Diapers Q&A

Daily Diapers Questions

Daily Diapers? I know every baby is different, but I just need a general census. I'm planning on buying diapers online and need to know (about) how much I'm going to need. The newborn sizes come in a box of 252. (About) how long will that last a [breastfed] newborn? (About) how many diapers does a baby go through a day? ...a week?
Typical amount of diapers a baby goes through daily? I know all babies are different, but just to get a good idea, how many diapers will one baby go through in a day, normally?
How many diapers does a newborn use in a week or daily? Hi,been a while my only son is 12,so I dont remeber.
What is the average daily diaper usage for a new born Baby? I am trying to calculate daily, monthly usage so i can figure out the costs.
How many dirty diapers do you change on a daily basis.....? We only have one child and he's 5 months and from about 9-10am to 8-9 pm he poops 6-8 times sometimes more and he's formula fed.....does that sound like a lot?? I'm not worried the ped said it's fine..I was just curious about other babies :) Princess: He is 20 lbs
does anybody know of any diaper fetish sites, and does anybody else wer diapers? i've been on 1 called daily diapers but thats it and please dont just meassage on here to give abuse
How do you like ur bum genius diapers? How many did you buy? did you need to buy inserts? How do you like them compared to other types of cloth diapers? When I bought prefolds for my first baby I bought 4 doz to get me through 3- 4 days. I'm assuming I will need about that many so I'm not washing daily. How many did you buy? Just wondering because they're a little pricey. Also, do they really fit good from newborn to toddler? Thanks!
Do daily trips to the hospital to help care for a chronically ill infant count as medical miles? I have a 5 month old infant that was hospitalized for a month. Obvoisly transporting the infant to the hospital counts as medical miles, but does the dailly travel to visit and care for the infant also count as medical miles. Care includes feeding, diapers, medical procedures that would routinely happen in the home, learn how to do new medical procedures for when the infant returns home and to learn how to use new medical equipment that will be used in the home.
have you tried cloth diapers? I'm about to be a first-time mommy to a little boy, and I was wanting to hear from moms (or dads!) who had tried cloth diapers. I will be staying at home with him at least his first 6 months, so I will have the time to launder the diapers daily...that won't be a problem. I'm actually looking into AIOs like Fuzzi Bunz and Happy Heiny's. I realize that cloth diapers don't work out for everyone who tries them, but economically and ecologically they appeal to me and I want to give them a go! What was your experience with cloth diapering? If you never used cloth, only disposable, please don't answer. I know about disposables already, having used them on my neice and nephew in the several years.
Chart for daily activities at babysitter? My cousin is babysitting my 6 month old daughter and i would like to know everything that goes on while she is babysitting. Is there a chart or anything that i can find on the internet to give to her daily to fill out when she eats sleeps and gets her diaper changed?
is it normal to get frustrated and tired of the daily grind with a newborn? I feel guilty just for asking the question, but I would love to know if this is a normal emotion to be feeling 10 days after giving birth or if what i feel is abnormal? I LOVE most moments with my daughter, but as a single mom right off the bat, dealing with every feeding, every diaper change, every fuss, every cry all alone it gets really frustrating. For example my baby just ate, I Know shes not hungry and shes not gassy and her diaper is clean but shes still kind of fussy. Not crying,, but grunting, just generally fussy and Im so frustrated and tired. Normal? How did you cope with frustration in early motherhood? im so glad you mentioned "the crying thing"!!! just the other day, when my daughter was sleeping in her bouncy chair I laid on the floor next to her and just WEPT! i felt so sorry for myself for no reason!! and looking at her sweet little sleeping face I just couldnt hold back the tears. Yeah...thanks for mentioning that. I sort of thought I was crazy
Should I use the diaper rash cream Desitin only when my baby has a rash or can I use it daily?? I'm afraid that she may develop a "resistance" to it if she develops a rash and I would have to use stronger products on her. Is there any other generic creams that are not so medicated that are effective?
How many bowel movements is normal for a 9 month old? My son has 2 to 3 poopy diapers daily (plus the 'wet' only ones) Is this normal? He is eating jarred baby food, cereal, some table/finger foods and formula daily
What products can I buy in Beijing, China? Diapers? Soap for sensative skin?, etc.? I am going to Beijing for 6 months with my one year old. Can I buy diapers there? He uses Huggies Overnights at nighttime so he doesn't wake up every time he pees. Do they have them or similar ones. Also, I am allergic to harsh soaps. Do they have sensitive skin soaps like baby soaps or feminine wash? Any other daily toiletries that they don't have that we may not think of would be helpful too!
What is a typical daily routine for a six month old? I have six month old twins our days go like this: 0600 wake up/diaper change and nurse 0630-0700 play under baby gym 0700-0900 nap 0900 nurse and diaper change 0930 play with mom 1100 eat rice cereal 1300 nurse and diaper change 1330 nap 1600 nurse/diaperchange 1630 play with babygym 2000 bath 2015 nurse 2100 bedtime or somthing like that just wonering what other people do?
Should I have to pay the termination fee for daycare? My child recently was taken out of the daycare we placed him in because he was overflowing his diapers daily, red in the face with tears at least three times a week when I picked him up and there was only one worker for six infants the last day I went to pick him up, that was the last straw. Now the center is charging me a $500 termination fee for not giving two weeks notice. Any ideas on how to avoid having to pay this fee?
Environment-friendly diapers? What are my alternatives??? I'm about to have a baby in a few months and I'm very concerned about the diaper situation. I find disposable diaper usage almost ludicrous, and I cringe at the idea of how many diapers contribute to polluting our environment on a DAILY basis. However, I know people who tried the reusable cloth diaper approach, and they told me it was just too hard and time-consuming to keep up (not to mention messy), so they ended up buying regular diapers instead. What can I do to avoid falling into this trap? Any biodegradable diapers out there that won't put a huge dent on my budget? What other environment-friendly, cost-effective, REALISTIC alternatives do I have???
