Diapers Q&A

Gerber Cloth Diapers Questions

Gerber Flat Fold Birdseye Cloth Diapers or Heavyweight Gauze Cloth Diapers? If you are familiar with cloth diaper, can you please tell me which one is better, softer, thinner, easily dry after washed? I found these two kind being sold at Walmart. I'm thinking of getting either the Gerber Flat Fold Birdseye Cloth Diapers or Heavyweight Gauze Cloth Diapers. The Gauze one is more expensive than the birdeye diapers. Does that mean the gauze has better quality? What other department stores sell them or online stores? Is there other kind of cloth diapers which you highly recommend? Thanks in advance for your advices.

how do i use cloth diapers? i got some gerber cloth diapers.. the instructions don't help at all.. their not the really long ones.. every time i put it on her it falls off
Can you use any cloth diaper with any wrap? For example can I use gerber cloth diapers with kushies wraps?
What are some good affordable diaper covers for cloth diapers? I'm looking for a cloth diaper cover. I good one and I prefer one with touchtape and not snaps. I'm going to use prefolds I think so I'm looking for a cover for them. Any advice and how many would I need and what prefold to go with besides Gerber.
My 7 month old daughter is attached to her burp cloth? My 7 month old daughter loves her burp cloths. We use the cloth diaper gerber ones. I have been trying to find a smaller burp cloth sized diaper to see if she might cuddle up to that instead of a burp cloth. Does anyone have one or know where I can find a cute smaller blanket. When she gets sleepy she cuddles with it and then I take it away from her as soon as she is asleep. I'm sorry I can't type today. It should say I am looking for a burp cloth sized blanket =)
What is the difference between unbleached cloth diapers and regular diapers? I am trying to figure out what would be best to put on my little Leilani. So I have these regular ones from Target they are the Gerber prefolds and they totally suck! I was looking online and saw unbleached, white premium, and unbleached premium... so can anyone tell me what the difference is? Thanks!
i want to try to use cloth diapers, i jsut have a few questions? i was looking into the all in one with pockets that you jsut wash and put on the baby again. but i was also looking into gerber plastic covers and prefolds. i dont think i would like them as much but i was looking for somthing a little less expencive, the good brand of cloth diapers (the all in one easy to use things) are soooo expencive, even off of ebay. i dont think it would help in the long run. we only pay $20 for a pack of disposible paper diapers (luvs) adn we get 120 in the box. one cloth diaper can cost as much as 1 box of diapers. has anyone used the gerber covers adn the prefolds? waht do you suggest i do?i have always wanted to give cloth diaper a try, im all about saving money. what do you think? im about saving money adn i hear that cloth diapers are suppose to be less expencive but i dont see that? why? well, crazy, i use them for that too. thats when i got to thinking about jsut trying cloth diapers, but is does seem like a lot of work
Cloth diaper question? I use Gerber prefold cloth diapers (and plastic pants) on my son. The problem is that he is a big, big baby. I just don't see how I am going to be able to use these cloth diapers until he is ready to potty train. Does anyone know if you can get larger sized prefold cloth diapers? I can only find one size fits all type. Thanks!
Why are my cloth diapers useless? They do not hold ANY piss whatsoever. I may as well wrap the kid in toilet paper. I thought it was because I was wrapping her wrong but I even tested pouring some water on the "absorbent" side and could feel it instantly leak through the other side. WTF? These are the Gerber ones...not some cheap off brand. What is this plastic liner everyone is talking about? What is it called and where do I get it?
Cloth diapers :(? I am getting VERY discouraged with my switch to cloth diapers, my son literally pees every 30 minutes! lol, i didn't realize this until i made the switch, but i have like 20 cloth diapers and use all of them in less than 10 hours. I use gerber prefolds and have made some of my own, i just need some encouragement...has anyone felt this way? how did you get through it?
Anyone have experience with Miracle Diapers standard shipping time? I sent my signed agreement back two weeks ago and haven't heard a thing! I'm not worrying about my $14, but that my son is gonna stay in Gerber pre-folds the rest of his diapering career! We are trying to work up our supply of cloth diapers, but it's not easy and am really looking forward to my Miracle Diapers to come in! How long did others wait?? And what company shipped them?
Fitted cloth diapers at night- using g diaper cover as a diaper cover? Good diaper covers? So, I just won a big lot of WAHM cloth fitted diapers which I want to start using at night on my son. They are a bit bulky so, I am wondering what a good cover would be for them? I have also used g diapers so, I am trying the g diaper cover tonight, but it seems a bit awkward. But is it always a bit awkward and bulky when working with fitteds since you have a cover? What are some good cheap covers besides the cheap plastic pull-overs by gerber and such that you can buy at walmart. My son can't wear those.
What brand of cloth diapers? do you prefer? Are the fancy, expensive ones any better than the gerber rectangle ones you use with pins and rubber pants?
Cloth diapering questions? My daughter was born on August 5, so she's pretty new. 80) My husband and I are trying to cloth diaper, but we're having a few snags. 1. We are using prefolds (you know with the thick part in the middle) and have found that it is really bulky between her legs. Is there any way around that? We've been using the angel something or other fold. 2. We've noticed that the diapers are getting drenched all the way through. At first I thought she was peeing that much, but I don't think that's the case anymore. I'm starting to wonder if it's sweat. And if she is sweating that much, that can't be a good thing. Has anyone experienced this, and what did you do about it? Oh yeah, we use those plasticky Gerber diaper covers if it makes a difference.
