Diapers Q&A

Cloth Diapers Questions

cloth diapers? is anyone out there planning on or have used cloth diapers? what was you experience? did you purchase them or did you make them?
How many cloth diapers should I take on an outing? How many cloth diapers should I take with me while running errands, going to the store, and/or dining at a restaurant? I will be bringing along the diapers that will already have the insert in them ahead of time. Also, should I bring 1 regular diaper bag (for clean diapers, ointment, wipes) and 1 waterproof bag (for soiled)? Should I bring flushable/biodegradable liners, as well? Thank you! Forgot to add that I'm due with our first on April 11th. New to cloth diapering.
What are the best, easiest, most convenient cloth baby diapers? I am absolutely overwhelmed looking at the endless products available/necessary for cloth diapering! I used cloth diapers for my babies (many years ago) and there was basically 1 choice. You got a cloth diaper, plastic pants and diaper pins and you learned how to put it together. NOW - there are diaper "systems". How do you know what is needed, which is most convenient, and best for baby and new mother both? I am looking for a great product for my soon to arrive grandson. Thank you!
How do I get started using cloth diapers? I am considering cloth diapers but know nothing about using them. How many diapers will I need to start with for a newborn? What other accessory items will I need to start with? What is the initial cost? Is a diaper service necessary or is washing them yourself simple enough? Is there a brand or style of diaper you have had luck with? Any tips at all will be very much appreciated!
How do you effectively clean cloth diapers at home? I'm researching on whether cloth or disposable diapers are more cost efficient. For now I figure I will use the cloth diapers at home, and the disposable diapers when we're out, to keep from having 2 transport used diapers. My only question insofar with the cloth diaper is how to effectively clean it at home. Common sense tells me that soaking the diaper before throwing it in the wash is probably a good idea, but are there any special types of solvent I will be needing, or a special type of pail (w/ a lid) to keep odors at bay? I know u are supposed to swish the diaper in the toilet first, but are there any cleansers that are especially effective, and any that I should stay away from (harmful to baby)?
Using cloth diapers- still leaking at night. What else can I do? Which are the best to use at night? I have tried the jam tots plush diaper, but it leaked within a few hours. Last night we used fuzzi bunz. It worked much better, with a hemp insert plus an extra insert on top, but somehow it seemed to leak out the side. Is there a certain diaper that is better to use at night? Or do cloth diapers tend to leak at night? We don't have any problems during the day. My son lays on his side at night, which I think contributes to the leaking. Thanks.
How do I clean cloth diapers if a diaper service is not available? I live on St. Croix, an island in the US Virgin Islands. They dont have diaper service here but I want to use cloth diapers. What's the procedure for cleaning and sanitizing them?
How do cloth diapers work and what do i need to buy? i want to use cloth diapers on my lil one when they are born but i dont know which are best to get and what exactly to get. I understand you need to buy the prefold and the outer waterproof part..can someone describe to me how this works. Also how many for each baby stage do i need...ie: new born etc etc
If you use cloth diapers, does your baby wear a bigger size because of bulk? I guess it might depend somewhat on what type of cloth diapers you're using? Anyway, I'm about to buy some prefolds + covers, and also some pocket type diapers, and was curious about how much bulk there is going to be, like in a onesie. Will my baby need to wear a bigger size, since I'm guessing clothes aren't usually cut to allow room for cloth diapers anymore?
When switching to cloth diapers, what are some must haves to accompany them? I am getting a few g diapers, fuzzi bunz, and BumGenius 3.0s. What else is great to have when using cloth diapers?
What kind of diaper creams are safe to use with cloth diapers? I have a cream that has shea butter, almond oil, olive and jojoba oils, and beeswax as ingredients. Will this be okay to use on my cloth diapers? Does anybody have any good suggestions on what you use and like?
How many cloth diapers should I stock up on? I want to go the cloth diaper method and I want to know how many of each size I should get, such as newborn/small, medium and large. Please dont quote how many times a baby poops. I want to know from people who have cloth diapers and how many on average they use. Thank you in advance
What do you use for liners with cloth diapers? Say your baby has a mild diaper rash... you want to use diaper cream, but cannot b/c it is advised against whilst using BumGenius cloth diapers. What do you use as a liner? I've been using cut up old t-shirts and I also bought some flushable liners, but the flushable liners feel rough like fabric softener sheets. I'm worried the cream will still seep through to the diaper.
what kind of diaper rash ointment can I use with cloth diapers? So far, my youngest hasn't broken out in a rash from wearing cloth diapers overnight with plastic pants. In case she does, I want to know what kind of diaper rash ointment to use. Is there a cheap brand that clears up rashes and won't ruin the diapers? I know Desetin isn't good for cloth diapers because it makes them stinky.
Bum Genius cloth diapers- How to use the snap insert? How to wash 1st time? I just got my bumgenious cloth diapers in the mail. THey came with two inserts. One has snaps and one does not. I can't figure out how to use them. I don't see any snaps on the diapers? How do I use them? How do I wash them the first time and should I wash them more than once before use? Thanks! Is there a certain type of detergent I should use for the cloth diapers?