Is it possible that a teen can go through the "baby routine" on a daily basis? I mean, can a teen wake up, have a diaper change(somebody does it for them of course), loose all bathroom privileges, put in a highchair or to the breast for all of their meals, be bathed like a baby...
18 month old son pulls off his diapers, what can I do? My son is quite aware of when he wets or poops so he pulls of his diapers, most of the time it's no big deal, twice I came to get him up with him having pulled his poopie diaper off and it was a mess! We try onesies, with overalls, etc but he can still seem to get into them. Should I try pull ups? Or what should I do? He is too young to quite understand how to "go on the toilet" although I sit him there daily to get the "feel" for potty training. Let me add that my daughter trained completely at 12 months, and overnight at 18 months. My son, is probably CLOSE to ready but doesn't quite grasp the concept of why someone actually sits on the toilet. I wanted to start him at 2 years.
Does anyone know of a website that tracks breastfeeding times and/or diaper changes? My wife just gave birth to a healthy baby girl. We are trying to breastfeed. Our hospital said to be sure to track breastfeeding times/patterns and to keep track of which breast we stopped on. We are also looking for a chart to track how many of each type of diaper she should have daily. And a chart to track them. Any help is appreciated.
moms...how many diapers does a newborn use? from your experience, about how many diapers does a newborn use daily?
What is the cost to maintain a baby? For school, I'm supposed the take care of a "baby" and I'm also supposed to find out how much it would cost to take care of a baby. Such costs would include how much it would cost to feed a baby daily, and how often the baby's diaper needs to be changed daily (thus including the cost of diapers.) Thank you for answering!
How can I get the pee smell out of clothing? My son has been wetting the bed and peeing in his pants on almost a daily basis. He is way too old for diapers of any kind. That is not even an option. I heard that pee contains scent crystals that reactivate when wet which is why it is damn near impossible to get out of laundry. Now nearly everything reeks of pee! I have tried baking soda, extra laundry detergent even pet oder stuff. Nothing has worked! His mattress is even worse. He has a plastic sheet on it now but he always takes it off.
What's the best solution to get rid of my 2 year old's diaper rash? My child had a bug at one time and was having bad diapers, which caused a bad diaper rash. The doctor said it looked like there was a little bit of yeast in it. She prefered me to use Lubriderm daily. Well, it slowly went away but not quite all of it. Well, again he had some bad diapers and it's back. I feel like I've done everything by rubbing lotions, Desitin and baby powder on it. Does anyone know a better method or ointment to use?
What is the going rate for private babysitting and for Daycare in the Tampa Bay area now? I need rates (on average) for : one `17 month old in diapers one 3 1/2 year old in diapers I need the hourly and/or daily rate for daycare private babysitting for one and for two children not toilet trained Same thing for a private babysitter. How do you get a newspaper/magazine to pick up your story and publish it? I am a humanitarian working in Romania and I am needing more than anything right now for people to hear of the horrors I face working in the local children's hospital such as puncturing the children's eardrums daily without anstheia or pain meds while they are tied to chairs. Of diapers rashes so bad they bleed. What do I need to do to help get my story out there.. how do I get them to pick up my story and publish it?
How do I get my dogs to stop pooping and peeing on the carpets? we have 2 yourki poos. they have a doggie door, and they use it, but they prefer to use the bathroom on my carpet !!! We clean our carpets with a carpet cleaner once a month. The dogs cont. to go on the floors. What can we put on the carpets to prevent them from returning to the same spots daily !! I wont spank them and we never catch them in action. We lock them outside in the morning for about 15 minutes, they still hold it until they return to the carpet. It only seems to be happening in the morning ! Short of putting them in diapers, I dont know what to do..... Help
What do you do with a daycare kid who won't stop having accidents? I work for a daycare and this one little boy, 4 and a half keeps peeing himself. it is daily. the parents bring in clothes and tell me to punish him. he poops once a week and pees himself once or twice a day. this has been going on for five months. should i put him back in diapers for a week or so. i'm tired of taking time away from the other kids to change him out of his clothes. what kind if i do that. i want to get this kid to stop doing it. when should i put him in diapers. next accident. next pooping accident. any other suggestions. help me daycare providers please.
How often do you bathe your infant baby? Is bathing them daily to much for them or is it ok. I was just wondering, i give my son a bath once a week, unless he happens to have a bad diaper or pee's on himself. Did you bath them daily? My son is 6 weeks old.
My 4-1/2 year old is soiling her underwear almost daily. She had a sore bum, tries to hold it in. Advice? She's been potty trained with no problems for 2-1/2 years It's been about 6 months of dirty underwear now and I've had enough of it. I took her to the doctor and she prescribed ointment for the anus, to heal any soreness and told us how to keep her stool soft. Now she has soft stools - some get in the toilet, but still a lot go into the underwear. I'm about to put her back in diapers, but she is about to start kindergarten, so it would be very embarassing. Is she just in the habit of trying to hold it now? What can I do?
Can you feed a 3month old anything other than formula? My 3 month old son (born april 19th) had constipation about 2 months ago and my doctor told us to feed him alittle watered down apple juice. Well he aquired a taste for it and now loves it and cries for at least one bottle of juice daily and wont calm down until he tastes the juice. My husband has gave him unwatered down juice on accident and he loves that also but 95% of the time we water it down. He gets a couple messy diapers but overall it doesnt seem to be a problem. Is this ok? or are we harming him in anyway. Has anyone else fed thier 3 month old things other than milk (formula)? Also he does not like the baby puddings, cereal or apple sause but loves adult banana pudding either in tiny spoonfulls or put into a warm milk bottle and mixed up. Is this harmfull? Please help us. I am sure it is ok but just wondering.
