Best Cloth Diapers Questions
What are the best, easiest, most convenient cloth baby diapers? I am absolutely overwhelmed looking at the endless products available/necessary for cloth diapering! I used cloth diapers for my babies (many years ago) and there was basically 1 choice. You got a cloth diaper, plastic pants and diaper pins and you learned how to put it together. NOW - there are diaper "systems". How do you know what is needed, which is most convenient, and best for baby and new mother both? I am looking for a great product for my soon to arrive grandson. Thank you!
What is the best brand of all in one cloth diapers? I tried the bumpkins for my son. I gave up & switched to disposables because he kept getting diaper rashes. We are expecting another baby in Oct. & would like to try the cloth diapers again. I need to know from experience which brand has the best absorbancy & holds up well in the washer & dryer. I'm considering Fuzzi Bunz or Bum Genius. These diapers are expensive & I want to purchase the right kind this time. I hope someone can help..
Where is the best place to get cloth diapers? I've been looking online but everything seems really expensive. $10-$20 just for one. I saw other questions asked about how many should you buy and they said about 25 to 30. Also, I've seen many different types of cloth diapers. Which ones have worked the best for you and why?
Using cloth diapers- still leaking at night. What else can I do? Which are the best to use at night? I have tried the jam tots plush diaper, but it leaked within a few hours. Last night we used fuzzi bunz. It worked much better, with a hemp insert plus an extra insert on top, but somehow it seemed to leak out the side. Is there a certain diaper that is better to use at night? Or do cloth diapers tend to leak at night? We don't have any problems during the day. My son lays on his side at night, which I think contributes to the leaking. Thanks.
Whats the best brand of cloth diapers? I've found a ton of different brands of one size cloth diapers. I was reading about Tiny Tush, and then I found a bunch more like Kissaluvs, SwaddleBees, Mommy's Touch, bumGenius, and others. I wanted to know which one was the best, or is this kind of cloth diaper even worth the money that they cost initially? Are there any other brands that may be better than my listed ones?
What is the best kind of cloth diapers? I have a three month old girl, Ella. I'm really curious about cloth diapers since disposable are super expensive over time and I'm tired of taking the trash out everyday! (Brrrrr It's cold outside!!) Could someone please tell me what they think is the best kind of cloth diaper? The all in one, the prefold or the one's with inserts? Anyone know a good brand to go with?? Or perhaps where I could find them at a nice family friendly price? Thanks!!!
Need recommendations on cloth diapers - which brand is best? I currently use pampers but I would like to switch to cloth diapers. I have no time to deal with a diaper service nor the old fashion cloth diapers that my grandmother probably used. I have seen lots of websites with cloth diapers that promise easy use and leak free, but would like to see what other parents recommend. I need a cloth diaper that is as quick as a Pampers diaper and easy to wash. Thanks!
What are the best cloth diapers? I am thinking of buying cloth diapers for when my baby is due in September. What are the best ones to buy? I've been looking on Ebay and am a little confused with all of the different types out there. Thanks in advance.
What is the best cloth diapers? My daughter is 2 weeks old... we got a ton of disposables for the shower and are still using them but I'd like to use cloth (at least partially) now that we are getting settled. My criteria for the best cloth diaper is performance equivalent to a disposable; so far Pampers Swaddlers have been far better then Huggies for us and we haven't tried anything else yet. I want the leak protection and ease of use of the Pampers. I am guesing that most cloth "systems" are cheaper then disposable in the long run so money is of little concern. Any suggestions? Of course I'll be changing the diapers what kind of question is that? Do you think I'd put a diaper on a kid and leave it there forever?
Whats your experience with Cloth Diapers? Which is best? ? My husband and I are trying to start a family. I want to start preparing now and finding out the facts before we have a child. We are interested in using cloth diapers. I am staying at home so washing wont be an issue. We want to try to save money and help the environment. So if you have used cloth diapers I would like to know about your experience and which cloth diapers you prefer and why??? Also if you have any other money saving suggestions that would be great.
What's the best diaper cover for cloth diapers? I am using Premium size prefolds with my 23 pound 10 month old. He has outgrown the covers (Litewraps) and I would like to buy a different brand. The Litewraps were inexpensive, but didn't hold up well. We used the Bummis Super Whisper Wrap when he was smaller and I thought the velcro was a little wimpy. Any suggestions? to those who have used cloth diapers, which kind is best? so i've been looking into cloth diapers and i want to use them. thing is, i'm not sure which kind! help! Pocket Diapers Prefolds & Covers All in ones which did you use, & what are the pros & cons of them? thanks a bunch!!! if you don't know anything about cloth diapers, please move along without comment. thanks!