What is the best way to wash out cloth diapers so they smell clean and come out soft and white? I use cloth diapers on my baby and had no problem with washing the diapers and getting them clean. Now I can't seem to get them completely rinsed out without running them through the washer a couple times.
What diaper pail do you use for cloth diapers? I have been cloth diapering exclusively for 8 months. I use a blue and white Cosco diaper pail with a cloth liner inside. This worked great when his diapers were smaller, but now the pail fills up long before I'm ready to wash diapers. I know many families use a 13 gallon garbage can, but will this keep in odor? What diaper pails do you use? I'm concerned that diaper pails intended for paper diapers will have too small an opening for my diapers. Also, I do not want to have to use any type of disposable liner or bag for the diaper pail.
What does everyone think about cloth diapers? I am in my third trimester with my 3rd child and we have ALWAYS used Pampers--but we just got my youngest potty trained and I really don't want to start buyng diapers again every week. Is it hard to use cloth diapers? Is it hard to keep them clean? Good and bad experiences are appreciated! Thanks!
what is the best way to sanitize cloth diapers? I need to know how sanitize cloth diapers with out using bleach. Is Peroxide the best way, and if it is, then how much should I use?
Your favorite cloth diapers for older babies? I have a 13 month old and we've never cloth diapered before. What are your favorite cloth diapers for larger babies? He's 23 pounds and about 30 inches tall, and of course, really really active. What types would be best to use, and what types would be best to avoid? Ugg... there are so many choice. With disposables it's pretty much which brand do you want to pay for, and which one has the stretchiest sides. Ahh!
Has anyone tried a diaper service or cloth diapers at home? I am about 5 1/2 months pregnant with twins and we are considering cloth diapers or a diaper service in place of the disposable ones. Has anyone tried a diaper service or cloth diapers? What are your thoughts?
What does it mean when you buy a SECOND diaper when buying cloth diapers? Ive noticed that they are cheaper but what does it mean? Is there anything wrong with them, also any tips on getting a good price on cloth diapers. I need to buy some but don't have too much money to invest right now.
What do you do with the wipes when using cloth diapers? Yes, this is going to sound incredibly naive. I have a 4 1/2 month daughter and am finding the cost of disposable diapers pushing the high end of my budget (surprise, I know). I'm having an increasingly harder time talking myself out of cloth diapering, at least at home, but then what would I do with the (non-flushable) wipes? Would a regular, small step-open garbage can be enough to quell the odor if changed regularly? I have a Diaper Genie II at the moment but the thought of pushing dirty wipes down into that aren't really exciting.
What is the best brand of all in one cloth diapers? I tried the bumpkins for my son. I gave up & switched to disposables because he kept getting diaper rashes. We are expecting another baby in Oct. & would like to try the cloth diapers again. I need to know from experience which brand has the best absorbancy & holds up well in the washer & dryer. I'm considering Fuzzi Bunz or Bum Genius. These diapers are expensive & I want to purchase the right kind this time. I hope someone can help..
What ultimately does more harm to the environment, disposable or cloth diapers? As we all know, disposables create non-biodegradable waste. But I'm finding that cloth diapers require lots and lots of hot water for their very frequent loads of laundry. Hot water not only uses up our diminishing water supply, but also energy to heat the water. Thoughts?
whats the most efficient and cheapest way to wash AIO cloth diapers? we are planning on using cloth diapers but the AIO's we got from Bum genius have a very tedious way of washing them. is there any other way besides: soak, rinse, wash, wash, dry. that seems like a lot of extra work and it would raise our water bill quite a bit.
Do cloth diapers really keep babies dry, and do they leak? I'm expecting my first child (a boy) in October, and am thinking about using cloth diapers instead of disposables. Seems like a responsible choice both for the environment and for my bank account. But is it responsible for my son? I'm looking for specific experiences with cloth diapers, please, not links or other information about maintaining a green home. Of course, I'm referring to the new cloth diapers that come with velcro, no diaper pins, that include flushable liners, and that can be used from birth through potty training.
Line Dry Cloth Diapers in an Apartment? We are cloth diapering our newborn and I want to be able to sun-dry the diapers, to save on electricity and for the sun's antibacterial and antistaining properties. However, in our apartment's lease is actually a clause stating you cannot line dry clothes (diapers are mentioned) on our porch. Would it be as effective to air dry diapers by an open window? If I put the diapers by a west facing window in the late afternoon, would that be as effective as placing them outside, or do I need to resign myself to electric drying methods?
Where is the best place to get cloth diapers? I've been looking online but everything seems really expensive. $10-$20 just for one. I saw other questions asked about how many should you buy and they said about 25 to 30. Also, I've seen many different types of cloth diapers. Which ones have worked the best for you and why?
Patterns for making your own All in one cloth diapers? I am looking into making my own cloth diapers, the all in one kind. If you have a pattern you can email me or a link for a free pattern, I'd really appreciate it!! Also, any tips and hints about cloth diapering (what exactly I need to do from Step 1 on) would be appreciated too... Thanks! Also, forgot to ask- can anyone give me a basic list of the supplies I will need for cloth diapering a newborn? I am due July 8th. By a list, I mean- how many diapers should I get, what sizes, any additional accessories necessary, what soap I should use, etc. I am really looking for someone to say-- THIS is what you NEED to buy to do this. Here is a list, go buy it! LOL Also, I want diapers that velcro or snap closed-- no pins please!! I have heard about Kissaluvs, bum genius, gdiapers... I may go with the kissaluvs, and then make my own once I get the hang of cloth diapering... what do you think?