Is it possible to be allergic to Balmex? I have a fully-potty-trained 2-year-old who was recently struggling with a severe diaper rash. Putting Desitin or Neosporin on it seemed to help. Balmex, creamy Desitin, Butt Paste, Doc Browns (I think that was the name)- none of these helped, and actually sent my daughter into SCREAMING fits when I put them on. When I brought it up to my daughter's daycare teacher, she said she had been putting Blamex on her daily, and that she would scream and cry when she did. Anyway, I finally got the rash to go away with the help of some powerful antibiotics. But now she's showing signs of the rash again- not the typical diaper rash that starts out looking like a heat rash, but more like severe acne. And I also noticed that she smelled like diaper rash cream. When I asked my daughter if her teacher put goo on her, she said yes. Keep in mind that this kid doesn't wear diapers. So what gives? What is causing this rash, and is it possible for the Balmex to be aggravating it?
How much cleaning is a safe level of cleaning your home? I've heard so many people lately say that too much cleaning is bad for your home and children's immune systems. But then, you get warnings to clean countertops daily because of food/meat germs. What is a safe level (a good balance) of cleaning your home without going overboard? I vacuum regularly (house every 2-4 weeks, every week in kitchen) I only wash my hardwoods maybe once a month or two months, or longer. But I wash/vacuum the kitchen floor more often (son eats things off floor if I slip up). I wash countertops almost daily with METHOD cleaner (easy on lungs and environment). Sink every 2 weeks or so w/Ajax with Bleach. The only thing I use Clorox wipes on is the diaper pail maybe once a month because my son teethes the handle. I use Palmolive original soap for dishes. These are estimates. Am I overdoing anything? How do you find a balance?
How can I get my 3 1/2 to stop having accidents? She was potty trained last October, but now she has "wets her panties" on a daily basis. I have tried using rewards, taking away privleges/toys, time-outs but nothing seems to work. Even when I sit her on the potty every hour she does it! Has any one else had this problem? What can I do? I am really frustrated! I am afraid that I may have tried potty training when she wasn't ready. She never showed any interest in it, but I finally bit the bullet and trained her because I thought she was too old for diapers. I am worried that she wasn't ready and that is the reason I am having the problems now. Her doctor says she is just fine. Any suggestions?
Need suggestions on diapers....? My 3 year old son is not potty trained yet and sleeps in diapers. Every morning when he wakes up, he has peeed through his diaper and his clothes and sheets are wet. We don't get why this is suddenly happening on a daily basis. We were using Huggies but switched to Pampers to see if it would help and it didn't. Any suggestions on diapers so that I don't have to change his sheets every day?
How many All in One diapers do I need to get for my 6 month old? Please only for parents that use or have used the AIO cloth diapers answer. I am a stay at home mommy and I currently use huggies stay dry but I am switching to AIO cloth diapers. I have already ordered 6 diapers, and just wanted to know how many more I should get. Will he go through more cloth diapers than his regular? I have ordered 6 handmade AIO diapers that are good 18 lbs - 36 lbs so they will last him a while I am just wondering how many he'll go through daily. Should I put in an extra cloth liner?

How can I teach my baby not to wriggle and kick during a diaper change? I have an 8month old girl who just will not lay still during the process, so she ends up making quite a mess. If I try to hold her still or tell her no, or stop, she just screams. Any ideas how I can make this daily activity less of a battle of wills?
What are some reasons that I am so interested in pee and poopie and other weird stuff? I think some of it came from childhood experiences. But I don't know why it has such a strong set of feelings attatched to it... I didn't choose to be aroused by such odd things. But nwo that I am, I don't care to change it, cuz I kinda like it. but... why... why am I like this? is it cuz I was adopted as a 3 year old, and was late with developing such as I didn't talk until I was almost 3, and was slow as a child. now as an adult i've kind of caught up, or at least can fake it in situations where I am still immature. I love my stuffed animals, my diapers, getting wet in my clothes in front of people... and I just feel the overwhelming need to ask people questions to find like minded people, or assurance that I"m ok... even though at the same time... I say I don't care what people think of me. many rigid Christians would say I'm not Christian at all. bu tmy daily actions are that of helping others, and being a support to friends and family. so what's up with me????
how does my baby gain weight? my baby is 4 months old and dint gain much weight, his ped told to feed him as often as i can and iam doing that but still he is not gaining.iam giving him solids, baby cereal everything and nothing is helping. He has 6 wet diaper and poops daily.Any suggestions plz.
Does President Bush wear adult diapers? I think so but I'm not sure. I think he has to with all the crap he is producing daily. It is amazing that 30% of his supporters still love to eat it up like it was ambrosia. What do you think?

Daily activity report form for childcare? I just started an in-home daycare. I have been writing down info for the parents such as: how many diapers changed, wet or dirty, meals eaten, incidents....stuff like that. Does anyone know where I can get a good form for free so I dont gotta write it all down! I could make one on my own but I need ideas of format and stuff. If you have one you can share with me, PLEASE email it to me. cjszvd@yahoo.com THANK YOU!!!!!!
Planning of baby! Any suggestions on what I am missing for household items? I can't help it, I have always been a planner. I have looked online for a household item list but can't find one? Thanks in advance for your comments! Household item list: Diapers, wipes, nighlights, baby / regular laundry detergent, paper towels, toilet paper, razors, q-tips, cotton swabs/balls, petroleum jelly, sanitary pads, sandwich bags, garbage bags, bars of soap, dish soap, dishwasher soap, shampoo & conditioner, tooth paste, cleaning supplies, & dog food. *I have a separate list of baby items, but would like to stock up on daily household items as well* Thank you! I know I can take the baby places, but I would rather take it other places besides running to the grocery store, I just don't want to worry about things like household items!