Best cloth diapers out there---anyone know? Ok so I love my fitteds with a diaper cover, but I also like the convenience of one size pocket diapers. I have the cotton swaddlebees, and a rumparoo. They both seem to leak out of one leg. I have tried it on all the sizes, making sure they are snug on the leg, but still she gets wet and it leaks onto her cloths. Is this normal for a one size pocket? Does anyone have any tips and does anyone have any experience with these kind of diapers and which ones are best?? Thanks
How do cloth diapers work and what do i need to buy? i want to use cloth diapers on my lil one when they are born but i dont know which are best to get and what exactly to get. I understand you need to buy the prefold and the outer waterproof part..can someone describe to me how this works. Also how many for each baby stage do i need...ie: new born etc etc
Your favorite cloth diapers for older babies? I have a 13 month old and we've never cloth diapered before. What are your favorite cloth diapers for larger babies? He's 23 pounds and about 30 inches tall, and of course, really really active. What types would be best to use, and what types would be best to avoid? Ugg... there are so many choice. With disposables it's pretty much which brand do you want to pay for, and which one has the stretchiest sides. Ahh!
What types of cloth diapers do you prefer? There are so many different types of cloth diapers, and I don't mean brands. I mean prefolds, pockets, AIO's, fitteds....what type do you like best and why? I'm considering making the switch and would like to hear your experiences. Thanks so much! And yes, I have researched diaperpin, diaperswappers, and looked at numerous websites.
How many cloth diapers should I take on an outing? How many cloth diapers should I take with me while running errands, going to the store, and/or dining at a restaurant? I will be bringing along the diapers that will already have the insert in them ahead of time. Also, should I bring 1 regular diaper bag (for clean diapers, ointment, wipes) and 1 waterproof bag (for soiled)? Should I bring flushable/biodegradable liners, as well? Thank you! Forgot to add that I'm due with our first on April 11th. New to cloth diapering.
Where to buy cloth diapers for a good price? I have been looking on the internet for a few days to find some cloth diapers but they are so darn expensive... Does anyone have any good tips for me on where to find cloth diapers?
How do I get started using cloth diapers? I am considering cloth diapers but know nothing about using them. How many diapers will I need to start with for a newborn? What other accessory items will I need to start with? What is the initial cost? Is a diaper service necessary or is washing them yourself simple enough? Is there a brand or style of diaper you have had luck with? Any tips at all will be very much appreciated!
How do you effectively clean cloth diapers at home? I'm researching on whether cloth or disposable diapers are more cost efficient. For now I figure I will use the cloth diapers at home, and the disposable diapers when we're out, to keep from having 2 transport used diapers. My only question insofar with the cloth diaper is how to effectively clean it at home. Common sense tells me that soaking the diaper before throwing it in the wash is probably a good idea, but are there any special types of solvent I will be needing, or a special type of pail (w/ a lid) to keep odors at bay? I know u are supposed to swish the diaper in the toilet first, but are there any cleansers that are especially effective, and any that I should stay away from (harmful to baby)?
If you use cloth diapers, does your baby wear a bigger size because of bulk? I guess it might depend somewhat on what type of cloth diapers you're using? Anyway, I'm about to buy some prefolds + covers, and also some pocket type diapers, and was curious about how much bulk there is going to be, like in a onesie. Will my baby need to wear a bigger size, since I'm guessing clothes aren't usually cut to allow room for cloth diapers anymore?
How many cloth diapers should I stock up on? I want to go the cloth diaper method and I want to know how many of each size I should get, such as newborn/small, medium and large. Please dont quote how many times a baby poops. I want to know from people who have cloth diapers and how many on average they use. Thank you in advance
What do you use for liners with cloth diapers? Say your baby has a mild diaper rash... you want to use diaper cream, but cannot b/c it is advised against whilst using BumGenius cloth diapers. What do you use as a liner? I've been using cut up old t-shirts and I also bought some flushable liners, but the flushable liners feel rough like fabric softener sheets. I'm worried the cream will still seep through to the diaper.
what kind of diaper rash ointment can I use with cloth diapers? So far, my youngest hasn't broken out in a rash from wearing cloth diapers overnight with plastic pants. In case she does, I want to know what kind of diaper rash ointment to use. Is there a cheap brand that clears up rashes and won't ruin the diapers? I know Desetin isn't good for cloth diapers because it makes them stinky.