Cloth diapers and daycare- Did your daycare let you use them? Did they just put them in a seperate bag? I want to start doing this next week, but I need to come up with a system and talk to the head of our daycare. THe nursery workers already agreed that they don't see a problem so, I am hoping she won't either. Should they just throw all the dirty cloth diapers in a bag for me to wash or how does this usually work?
What is more harmful for the environment, disposable or cloth diapers? I know it is often stated that disposable diapers are terrible for the environment as they take ages to break down, but what about the chemicals used and energy costs of cleaning cloth diapers? Which one is more or less polluting? Disposables that end up buried in landfills or cloth ones that create more carbon pollution in the air?
As a babysitter, did you ever have to change cloth diapers? I always babysat in my younger years, junior high school, senior high, and even when I was in college. Some of the homes where I babysat used cloth diapers, while others used disposables. What type of diapers did you have to deal with when you babysat?
Cloth diapers? What are the different parts to it? I am expecting a little one soon and am trying to make up my mind about cloth diapers .vs. disposable diapers.I am not getting enough info about how the cloth diapers work. I cannot afford a diaper service and will have to do the washing myself. Are there any liners etc thatI need to buy with the cloth diapers? How does the system work?
What do you like most about Fuzzi Bunz cloth diapers? I recently bought 4 of them, but have been using Bum Genius cloth diapers. The BG diapers have been leaking every now and then. I'm thinking about selling all of my BG diapers and just investing in only Fuzzi Bunz. I hear a lot of people love them, but I just want to know why? So far, I have found that they are softer.
What types of cloth diapers do you prefer? There are so many different types of cloth diapers, and I don't mean brands. I mean prefolds, pockets, AIO's, fitteds....what type do you like best and why? I'm considering making the switch and would like to hear your experiences. Thanks so much! And yes, I have researched diaperpin, diaperswappers, and looked at numerous websites.
Cloth diapers cost effective late in the game? I know this question gets answered a lot, but please indulge me. I've been looking at using cloth diapers for a few different reasons, but I'm wondering if they are going to actually save any money in the end. My son is now 13 months old which means we won't be using them for nearly as long. We also have propane for our water heater, which is ridiculously expensive. Has anyone done the thinking or math to share if I would actually be spending the same or more because of all of the hot laundry? Also, any thoughts on family wipes?
How do cloth diapers and the covers work? The baby wears a cloth diaper, then you put the cover over it. So every time you wash the cloth diaper, are you a washing the cover as well? So is it every cover for every cloth diaper? And you have to wash the cover as much as the cloth diaper? Thanks!
Is there an alternitive to cloth or disposable huggies diapers? I dont want to really use disposables since they take forever to break down and ive been looking into cloth diapers and they are uber expensive. is there yet another alternitave to both?
how much can i make working at home making cloth diapers? I want to be a "work at home mom", and i have seen a few companies that let you purchase a license to make their brand of cloth diapers to sell. does anyone else do this? is it worth it?
Need recommendations on cloth diapers - which brand is best? I currently use pampers but I would like to switch to cloth diapers. I have no time to deal with a diaper service nor the old fashion cloth diapers that my grandmother probably used. I have seen lots of websites with cloth diapers that promise easy use and leak free, but would like to see what other parents recommend. I need a cloth diaper that is as quick as a Pampers diaper and easy to wash. Thanks!
Anyone have comments on the Kushie brand Ultra cloth diapers? My 8 month old tends to get a heat rash around the waist in the heat outside in disposable diapers. I am interested in letting him play outside in cloth diapers to reduce the rash and maybe start augmenting them into everyday wear. Just wondering if anyone has had good or bad experiences with the Kushie Ultra cloth diapers.
What are some good affordable diaper covers for cloth diapers? I'm looking for a cloth diaper cover. I good one and I prefer one with touchtape and not snaps. I'm going to use prefolds I think so I'm looking for a cover for them. Any advice and how many would I need and what prefold to go with besides Gerber.
What are the best cloth diapers on the market? There are so many brands out there and I am looking for a good one to get started on...I will also take any other suggestions that go along with cloth diapering.
Whats the best brand of cloth diapers? I've found a ton of different brands of one size cloth diapers. I was reading about Tiny Tush, and then I found a bunch more like Kissaluvs, SwaddleBees, Mommy's Touch, bumGenius, and others. I wanted to know which one was the best, or is this kind of cloth diaper even worth the money that they cost initially? Are there any other brands that may be better than my listed ones?
What do you do with cloth diapers? I've heard of the term disposable (plastic) diapers and cloth diapers. Some say cloth diapers are cheaper. So are they are not disposible? I assume they are washable, so how long should you keep one cloth diaper? Okay I get that they can be re-used but for how long. I mean for toliet trained people underwear gets dirty and old after like 1-2 years, lol. And you wash underwear so I can't imagine how a cloth diaper would look after a year. I know most people don't use cloth diapers but some say they are better for a baby's skin.