Any creative suggestions and ideas for Potty Training my 4 year old son? I have had some difficulty potty training my son who is now 4 years old. I have attempted potty training him many times over the past year or so but it has never been successful. He is eager to start pre-school and they prefer children to be trained before starting. I have used this to get him more motivated to use the toilet. It seems to be working well... He has become very independent when it comes to changing his diaper. So I let the diapers run out last week and just jumped into it. He is doing well with it, after a little hesitation he seems to be getting the hang of it. I feel that things are getting better each day. I was curious to get some advice to keep him going in the right direction. Also, what do you suggest when going out for errands, to the park, etc. We have a few day trips coming up in the next few weeks and I would like to make them as smooth as possible. I am also a little concerned about preschool but I know they deal with this on a daily basis. First of all, Sweet & Salty, you are a complete moron! Where do get off writing such a thing, do you even know anything about parenting, obviously not so please get lost with your negativity and rudeness! Update: My son is now fully potty-trained! I appreciate the ideas I have received on here for taking him out through the process. I think that he just wanted to wait until he was fully ready and he is doing great!
Which diaper disposal system did you like? I have been reading reviews on many diaper disposal systems. Which one or what worked best for you? My main concern is keeping out smells and not having to empty daily. Your experiences will really help me out! Thanks!
My boss is having a baby boy in a few days and I need to think of a creative shower gift? If any new moms could give me suggestions as to what you need or want on a daily basis; either for yourself or your baby. She has already gotten lots of diapers and baby lotions and stuff like that, so if any one could think of other things, I would appreciate it!
how other moms' daily schedule of 3 1/2 mnths baby boy, on formula, not much napping, still needs night feeds baby also very prone to diaper rash, not rolling over yet, currently drolls much as he is putting his hands in his mouth all the time. don't have any family to help around since day one coming from hospital. Just wonder if there is things I could do better so that baby and I won't be too stressful and can get things around the house done in a more better way.

Why Docters in Asia are against Diapers/Nappy Pads? We keep drying his cotton clothes (thin nappy cothes) all the time and he keeps getting wet. Even in the cold we are unable to cover his leg. We need continous heaters to keep his feet warm. Asian docters never alow nappy pads or dipers. while we see in europe, people use that frequently. how many blankets we need to wash daily?? this is so sick.. My baby is one and half month old.. yes.. we use plastic sheet. but because or think cotton cloth, sometimes he used to wed all his cloths.. and we change his whole cloth atleast once in night. My question is.. why NO Diapers?
I am looking for a "infant needs " list - of under shirts, diapers sleepers etc on a per day - per week list. How many sleepers does a new born need per day? Expecting an new grandbaby and want to supply daily needs.
11 year old girl dies after being raped and babies raped daily? If this was a headline in the USA people would be up in arms but it is in Africa; why is nothing being done? Where i UNICEF? Where is the Red Cross? Where is Amnesty International? She was so burtally raped that before she died she had to wear diapers and was incontinent... http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/programmes/from_our_own_correspondent/6272043.stm Elf, yes, that belief about raping babies to prevent AIDS is just so dreadful and so horrifying you can hardly wrap your mind around it; what can we do with such incredible lack of education? Yes, I understand the logistics that make it nearly impossible to turn the tide, but surely someday, some group will make a difference. As with Iman (model from Ethiopia, married to David Bowie) is making against female genital mutilation of which she is a victim herself and is now in a position to make her (and all the victim's) voice heard. Yes, thank God for the groups that are there and are trying, it is like salmon swimming upstream to try to help in that vast country with so much opposition from the leaders and politicians; we need to remember these stories and do all we can from here to help. Apathy, which we fall into after reading so much horror, is so dangerous that our outrage is of tremendous value as it will spur us to at least contribute to the Red Cross, UNICEF, etc & pray.
Dog Droppings all over, HELP!!!!!? Ok my wife wanted a dog for about 3 years now. so i finally got her one for her birthday, but she never put the time into potty training her puppy, now she is almost 4 months and she (i apologice before handed) Shits and pees everywhere, we have tried several things. we confine her to a kids 4X4 playground gate with dog diapers. it didnt work, since my wife doesnt change the diaper daily it was a nasty paste of dropings in the floor. i use to clean it but i got tired of it, after that we decide it to let her be all over the room, it didnt work,. she would do it again all over the room, about a week ago we move her to the bathroom but oh my god how do i regret that, and now i was in the process of cleaning it up and decide it to come here. we are now moving her to the downstairs, at the laundry room, i really dont want to keep her outside we dont have a fenced back yard and she is a beautyfull toy poodle someone could try to take her, ANY IDEAS PLEASE, ANYTHING AT ALl ok fisrt of all the puppy is not mistreat it hehe just in case. and i have tried the crate thats were we had her before and it didnt work at all, so im really looking for more options, than just keeping the dog outside, far as im concern a dog is a huge responsability and she is just not doing it, and i dont have any esperience at all with dogs but anyhow i just sit down and talk to her and she agreed to take the puppy outside 5 times a day and more, well see how that goes. and she eats pedigree for puppy, and drink dasani watter she is really well taken care in that matter is just the potty training and i absolubty refuse to give the dog away hehe, over this she allready mentioned once when i told her to pick up some dropings and i told her that shes not 14 anymore and mom isnt coming to do it for her. I SWITCH FOOD TODAY, Since one of the answers said pedigree is a los quality food. i went to my local pet shop and switch to "Nutro Ultra" and i notice that when i serve it she came really fast looking for it and she never did that with the pedigree, and as i can see so far so good. As well i bought the drops for training, im giving a last try before i take her to training.
Baby hasn't had a bowel movement in 60 hrs !!?? My baby is 3 1/2 weeks old and is exclusively breast-fed. Is it normal for her to not have a bowel movement in almost 2 1/2 days ?? I am just worried if this is normal for a baby this small. She seems to be eating normally and has 6 to 8 wet diapers daily.