Gerber velcro diaper covers? For years we have used Gerber velcro diaper covers (I'm not talking about the pull on vinyl pants, although we use those too.) over prefold cloth diapers. Apparently, they have been discontinued now. Does anyone know of anyplace online that they are still being sold, or have any they might want to sell? I'd be looking for size medium and/or large. Thanks, Stephanie
Making cloth diapers? I've been making them for my 9 month old. The instructions I have say to use fleece on the inner layer, flannel on the outside, and a soaker in the middle. The fleece almost always feels dry, but the flannel is always soaked! I've about given up due to the number of outfits my daughter goes through in a day. I've been using the Gerber covers from Walmart, but they tear so easily in the wash, and I just don't like them. What fabrics do you use, and what do you use as a cover?
Does anyone know who makes slim size toddler jeans & plastic pants to be worn over cloth daipers, toddler sz? I can't find anything similar to the old Sears Toughskin jeans which my sons wore as boys; nearly indestructible (reinforced knees). Our very slender boy needs the length, but the waists are HUGE. Cute little suspenders are not to be found either! Gerber used to make plastic pants to be worn over cloth diapers. They had three snaps on the front of each side. Is there any such thing available today...not all children wear disposable diapers. Help, please! Thank you so much! " dottievan"
Cloth diaper question....please help? I use prefold cloth diapers for my 4 month old son...and plastic pants. Right now I am using the Gerber brand that you can buy at Babies R Us. I am currently using 6-9 month old plastic pants. I need to buy some larger sized diapers online because my son will soon outgrow the ones I have now. My son is a large baby (18 lbs.). If I buy toddler sized cloth diapers can I get away with using them in a month or so if I fold over the fronts? I also want to buy some softer covers, rather than the plastic pants. Can I also get a larger size without having problems with leaks? My son has very good sized legs and thighs so the plastic pants seem to dig into his skin leaving red marks. Will the softer covers do the same thing? Help please...I want to purchase these things in the next couple of days and need advice. Thanks!
Cloth diaper help? Hey! I'm a soon to be new mommy and wondering if anyone could help me prepare! I want to use cloth diapers to be green, and I think I'm going to go with flats and/or prefolds mostly for the price factor. I've done some research but I still have a bunch of questions! Would love your advice :) How many cloth diapers should I have on hand? How many diaper covers will I need? Is wool really as awesome as they say it is for a diaper cover? Where do I buy pins? Are regular safety pins okay to use? Smell-wise, how long is it possible to go between washings? Can I put regular clothes in with the diapers or do I have to wash them by themselves? I hear that when using gerber flats you have to double or triple them depending on how old your baby is and how much they go at once, does this mean a newborn needs less absorbency or more? And is there a stage when diaper covers are not needed?
Potty training.. Cloth training pants affordable absorbent????? Ok I have a 2 year old who has the concept of using the potty. But disposable pullups aren't getting it done. If she wears cloth underwear she uses the potty 80% of the time. If she wears a pull up it's more like 10%. I've tried your basic gerber pants. They aren't absorbant at all and she absolutely hates the plastic covers. Forget that. I've seen some all in one trainers but they are almost $30 + . I need something much cheaper. I can't go buy a $30 diaper and her refuse to wear it, if it works at all. I'm fine with the disposables at night. And leaks aren't to bad when we are home. But we go to parent's and friends house a lot, can't have her peeing on other people's carpet. lol So here's what I'm looking for if any mom could help me out. Absorbent, not too bulky, not too plastic, comfortable, and affordable cloth training pants. AIO conveinence would be nice also. Sounds like I'm asking a lot huh'. Well any help in my search would be appreciated.
cloth diapers? i got cloth diapers for my daughter, who is 1. she seems to keep diaper rash alot so i thought i would try the cloth ones to see if that helps at all, thinking maybe she is allergic to the disposables. i bought the gerber ones from wall mart, and the pins and the plastic covers, now i have no idea what to do with them!! How do they work? i can get them snug around her waist, but they are all loose around her legs. also, what do you do about poopy? i know that the more solid stuff i can just flush, but the mooshy stuff, how do i get rid of that?

cloth diaper question...? Hi, as some of you know i just switched to cloth diapers-we are using pinned gerber prefolds-but my son pees out of a diaper in a matter of a couple hours--this is getting really old and i am considering going back to the nasty disposables because he can wear one of those for 2-3 hours with no problem...what should i do i really like that the cloth dont have the chemicals but i am tired of going through 3-4 outfits a day!?? I generally use a fleece cover but on occasion i will put the rubber/vinyl pants on him if the fleece gets damp--i need to make him a few more covers! thank you all for the hints--the extra diaper or padding in the front has helped!
If use cloth diapers on 19 months old, what to do when out and about? I'm thinking of starting put fitted diapers on my dd during daytime so, she can feel them and if poop accidents, easier to get them off with snaps. At same time potty training her until she's more interested in wearing Gerber undies. What do you do when you are out and about with cloth diapers or Gerber Undies? Do I need to bring extra undies/cloth diapers and clothes? What if she has accidents while sitting in car seat? Do I need to get something for her car seat to protect the seat from her pees/bms? What about if I get diaper covers just to use for outings?