What is your favorite method for folding cloth diapers? I'm just starting to use pre-fold diapers- the "regular" rectangular ones. I've tried the "newspaper" fold and the "jellyroll" fold, but I am looking for some more ideas on what other folks might be using. I'm writing about cloth diapers for this blog http://www.babykicks.com/blog/ and I have some images on the "newspaper" fold here: http://www.babykicks.com/blog/?p=13
Does anyone know where I can buy very cheap cloth diapers? I am looking for cheap cloth diapers any ideas on where to get them?
How do you store away dirty cloth diapers?? I am currently pregnant and was seriously interested in using a cloth diaper service. I know they give you a special deoderized pail, but everytime my child has a bowel movement do I have to dump it out in the toilet, and then toss the soiled diaper in the pail?? If anyone has used this kind of service give me your advice on how you liked/disliked it, and if anyone has used this service while living in a gated apartment building, how did they come in to retrieve the soiled diapers if you were not home to buzz them in??
Does anyone make their own cloth diapers? Okay my daughter is allergic to disposable diapers. Does anyone have any advice on how to make my own cloth diapers? What fabric should I use? How do I start? I am completely clueless. I can't afford what people want for the cloth diapers so I would like to try and make my own. Please help.
What are the cheapest but good cloth diapers out there? I was looking into all in ones but I just don't have that much money to invest in them right now so I'm going to go ahead and just use prefold with a diaper cover what do you recommend and is there a good website that shows you everything you need to know about cloth diapering?
Cloth diapers? Has anyone used Baby Love one-size all-in-one cloth diapers? I wonder if one-size really works or if there are leaks. I found some really affordable Baby Love AIOs and also some really affordable diaper covers and thought that I would try a combination of the two (with prefolds and snappies). I'm 25 weeks pregnant with my first and have never cloth diapered before. I'm trying to save money and help the environment. Some of these AIOs are so expensive! What kind of cloth diapers did/do you use? Do you recommend any products over others? Did you use a diaper laundry service or wash at home? There are just so many choices out there. Any advise would be great!
cloth diapers? i have stared using cloth diapers for my son. does anyone know where you can find them cheaper?? also i have a daycare and i thought maybe asking the parents to see if they wanted me to use the cloth diapers on thier kids, so they wouldn't have to buy diapers for daycare, but they would have to pay a one time fee to help pay for washing them, or buying new ones when the time comes. would you pay for you child to wear cloth diapers??
cloth diapers? How many of you use cloth diapers? My mom used cloth diapers for all three of us. I consider myself "green" and my husband and I are thinking about having a baby. My question is if you have used cloth diapers how convinient are they? I know they deliver but what about going out to eat and having a dirty diaper?
Cloth Diapers? I've been cloth-dipering my baby (7 1/2 weeks) since coming home from the hospital.... Now he's pees alot more. I use two diapers at a time during the night, both flat folds, but he's soaking them at night when he sleeps for 4-6 hours at a stretch. I am using covers, Dappi, Chummies, and ProRap, but the Dappi's seem to leak a little or at least the fabric wicks out moisture? If anyone has ever used cloth past a month (hehe) how do I combat the night leakies, and STILL use cloth? I mean, I've got TWO diapers and a cover wrapped around him, so that his little legs look all funny and stick out kind of... I want him to have less bulk, but still absorbent? Anything better than birdseye cotton diapers? No, no disposables for my baby, don't suggest pls. Thanks. :)
Cloth Diapers? My friend was telling me about these diapers last night that are cloth, but with disposable inserts? 1. Does anyone know what these are called? 2. Has anyone use these and what do you think of them? 3. Does anyone use just cloth diapers, and if so what is the cleaning process for these? I would like to use cloth diapers to be environmentally friendly, but I am a bit afraid of the mess. Thanks in advance for your help! The following is one fact I've learned that makes me what to use cloth, scary: It takes up to 500 years for a disposable to biodegrade in a landfill. Just in time for your great, great, great, great, grandchild's birth. Sylke - I'm not sure I believe a study found that doing laundry is an enviromentally dangerous as 10 to 15 percent of all landfills being filled with diapers that take a few lifetimes to decompose.
Cloth diapers? My son is 9 months old... he is 29 pounds...big boy, not over fed he was exclusivly breastfed till 7 months and just started baby food and somtimes formula...anyways he is in the biggest size diaper size 6 in pampers crusiers... do they make bigger diapers? and are cloth diapers made to fit bigger babies,,, one more thing is there a place or companyi could get a free sample of a cloth diaper, so i am not wasting money ( they are expensive to start)
Cloth diapers? I told my mom that i am thinking of trying to use cloth diapers on my baby. (her first grandkid, over-excited) and she shipped me 5 dozen diapers. I think they are call the pre-fold. Just 1 big square. My question is, this quantities should be enough right? i can't imagine not washing them every 2 or 3 days. And if anyone has any website/instruction on how to fold these? and the quantity of diapers covers i need for each stage, and the brand they recommend? I am brand new at this baby business, not to mention cloth diaper. Any help or information will really help. thank you!