Is it normal for 7wk old infant with colic to have daily pain/rolling stomach b/c she doesn't go liquid poop? My 7 wk old infant daughter has colic & in the last 3 weeks she has started not going to the bathroom but is not constipated. I've gone to the doctor regular & ER 1 time & it isn't helping. I have been unable to let her go for the week that they say a breastfed baby can wait until going poop b/c she is inconsolable with pain if I do. Shes breastfed, takes simethicone regularly & given glycerin suppositories as dr recc'd up to 2/day but still having pxs. I've tried baking soda & sugar as recc'd for sour stomach. I've tried diluted prune juice as recc'd but it hasn't helped. I try rubbing/pressure on her tummy which she doesn't like, patting back, bouncing, holding, walking, white noise, vibrations, dark room, try diapering & feeding too. When she goes poop, it is liquid but everyday her tummy rolls, she strains squirms and cries & nothing comes out. If I wait 24+ hours to see if she goes, all she leaves is skid marks in her diaper, & is inconsolable day & night. Any suggestions?
My two year old has intense temper tantrums daily. Advice please? My two year old son has always had a bad temper. He threw temper tantrums in the womb (if that's possible). He literally beat me up from the inside! Melt downs have been frequent since birth and are only getting worse. Now that he is communicating more, the tantrums are getting louder and longer. When he has to do something that he doesn't want to do (diaper change, hair washed/combed, dressed etc) he throws himself onto the floor kicking and screaming. He does this every time it's time to go out somewhere or when he has to be strapped into a car seat. He tempers quick at night too and we aren't getting any sleep after he wakes up and starts demanding things. We DO NOT give into these tantrums and we usually walk away or time him out when we can. Despite this, the tantrums continue. Dr. says he's just a strong-willed and intense little boy. I need some help dealing with this. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
tricks to speed diaper rash healing? She had diarhhea for 3 days, and was left with a horrible diaper rash. I am washing her bottom with soap and water 2 times daily, changing her diaper every hour and using balmex on it. She is not crying in pain when I touch it today; yet it doesn't appear to be getting much better. The diarhea is over. she is 3 months old so taking her to the potty really isn't an option
How do you handle 2 children? ok, so I know what it's like to have a newborn and I know that for the life of me I could not possibly care for another child between the 12 daily feeds, 10 diaper changes, pain and sleep deprivation. So what do you do when you have a second one?? please share any and every tip you have! Do you just let one or the other cry of hunger or discomfort or whatever?Do you not shower, or go to the washroom or eat? I just can't imagine caring for 2 children without an extra set of arms and legs- and assuredly enough, I know they will not grow so I need alternatives! btw. i'm going on the premise that the children are 18-24 month apart and you are staying home by yourself with both while the husband works. and kudos to all of you moms who have been there!!! It's funny, i'm not as worried about having 3 as i am about hte second because I assume that when you're at the 3 the first 2 are old enough to entertain eachother and you are more or less a pro mom by then punk- my question is precisely: HOW? i would love to hear some real-life experiences. we are more than 2 children in our family but we were raised elsewhere, different norms, different expectations etc.
A breastfeeding, pooping, sleeping, and growth spurt question...? ...all rolled into one big question! First of all, my baby nursed almost throughout the entire night. It wasn't his usual 'passed out on the nip' nursing; he was really gulping the milk down! This is the first time he's done this since my milk came in. Does this mean growth spurt? **BTW he's 7 weeks tomorrow. Second, he's not pooping as much. He used to poop during or after each feeding, on average, 10-12 times a day. Does this have to do with a growth spurt; is he digesting more of the milk? I'm not really worried, as he still poops daily and has plenty wet diapers. Third, he's eating a lot more, and he's sleeping a lot more, too. Usually, he'll only sleep if I have him in a soft carrier, and for a 6-7 hour stretch at night. The past few days, I've been able to lay him in his playpen and walk away, and he stays zonked for an hour or so. Again, related to increased feedings and growth spurt?
alright, different approach this time...??? I am the mother of a 3 and a half yr. old boy and a 5 month girl...my son is an excellent kid, he's never been jealous of the baby, he'll play with her and is always wanting to be a part of whatever her daily requirements are...ei..diaper changing, feeding, bathing, playtime, etc... I am a stay at home SINGLE mother thanks to our gov'ts system, and I do not take this for granted....although I do have the right to be on one yr/s mat leave just like any other mom.. Why should I feel guilt if the father of my daughter still lives at home and has no job cept moochin off his parents??? Maybe I'm a bit insecure, but is it time I ditched the dodo and of course I will soon be back to work for my family, so should I dump his obviously lazy ass and wait for new prospects in the future??? And I'm not a dumbass ho, I have worked in a hospital setting and for a lawyer before I ever had kids....I just want to know if he is just the one being lazy but blaming it all on me???
My 17 yr old min pin (dog) has severe anxiety problems.? i HAVE TO LEAVE HER FOR 5 HRS. DAILY. i PUT A DIAPER ON HER AND PLACE HER IN A COATED WIRE PEN. sHE RUNS ON THE GATE, BARKING AND PANTING FROM THE MINUTE I LEAVE.DOES ANYONE USE CLOMACOM OR SOMETHING ELSE TO HELP THIS POOR DOG OUT. i HATE THAT THE LAST YEAR OR TWO WILL BE HER SUFFERING WHEN I HAVE TO WORK. SHES BEEN SUCH A SWEET HEART ALL HER LIFE. SHE HAS NO HEARING, SEES ONLY SHADOWS, BUT OTHERWISE SHE ACTS LIKE A PUPPY!
My wife is a stay at home mom for our 2 year old. I work 60 hours a week. Should I have to do house work? She gets mad because I don't change diapers or clean on a daily basis. I provide for the family and I feel I have done everything that I can. Most evenings I am too tired to do much but I do what I can. She says being a stay at home mom is the hardest job, but when I come home and she can tell me everything that was on tv that day I don't much believe it. Please tell me if I am crazy or if she is just lazy. Thanks.
