rubbing against his skin. It doesn't seem to bother him but I was wondering if there was a diaper that is softer up at the top!
Cloth vs disposable diapers? If I were to mainly use cloth diapers, on average, how many would I need? Would I have to do a load of laundry every night? And how exactly do I go about cleaning the bowel movements off them if they are runny messes? Does anyone highly recommend cloth over disposables?
What percentages of adults wear disposable diapers and plastic pants.? There are a lot of sites on the internet that sell adult diapers and plastic pants. By the way I do have them. AND I love wearing themmmmm

is my 5 1/2 month old allergic to disposable diapers? with my son i don't always buy the same brand of diapers(depends on my coupons). last week i bought pampers cruisers, i've gotten the swaddlers before but i wanted to try these out since he is big for his age and not "cruiseing". a bumpy rash started showing up under his belly button across his belly a few days ago. today after his bath i noticed that it was more bumpy and that it had spread to his little man parts and his hiney a little. could this be a reaction to the diaper? or just a little rash and just needs some air. thanks.
disposable diapers account for 1.8-2% of all garbage in the US!?!? while 1.8-2% seem small do people really understand the magnatude of this in the grand sceme of things..its monumental! each child diapered in disposables will create 1 ton+ of diaper waste... les not get into all the water and raw materials it takes to make these things.... does this alarm anyone besides me? should there be a cloth diaper tax credit to further make this eco friendly, money saving choice easier to make for todays take and toss lifestlye? i'm a cloth diapering happy mother of 3 now a days it is much easier then 50 yrs ago.. yes the cost to start diapering can be steep plain diapers will run u $1.00-3.00 a peice and covers any where from $3-10. but they save tons of cash in the long disposables will be $2,000-3,000 there are now cloth diapers mechanicly the same as diaposables velcro and go they are more pricie... www.bumgenius.com <--- top of the line