Cloth diapers? Are any of you ladies using cloth diapers? I am considering it because I try my best to help the enviroment in anyway I can. Is it a hassle using cloth diapers and did you buy them or make them? I'm considering making my own diapers because they can cost $5 each or more. Will it be worth my time trying to figure out how to make them? I have seen patterns to do this. My baby is not due for another 2 months so I have a little time to prepare. Yeah I believe you on them being gross, I have seen there are disposable liner also that you can just toss into the toilet and flush so you don't have to deal with all the mess. It seems ridiculous that people would use "wasting water" etc. as an excuse to fill dumps w trash instead. I didn't know this was an argument. If this was the case we better not flush, wash hands, brush teeth, wash dishes etc too often. I'm a working mother also or will be, currently on bedrest for remainder of pregnancy. I know it is a bit more responsibility but I want to do my part to leave a planet worth living on for my daughters and their children.
Cloth Diapers?????? I am about to have a baby in less than two weeks. I want to stick with my decision on exclusivly using cloth diapers. My sister in law baught me some Bum Genius diapers. What other brands are good and has anyone have positive feedback to give me on using cloth diapers???
cloth diapers? I am thinking about changing from disposal diapers to cloth diapers. I was wondering if you know the positive and the negative of the cloth diapers. Is it worth the extra work?
Cloth Diapers?? I have a 9 month old daughter. When we first had her I was all for disposable diapers but as I have used them I hate them. I am pregnant with my second child and I have thought maybey I would give cloth diapers a shot. I need to know what to buy. They make the cloth ones but there so thin. Everyone in my family has used disposables so no help there. Also when you change baby do you soak the diapers? Do they stain when you wash them? I would really love some input on this. Okay what do you mean soak them in a pail? Like a bucket? If thats the case when I have my second child my girl will only be 15 mths and I would be worried that she would drown. Could I put them in something with a lid?
cloth diapers? I just read another question about cloth diapers and it made me think... can I begin to use cloth diapers on my almost 2 year old? Will they absorb an older baby's urine? And can I affix them on her in such a way she can't take them off like she does regular diapers?
Cloth diapers? I was wondering what you need to get started with cloth diapers. I was looking into it to save some money since I am having twins, I dont mind extra loads of wash or having to clean poop off. I am a little confused on what I would need to buy. There are the pre folds, covers, other diaper looking things. I am really at a lost. I went to different web sites and they say to buy diapers but what part is the diaper and what do I need covers with. Thanks
Cloth Diapers? I am due to have my son in 2 months. We have decided to go with cloth diapers, after the first few weeks. Anyone that uses cloth, can you please tell me some pros and cons, and perhaps some tips on cleaning? Also, if you have any good websites on purchasing diaper covers that work well, please let me know. Thanks! I used disposables for my daughter when she was a baby, and she got terrible diaper rashes al the time. Plus, it seemed like such an awful amount of trash.
cloth diapers? I think cloth diapers are a great idea. How does the whole operation work? What do you do with the poop and pee? What do you do with the diapers? Do you just wash a load of those separately in the washer? How does the pee not soak through if it's just cloth? Please let me know as I am thinking of switching for the money and the environment, but don't really know what to do.
Cloth diapers? I have read surveys that say up to 20% of adults have atleast some degree of incontinence. For the more severe cases, how many people use cloth diapers instead of disposables? And, did you even know that they made cloth diapers for adults?
Cloth diapers? I have read surveys that say up to 20% of adults have atleast some degree of incontinence. For the more severe cases, how many people use cloth diapers instead of disposables? And, did you even know that they made cloth diapers for adults?
cloth diapers? i want to start using cloth diapers...i am thinking of using pre-folds or contour cloth diapers with a wrap style velcro or snap cover to hold it in place because I don't want to use pins. Any one have experience with this...what is your favorite brand or style. where do you buy your diapers
cloth diapers? I'm thinking about using cloth diapers. I don't really know any thing about them. I heard chinese prefold is the best is that true? How many cloth diapers should I buy? Any info you have would be a help. thanks for all the info. i would plan on washing them 2 to 3 times a week. The main reason I want to use cloth diapers is cuz they're cheaper. The money I save on diapers can go into a savings for my kids college fund. Yes I'm also using cloth diapers cuz it's better for the earth.
cloth diapers? i would love to cut down on the $ and waste i put into the trash; but i'm worried the cloth diapers will cause skin irritations. i've done some research on different kinds but i still dont know the best way to go. i dont want laundry services coming to my house--i dont think that'll save me $. i heard theres a website to buy used cloth diapers but thats kinda gross dont you think? any suggestions
Cloth diapers? I was thinking of using cloth diapers when I have a baby. I know a little about them. Do you just need the cloth diapers? Do you need liners or anything else? For the most part I'm clueless. Any info would be a big help. how much of a supply of them should i have?
Cloth Diapers...? This is to anyone who has diapered their little ones with cloth. I know what brand I want to use, Bum Genius 3.0 The problem I am having is finding a website that is user friendly for a registry. Has anyone used a website register for their cloth diapers? Thanks To Easy...give me a break...You must have done something wrong to have cloth cost you more. It's better on the wallet, it's better for the baby, not to mention how much better it is for the environment
cloth diapers? i am pregnant and planning on sticking with cloth diapers, environmentally conscience and all that, anyway... i was wondering if theres anyone here who uses cloth diapers and what do you think of them. are they really that much of a hassle?