Baby Milestones- Week By Week What should they be??? Just curious about what kinds of milestones I should be on the lokout for with my newborn. I know thew vary from baby to baby, but there should be some site that lists many of them. I know the biggies like walking, talking, etc. But what about how much they should eat daily, how ofetn, how many dirty diapers a day, weight gain, when they can take juice/solid foods, etc? Thanks for the info in advance! :0)
My child's father is not paying child suppert...HELP!!!? I have decided that since he says he will not give me any cold hard cash for child support, that I will stick it to him daily for everything from soap to diapers to food....I need help in developing a list that i can give to him so that he can see just "how much" it really costs to raise a child. I met with the DA today...you should not assume that I am not doing what needs to be done to ensure my child is taken care of. I have been fightiong with him for over a year about child support. He and his attorney have managed to find every loophole available to keep from paying. We have been before the judge on 4 different occasions, and unfortunately, since I live in LOOSIANA, the courts are so backed up with deadbeats that it takes an act of congress to get things done. We do have an order for support. There is no dollar amount attatched to it. It states that he has to provide for the child in relation to our income ratio...table set forth by LA to establish child support. He purchases things for his home, but none of it makes its way to my house. I have to call and ask for diapers.....then he says he does not have the money. The DA is working to get that rectified. I have a job. I am not just a deadbeat mom trying to beat up on the deadbeat dad. I just want OUR son to be taken care of.
Do i need a diaper pale if the trash shoot is 15ft outside the door? I live in a big building so we have trash rooms with chutes in there, the trash room is 15ft maybe even less outside my door down the hallway, so do i need to get a diaper pale for when the baby comes? We usually take out the trash daily anyways, and it is not a problem, but i dont know how stinky diapers are, if i just tie them in a regular grocery bag and take them out at the end of the day would the house be stinky? I probably can not take them out until the husband is home, i wouldnt want to leave the baby alone even if i am 15ft away if i cant see the baby and trash in one hand baby in another seems dirty. So can i forgo the diaper pale or will the diaper stench of 12 hours kill me?
Baby shower? Ok I am super frustrated...my older sister VOLUNTEERED to throw my shower. We aren't having it until a month before I am due. She is an extremely unreliable person and is always complaining that she has no money. Her and her husband never pays their bills on time and are acutally in the middle of filing bankruptcy. Anyway...long story short today she comes to my house to drop off my nephew and my husband shows her a dress we bought for our baby...she says "I don't know what you need a shower for when you have all this stuff." We have been stocking up on diapers, wipes, bottles, socks, blankets, clothes, daily care items etc. WE like to be prepared and don't EXPECT anyone to buy us gifts. Nonetheless I just know in my heart at the 12th hour she's going to pull a "I can't afford your shower" and it is going to devastate me!! What do I do? Be patient and wait to see what she does or tell her now that I want to handle it?
isn't it so funny to see protester protesting China on Olympics? We all forget how we support China on our daily life, even our baby diaper is made in China, oh I can't live without my wheel of furtune show!!! bla bla, but I am taking part on a protest ha! dude look on the back of your fancy LCD TV and READ where it says its made!!! got it??? Stop buying goods which are made in China. Give up your remote which is made in China!!!
Pinkish spot on 3 month old baby's diaper...Should I be concerned? Ok, I already went to the doctor because I thought it was blood, but the Dr. told me it was normal for the diapers to get those "spots" because of the urine and the gel and something about the ammonia in urine causes the gel to turn that color. But I haven't seen the spot daily, only once in a while (Like twice a month, and these past 3 days once a day) and I change my baby's diaper every 3 hours always.... Should I see another doctor, or should I trust that one?? (Forgot to say it's a Boy)
So is it cool now...? ...to wear astronaut diapers?? We should all just wear them daily - right??
can anyone tell me what pages are these quotes on? it is from the Hardball book by Chris Matthews? "Better to have them p....n' inside the tent than outside p....n' in" “He’s not going to win. It’s a Republican district. He’d be better for us if he loses. He’ll work for me. He’ll bring his organization with him.” “Florida Senator, Lawton Chiles, rejected the well-tailored dark blue suit so fashionable in DC. ‘When I dress like that, no on comes up to me in the airport to say hello.’” “JFK would call 5 or 6…LBJ would take 19 names and call them all.” “’Cry Baby’, screamed the headlines of the New York Daily News above a picture of Newt in diapers. ‘Newt’s Tantrum: He Closed Down the Government Because Clinton Made Him Sit at the Back of the Plane.’” 10.“The purpose of the war room was not just to respond to Republican attacks…It was to respond to them fast, even before they were broadcasted or published, when the lead of the story was still rolling around in the reporter’s mind…”
Whats the most polite way to suggest on a baby shower invitation? (2 part question)? So, my teenage (18) daughter is pregnant. Here's my questions: 1. She is pretty well set up on major items like crib, stroller, car seat, etc. How do I word it on the shower invites that we really need diapers of all sizes, wipes, lotions, etc.? (the daily esentials) 2. I was the pariah of the famaily for MY un-wed pregnancy status (ironically with THIS daughter). I just (after 18 years) began communicating with one side of my family and now they'll be tsk-tsk'ing this latest development and certainly the "like mother like daughter" comments. I certainly cannot NOT invite them as they'll see it as hiding it from them. Should I word anything differently in the invites to them? Should I write some sort of letter? do I just send the invite "as-is" and let it go at that? My dad will be furious as this makes him a great-grandpa. He hasn't gotten used to being a grandpa yet. The grandkids don't even call him grandpa, just a pet name that doesn't reflect grandpa status. HELP! shower is 5/6
Persistent fungal diaper rash- please help? My 10mo son has had a diaper rash for two months now. Certain medications prescribed by his pediatrician helped, but then it came right back. He just had a doctors visit today & she prescribed Nystatin again, which didn't work last time. Please give me your advice. What we've done: -Triple Paste or A&D (we were using these when he first got the rash) -Nystatin -Nystatin w/ some kind of steriod -Fusion (script that has zinc oxide, miconazole nitrate & petrolatum) -Switched diaper brand from Pampers to Huggies -Switched baby soap from J&J to Baby Majic (hypoallergenic & dye free) -Wiped with just water & paper towel for a while (no results, went back to sensitive wipes) -Strep test came back negative -Started adding just a splash of juice to his water rather than the 50/50 mixture -He goes diaper free at least 15 minutes a day -Using Caldesene (powder with zinc oxide in it) -Giving him a yogurt daily Changed every 1-2 hours and air drys before putting another diaper on.