Cloth Diapers? I am going to be a stay-at-home mother and we have been thinking about doing cloth diapers (when we go somewhere we will use throw-away diapers) Has anyone used them? Are they very difficult? I don't know anyone my age (28) that has used them. Anybody have any thoughts on this? Thanks for your imput!
cloth diapers? i want to start letting my 7 month old son wear cloth diapers while we're at home and at grandmas. whats the best kind to get? i don't want to have to use safety pins, are there any with velcro or something like that? how long can a baby wear one? same as disposable diapers? let me know everything! thanks!
Cloth Diapers....? Anybody know what store I can get the "plastic pants" that go over the cloth diapers? I couldn't find them at Target or Walmart or Baby's R Us...at least not online. I didn't see any at Target when we went to get the crib either.. I did find some at Walmart but not just the cover, they were made with the cloth inside them already. I just want the covers. I would prefer a store I can actually go into. Thank you!! yeah I saw the "poo poo" one but it looks like terry cloth?? Kinda seems like it wouldn't be effective... =/ Yeah I guess I meant to say rubber pants not plastic pants!! lol
cloth diapers? I want to use cloth diapers for my next baby. someone know of the best brand, what brand did you like best? I want the new age ones. not the ones with the cloth and rubber pants but the ones that are all-in-one. any suggestions?? thank you!!
Cloth Diapers? I am planning on using cloth diapers for my first. However there are so many kinds out there I don't know how to pick what is best for my little one. Also I can't seem to find them anywhere but online? Does anyone know of a store that carries them? Also have any of you used cloth whipes? That just seems rather extreme to me so I don't think I will be using them. But I have not completly ruled them out.
Cloth diapers? Cloth diapers are much better for the inviroment, but kinda hard to find. Any ideas? what type are best?
cloth diapers? I need all the info I can get on cloth diapers. I want to use them for my future children but I don't really know anything about them. How many should I buy? Which kind of fold is best? thank you for you answers
Cloth Diapers? I am going to use cloth diapers when my baby is born. What are your favorite brands and styles? Why? Thanks! The fabrics of today's cloth diapers are better than when my mother used cloth diapers on me. And there are even cloth diapers that do not have to use the plastic lining over them. If you do not know anything about cloth diapers do not answer. http://www.dy-dee.com/Benefits_of_Cloth/Skin_Care/skin_care.html People you don't let your kid wallow in its filth. When it wets its diaper you change it. The harsh chemicals in disposables cause rashes. When my mother switched me to cloth I never had a rash again.
cloth diapers?? Does anyone know what the best detergent is to wash cloth diapers in? Also does anyone have any they would like to sell? the fitted or AIO type only.. I know you are not supposed to use Dreft and also no bleach it effects the absorbancy.. I am not against disposables, I just am trying something new..I found fitted cloth and they look just the same as the others, I also had lots of diaper rash with the first and i want to trade between the cloth while we are at home and disposables when we go out..
cloth diapers? im looking at getting cloth diapers. im wondering what kind is the best? ive also found a couple diffrent kinds that im looking at Fuzzi Bunz and bumGenius. any input or help would be great
Cloth diapers? I am considering trying cloth diapers. Can anyone recommend a good brand? How are all-in-ones as far as leaks and price? Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
Cloth diapers? I would just like to know the ins and outs of cloth diapers. How they work; what detergent to use; what kind of fold is best; best brand; best material; most economical use; where to get them; what do we need to use them;how to wash them; pretty much everything you could think of; we would like to know. thank you.
Cloth diapers? I'm a soon to be new mother and I'm considering using cloth diapers. I was looking for mom's who have experience using them... any words of wisdom? Prefered brands, ect? I'm just generally clueless beyond internet reading... so any real life experience you have to share would be most welcome. Thanks in advance! I'm not planning on using day care. So we should be ok there...
Cloth Diapers? I am looking into starting my son on cloth diapers... What kind do you recommend? I need some links and feedback on them please. I know nothing about them. I'm willing to do the time, I am a stay at home mom with 1. And I rather spend the time washing than filling landmines. :)
Cloth Diapers? I have done a little reading on cloth diapers, and so far I have heard many great things about them, so im thinking about using them for my baby, Im only 9 weeks perg. so i have a while to think about it, but I was wondering a few things. Is there anyone who tried them and just didnt like them (for a reason other then having to wash them)? How much harder are they to wash then a normal load of laundry? How much cheaper are they then dispoable ones? Do you ever have trouble folding them right or keeping them on your baby? Thanks a lot, I of course will do more research on the subject!
cloth diapers? if you used cloth diapers what was your experiance with the all in ones with the liner built into the outside? did they work well? what was your fav brand? have you ever used yuyun brand?
Cloth diapers? What are the pros and cons of cloth diapers?
Cloth Diapers? Would anyone suggest using cloth diapers? If so where do you get them and how do you go about cleaning them?
Cloth diapers??? I live in West LA Cali. and can not seem too find cloth diapers anywhere Carter's..NO K-mart ..no got any ideas ? Cloth Diapers? Im thinking about using cloth diapers this time around to save money. What is the best brand ? And could someone please explain them to me websites are leaving me very confused!!
Cloth diapers? I don't know the first thing about using cloth diapers. However, I'm expecting my first baby, a boy, in late November, and would like to use them (I think!). What are the pro's, the con's, how do you clean them, how do you attach them to the baby, etc? Any links, resources, suggestions? Thank you! I know disposables are easier. But my husband and I are on a tight income, I'd like to try to save money. We'll use disposables occasionally, like when we're out, but for at-home I'd like to use cloth. Please, I'd like tips from mothers who use cloth diapers, not people who use disposable diapers. Thankyou! I'm also looking at the environmental aspect (no millions of non-degradable diapers in the landfills) and the hygenic aspect (less chance of diaper rash or irritation)
Cloth diapers? I am considering using cloth diapers when my son is born. Can anyone tell me their positive and negative experiences with them? Besides being economical, I like the fact that they are natural. But since I haven't had any experience with them thus far, I'm just wondering if I am making a proper and convenient choice. Thanks for your help!
Cloth diapers? How many of you use cloth diapers. And what brand or type is your favorite?
Cloth Diapers? Anyone ever use them? What's the best Brand? What's the worst? And, what do you do if you have to run somewhere, your baby is wearing a cloth diaper, and then you change it in public (with a disposable one)....where does the dirty cloth diaper go? to Sevenuv: Whoa! You poor thing! But surprises are neat! ;) Thanks for the info....breadbags...good idea. I'd wrap with like 10 bags though, lol. :)
Cloth Diapers? New to cloth diapering just curious how to wash them for the first time.
Cloth Diapers? I was watching a video on Youtube on how to use a cloth diaper... Do they not seem too bulky to you? I like the idea of helping our envirnment; however, they just seem soooo uncomfortable and bulky for the baby. Opinions? I don't think I would use them...seems too time consuming. PLUS, I love the feeling of regular diapers!

Sorry about the grammar english is my 2nd language. I want something that don't wet her clothes, they don't hurt her legs and they don't cause rashes, they need to be very comfortable and and easy to wash. I mean that I don't want them to get stains and if is possible. Thank u!!
cloth diapers? Im thinking about using them but I know absolutely nothing about them. How many should I buy? How often do they need to be changed? (I use diposable, and I change my son about every hour) What all do I need to buy? (diapers, covers...anything else?) Machine wash or hand wash? I basically need someone to tell me exactly..Im clueless!
Cloth Diapers? Ok I have a couple more questions. How many would I need to get started if I chose to get the All In One Diaper if I wash them every night. Also they are a bit pricey so how long before they pay for themselves.
cloth diapers? ok so the AIO you use a new one every time is that right? and the covers and prefolds you change the prefold everytime right? and the pocket ones? im totally confused there ... ok stop telling me not to use them! i just want information on them im not asking if i should use them or not!!
cloth diapers? What is the best absorbant farbric and a really good wicking one to keep baby dry?
Cloth diapers???? Have you ever used them, if yes do you like them, are they cheaper, did you have alot of leaks with them, would you recommend them?
Cloth diapers? Are they worth it? How much money do they save you? How do you wash them? along with the other clothes?
Affordable, quality cloth diapers? - Cloth diapering moms only please!? My baby is due in a couple months and I just discovered how cool "new" cloth diapers are! They come in the cutest fabric, I even saw some made of velour! They close with velcro and snaps, some don't even need covers! Who ever thought I could get so excited over cloth diapers? Even my boyfriend is impressed. The ones online are so much cooler than the ones in the store. I've heard the only thing the store bought ones are good for is dusting. But unfortunately they're REALLY expensive! At least for this low income mama. I know I would save money in the long run by using cloth diapers instead of disposables, but just don't have the kind of money it takes to buy a couple dozen good cloth diapers. What's a mama to do? How can I afford to diaper my baby in the awesome cloth diapers? Do any sites that sell them have discounts for poor mamas? I've seen some cheap ones, but I'm nervous buying real cheap ones. I'm afraid they might be cheap quality like the store ones. Suggestions? I don't sew, I wish I could learn- but I don't even know anybody with a sewing machine. I saw those fuzzy bunz, Bugsy- But seriously, have you done the math? It's about $400.00 to get two dozen of those suckers. That's not even including shipping! That's more than my car cost! Shoot maybe I should sell it for diapers!?
Cloth Diapers and Twins? My best friend is pregnant with twins. She recently started looking at cloth diapers to save her money compared to disposables. Please let me know if cloth diapers with twins is the most economical over disposables - by economical I mean in both time and money (diapers, water, soap, electricity, covers, etc.) We do not have any services in town or even nearby to consider. Also, what would she need to start out? How much would it cost up front? How long does an average diaper last before it needs replaced? Do cloth diapers fit all sizes? With twins they'll probaby be smaller than average. And any other info you think might help. Mind you I don't care if she wants to use disposables or cloth - I just want more information from people that actually use them. Thanks in advance. We live in Illinois (no, not Chicago) - so she could line dry in the summer.