What do you think about that Tampax ad? Aren't there other methods for dealing with this time of the month? Even in Africa I would think that using fabric that you wash daily would suffice. How do they deal with infants and diapers? I don't know... I just feel this advertisement is trying to make you buy MORE of their product through sympathy ads.
What's wrong with us? I often feel so run down in my relationship. I keep asking my wife for help and she never listens. I feel that I do almost everything in the relationship. I - earn 80% of the income in a high stress high reward environment - get the kids ready for school / daycare daily, and take them - change all of the baby's diapers except for maybe 2-4 changes on the weekend - do all the manly chores like taking out the trash, recycling and so on - do my own laundry and ironing - drive everyone everywhere My wife - lost our first house because she spends more than she earns - though the only family expense she pays is daycare - does not drive, refuses to get a drivers licence because she doesn't like to drive in this "big" city - is obsessed with television and spends 3-4 hours a night watching it - does not have patience with our daughter and frequently shouts at her. We then get into big arguements about it because I feel for the poor girl who just wants her mom to play with I've suggested counselling. She refuses to go.
My daughter needs help, can someone give me advice? I have a 2 year old and she started telling me that it hurts when she pees. I'm really worried about her, but I can't take her to the doctor right now, I don't have insurance or the money to pay for it, even with the discount. Can someone help me make her comfortable until I can go get her Quest, or at least until Friday when my husband gets paid? I know what she really needs is medical help, but I just can't, we're living paycheck to paycheck, and I'm in far enough debt, please, I really need to know what to do... I'm so worried about her. I bathe her daily, and make sure to wash her EVERYWHERE, I change her diapers as soon as they're wet, wipe her butt CLEAN when she messes, and I have no idea what's wrong. She may be dehydrated, but I can't get her to drink anymore water than she already drinks, and she won't touch juice. She hardly wet her diaper today, and complains that her 'she she hurts'. Advice anyone? She's not screaming in pain, or crying, which is the only reason I haven't taken her to the doctor yet. She just hasn't peed very often and only mentions it once or twice a day, that's why I felt it was ok to wait a little.
Diaper rash spreading now to other areas of body- help? My fifteen month old daughter has a horrible diaper rash unlike anything I've ever seen. It's got bleeding spots now. It started about a week ago and just doesn't get any better. Yesterday she developed a rash on both of her cheeks (face) and under the inner underside part of her left leg. This morning she woke up with rash under both eyes. I have an appointment with her urgent care physician at 2:30 but does anyone have any clue what could be wrong with her? My mom said something about fifth's disease- what's that? No new soaps, no one else with rashes, I've given oatmeal baths daily sometimes several times daily and we've tried numerous creams and pastes including monistat 7 externally because we thought it could have been a yeast infection. Also have used yogurt because we thought it was yeast. Everything is the same including the diapers which are Pampers just like they have been since birth. Plus she's in the process of potty training so she doesn't really wear diapers that much- she wears regular cotton undies for toilet training. No fever and no sickness such as runny nose or anything. She seems perfectly happy- it isn't phasing her at all! No new laundry soaps. We were sick two weeks ago with a cold which is when the rash first started to show itself but the next week it was fully there and not planning on going anywhere. And now this week it began spreading. When we were all sick with the cold we all had orange juice and I thought that was why there was a rash- the acid in the OJ but it wouldn't still be there if it were a reaction to the acid, right?
OUCH!!! My poor baby...? My poor little girl has a yeast infection, I took her to the doctor on Monday for it and they gave me a prescription for Nystatin, twice daily. They told me to apply a diaper rash cream for the rest of the diaper changes. So it's been two days and it's worse than it was before, it's now oozing clear pus and she screams bloody murder when I have to change her. The doctor said to give it another day or two...is there ANYthing else I can do for her? It's killing me to see her in pain!
How do I deal with my hurt feelings b/c of m-i-l's actions and comment? My situation: I had our 1st baby in May. DH and I took baby to grandma's house (stroller ride) everyday during the summer b/c our horses were at grandma's house, and we needed to care for the horses. We live only a 5 min walk away from Grandma's. Every time we went to the farm, I'd say hi to Grandma. Grandma had a diaper changing station in her livingroom, and I used it almost daily b/c baby would fill her diaper almost everytime we went to Grandma's. Mid Sept, grandma commented to me that I needed to not come over as much; she was seeing too much of me. The comment was hurtful, but perhaps necessary. I have quit going over to Grandma's and I have been very resentful about it b/c I am hurt by the comment. What hurts me the most is that Grandma (m-i-l) goes to my s-i-l's numerous times, and Grandma hasn't been to our house once since mid Sept. BTW, my sil lives close to Grandma's as well. She has two boys (6 &10). Grandma sees our baby occassionally, but I have... noticed that everytime she has been with our baby, I have not been included. I almost feel like the woman is avoiding me. I am bothered by this. I feel like m-i-l prefers s-i-l over me. It hurts b/c things used to be awesome between m-i-l and me, but something changed, and I have no clue why. I am so bothered by it that I want to discuss this with my DH. He is tired of hearing about it. I know that I need to speak with m-i-l, but there's a big part of me that just wants to be revengeful. If I do speak with m-i-l, I'm going to need a plan so that I don't get revengful, and so that I get my feelings heard. Thanks for reading this, and thanks for your response. Manny, I wish that I could think like a guy; I really do. Life would be so much more simple. I have quit going to her house, except for the two times that I stopped by with some baby pictures. She is very pleasant with me, etc. Everything seems all dandy on the outside, but on on the inside, I'm horribly hurt. The pain digs deeper everytime I find out about m-i-l hanging out with my s-i-l.
17 month old boy had stomach flu, now puking once a day going on 5th day...normal? My little guy suddenly developed the ugly symptoms of a stomach bug...vommiting, fever, diarhea. Started on Sunday, no puke monday, puked tuesday (once) puked wednesday (once) and now 2 am he puked again. He has also had at least one diarhea BM a day. drinking fluids had a couple wet diapers wednesday, acts mostly normal. Husband and I have same symptoms minus daily vomit. is it just that he has a weaker immune system?, wednes day he ate 2 smal bowls of chicken noodle soup, some scrambled eggs, and a few bites of porridge. He kept it down til 2 am....is this normal? any tips?
after potty training 3 year old his bottom is covered with rash? I've heard of diapers causing a rash but never white cotton underwear. It's not like a diaper rash it's up higher on his butt cheeks. It couldn't be our laundry detergent if the rash isn't where his clothes are touching his skin anywhere else right? we've always used the same soaps for him since birth so this has me stumped. He potty trained over the weekend & has been completely accident free since Tuesday but now the rash has been there every since Monday. The only thing different is he's wearing underwear. My husband thinks maybe it's a heat rash, But I disagree because I would think a diaper would hold in more heat. What will help heal this as Hydrocortisone cream hasn't helped and we've used it daily since Tuesday. Any ideas? ok # 1, he's afraid of doctor so it will be last resort it's a rash not a sickness or disease for goodness sakes # 2, it's not at all any where near where he potty's or wipes as I said above the rash is up way at the top of his butt cheeks across both sides even with the top of his butt crack #3, I'm cleaning him up every time so I know he's getting clean I was just wondering if anyone else's child had a similar reaction after wearing big kid undies for the first time
what's in my infant's diaper? I'm breastfeeding my 9 month old, we have had a stool culture and they've ruled out human parasites, they look like strings or worms, are a light brown color and fill the diaper with a strong odor. They come every time he passes stool about once a day for 11 days now. The only thing different in my diet has been a Zpak, yeast cream, some alcohol from New Years Eve and Musinex for a cough we both have. lab thinks they are vegetable fibers but he doesn't eat regularly, I occasionally give him mushed banana or toast or mashed potatos (not on a daily basis either)
How to get a 6yr old to poop on the toilet? My 6 yr old stepson has had this problem for the last 2 yrs. He will not poop on the toilet. He will hold it as long as he can. Which is usually until he falls asleep. If you make him sit on the toilet he will hop up & down to stop himself and scream & cry. Unfortunately because I am his stepmother I have no rights to take him to the doctor. I know that his diet is not good either. He will only eat chicken nuggets & pizza. He will make himself vomit if you put a veggie in front of him. From what his father & I are told his mother has taken him to the Dr & told us that we are to give him laxatives. I refuse to give them to him. He is too young to be fed laxatives on a daily basis especially when there is no reason he can't go he just doesn't want to. His father and I have decided that when he comes to our house he is to put on pull ups? Is this a bad idea for a 6 yr old? We have told him if he can't act like a big kid & go on the toilet he will have to wear diapers. Is this harsh?

I am suppos to receive child support but he doesnt pay! Does he have rights to his son even if he does not pay His mom is great at coming around and being there for my son but her son is a deadbeat dad.Every now and then maybe every 2-3 months he will buy some diapers and give them to his mom to give to me. I had a child support conference and asked for supervised visitation because he drinks a lot and smokes marijuana on a daily basis. He did not agree with the supervised visitations so now we have to go to court. His mom watches my son while I work and I found out she lets him take my son when he wants. Is there anything i can do to stop him from taking my son without my knowledge. I know he has rights but he doesn't even pay his child support and he hardly ever sees my son only every now and then when he decides to come around to take him from his mom and even then his possessive girlfriend has him, and I don't know how my son is treated because he is only 7 months and cannot tell me. What advice could I get to take care of this situation.
We would love to adopt a biracial hispanic baby girl. Do you know anyone interested in allowing us to adopt? We have tried for14 years to have a baby. We have spent all of our savings going to doctors taking fertility treatments. I nearly died from a reaction a shots I took daily. One time, we lost the baby three months later and it devastated us. We mortgaged our home, and my husband took an extra job to earn money to go to an adoption facilitator. We have been waiting since forever and now they told us that our contract is up that we'd have to pay another huge amount of money if we want to adopt. We have just about given up. We are a biracial couple and we love each other. We are placing our trust in God. Do you know of anyone interested in placing their baby girl for adoption (biracial, African American, hispanic) please let us know. We would like a daughter because we have a room and tons of baby girl clothes, diapers, bottles, crib, blankets, push, everything and have had them for about a year now, waiting for a child to love. Please let us know.
My boy cat has stones? I'm pretty sure that's what is going on. 5 years ago his bladder ruptured and was in the hospital for 2 weeks, said he had a mass in his urethia, unoperable, if they did, he would have to wear diapers, no way a cat. Anyway, lately, he has spells and can't pee for a few days, screames trying, then he starts peeing. A week later we go thru it again. Don't say, PUT HIM DOWN, he's my life, I won't do it. I'm pretty sure it's stones. Is there something I can give him daily to desolve these things? Seems to me he keeps makeing them. I sure hope someone knows, THANKS, it's killing both of us.