Which cloth diapers are best and where to buy them? My daughter is very small still, even though she's 2 months old and most cloth diapers I've seen are big. She has such sensitive skin, I'd really like to start using cloth diapers. I've been using Huggies Supreme Newborn Care diapers and they are nice, they don't have that plastic feel that most other diapers do. I'm moving in a week and I'm going to have a brand new washer and dryer (I live in an apartment currently and don't have my own), so that gives me even more of a reason to start cloth diapers. I've been considering gDiapers, they are kind of like disposible cloth diapers. Can you guys recommend any better ones?
cloth diapers or disposable diapers, and why? i was talking to my husband about using cloth cause alot of babies get rashes, alergies to diapers. and also they are so expensive. so if i were to choose cloth how do you wash them, what do you do when they are poopy...lol...when i was little they had diaper service. so wich would you choose is the best way to go? i just feel that at 10 dollars for 12 cloth diapers is not bad and if you buy say 100 dollars worth you are still saving money right?
Gerber Flat Fold Birdseye Cloth Diapers or Heavyweight Gauze Cloth Diapers? If you are familiar with cloth diaper, can you please tell me which one is better, softer, thinner, easily dry after washed? I found these two kind being sold at Walmart. I'm thinking of getting either the Gerber Flat Fold Birdseye Cloth Diapers or Heavyweight Gauze Cloth Diapers. The Gauze one is more expensive than the birdeye diapers. Does that mean the gauze has better quality? What other department stores sell them or online stores? Is there other kind of cloth diapers which you highly recommend? Thanks in advance for your advices.
Cloth diapers? Pros vs. Cons? My mother-in-law gave me a box of cloth diapering, but I don't feel very keen to the idea of using cloth diapers. What are the pros/cons of using cloth diapers? Would you recommend using them or not?
cloth or disposable diapers? moms, i would like to start a debate right here (tada) in this question about diapers. just a few facts, did you know that disposiable diapers are not ment to hold the poop in the trash, you are suppose to shake it off in the toilet jsut like a cloth diaper; reason; because the poop ends up in our land fills and poultes the ground with human pathogens and increasing the risk of the spread of disease. also, it take 500 years for a disposible diaper to biodegrate and 18-23 billion are thrown away each year. in time for the first years of diapers to biodegrate, 8,500,000,000,000-11,000,000,000,000 will be degrating still. we all know that diapers wernt around for 500 years and that they wont be for much longer, but could you imagine??? please just post opnions, not hate. as for me, i use old fashioned cloth diapers and covers. they work just fine for us. i use chemical free detergent adn viniger to wash, it only takes 20 minutes to dry them and about 60 to wash them. i only wash one... load every other day and it take no effort to fold, its harder to hang shirts, IMO..... hahahah, dont you like how there are sooo many 0's in the second number that the computer just put ...... after it!!!! there were 12 of them.... haha, to CK. your right, we need golf.......ya know, more than our planet. giggle~~~ winnie, you have never tried them, i assume, because i thought the same thing but they are so easy to use, if not easier, you dont put poo in your washing machine and that is why i expalined that you dont use a lot of extra enengy because you only really have to do it every other day and a lot of peeps hang dry. can you believe that the first disposiable was made in 1942, and was make to only hold one wetting??? aww, i would never bleach a diaper, thats why you had rashes, thats crazy!! ahhhhhh! sun dry to get stains out silly!
Cloth Diapers, that come with disposable inserts, at a reasonable price? I'm instered in attemping at saving some money and being a bit friendlier to the enviroment with diapering my child. I've been looking into the cloth diapers like the Kushies "all in one diapers" but insted of needing to constanly wash this all the time I wondered if anyone knew of an insert that's a disposible type pad and that actually worked pretty well, and didn't cost too much. (I'm pretty sure they excist somewhere!) I like the idea of cloth, I just not exactly into the idea of washing poopy diapers. (a little no problemo, just not a lotta's!)
Can cloth diapers help with potty training? My daughter is 3 yrs. old and has been very resistant to potty training. I am already thinking of switching to cloth for my 8 month old son. I am wondering if putting her in cloth diapers might help with getting her to come around to using the potty. I have already tried just putting her in panties and clothes. She treats Pull-ups like diapers, and I can't afford them anyway. I can't handle cleaning up 5-8 accidents a day in her clothes and on my carpet anymore. Did that for about 6 months. I understand that she may just not be ready, and I don't want there to be a big power struggle over it. I also know that this is a tough time for her with her baby brother, and that most regressions occur when the baby is about this age. All I want to do at this point is to kindly put her in a position where she might find using the potty a favorable alternative to going in her pants. Would cloth diapers help in this situation?
Info on cloth diapers?? I've decided on using cloth once my husband and I have a baby. I'm trying to price it and figure it out... we're TTC now and I just wanted to have a more educated budget and idea of what's up. So I have a few Q's... please answer if you can and feel free to give any more info you think would be helpful... 1-What is the best brand?.. and why? (Fuzzi Bunz are the ones I've been considering.. anyone know how they are??) 2-How many diapers is reasonable to get in each size? 3-Do cloth diapers help or hurt diaper rash? 4-How often does a baby need to be changed while wearing a cloth diaper? 5-Should a special detergent be used as to be more sensative to the skin of the baby? ... if so.. do you have any recommendations? Again, please feel free to add on info that you think would be helpful. Thanks so much!