Bum Genius cloth diapers- How to use the snap insert? How to wash 1st time? I just got my bumgenious cloth diapers in the mail. THey came with two inserts. One has snaps and one does not. I can't figure out how to use them. I don't see any snaps on the diapers? How do I use them? How do I wash them the first time and should I wash them more than once before use? Thanks! Is there a certain type of detergent I should use for the cloth diapers?
What does everyone think about cloth diapers? I am in my third trimester with my 3rd child and we have ALWAYS used Pampers--but we just got my youngest potty trained and I really don't want to start buyng diapers again every week. Is it hard to use cloth diapers? Is it hard to keep them clean? Good and bad experiences are appreciated! Thanks!
What diaper pail do you use for cloth diapers? I have been cloth diapering exclusively for 8 months. I use a blue and white Cosco diaper pail with a cloth liner inside. This worked great when his diapers were smaller, but now the pail fills up long before I'm ready to wash diapers. I know many families use a 13 gallon garbage can, but will this keep in odor? What diaper pails do you use? I'm concerned that diaper pails intended for paper diapers will have too small an opening for my diapers. Also, I do not want to have to use any type of disposable liner or bag for the diaper pail.
Whats the best cloth diaper to use on my baby? I'm going to be using cloth diapers on my baby. I'm stuck between the fitteds and the all in ones. I want something comfortable and leakproof. I was also wondering if these diapers will fit under the onesies and any other clothes I may get at the shower. They all seem to look a little bulkey.
What kind of diaper pail should I get if I use cloth diapers? I got some prefolds and covers because it was most economical and seems easy to use and I bought a "Bummis" tote bag thing in Large to put them in but I was wondering what kind of container I should use to hold the bag. Any recommendations? What did you use for cloth diapers?
What are your opinions on cloth diapers? I'm only 19 weeks pregnant, but already getting really nervous about the extra expenses of having a baby. We're thinking about trying cloth diapers for the baby rather than the disposable ones. What are your thoughts? Are they terribly hard to clean up? Anyone out there tried them? The only conclusion I've been able to come up with is that if someone is babysitting for me I would definitely let them use disposable ones, just because I'm sure it would be easier for them.
What do you do with the wipes when using cloth diapers? Yes, this is going to sound incredibly naive. I have a 4 1/2 month daughter and am finding the cost of disposable diapers pushing the high end of my budget (surprise, I know). I'm having an increasingly harder time talking myself out of cloth diapering, at least at home, but then what would I do with the (non-flushable) wipes? Would a regular, small step-open garbage can be enough to quell the odor if changed regularly? I have a Diaper Genie II at the moment but the thought of pushing dirty wipes down into that aren't really exciting.
What kind of soap do you use on your cloth diapers? Just curious. I got my Bum Genius 3.0s in the mail today and I was reading the instructions. It said to use soap that contained no dye or enzymes. I've been using regular Tide on all of my other cloth diapers (gDiapers & Bum Genius 2.0s). What do you use?
Line Dry Cloth Diapers in an Apartment? We are cloth diapering our newborn and I want to be able to sun-dry the diapers, to save on electricity and for the sun's antibacterial and antistaining properties. However, in our apartment's lease is actually a clause stating you cannot line dry clothes (diapers are mentioned) on our porch. Would it be as effective to air dry diapers by an open window? If I put the diapers by a west facing window in the late afternoon, would that be as effective as placing them outside, or do I need to resign myself to electric drying methods?
Do cloth diapers really keep babies dry, and do they leak? I'm expecting my first child (a boy) in October, and am thinking about using cloth diapers instead of disposables. Seems like a responsible choice both for the environment and for my bank account. But is it responsible for my son? I'm looking for specific experiences with cloth diapers, please, not links or other information about maintaining a green home. Of course, I'm referring to the new cloth diapers that come with velcro, no diaper pins, that include flushable liners, and that can be used from birth through potty training.
How to best treat discoloration of a wool cloth-diaper cover? My kid's wool cover, for his cloth-diapers, has discolored over the past year or so, due to constant contact with urine. We wash the covers about once a month. Is there a way to restore the cover back, without destroying the cover or the environment, to its original color...or at least as close as possible? Thanks! :' )
Which cloth diapers are best and where to buy them? My daughter is very small still, even though she's 2 months old and most cloth diapers I've seen are big. She has such sensitive skin, I'd really like to start using cloth diapers. I've been using Huggies Supreme Newborn Care diapers and they are nice, they don't have that plastic feel that most other diapers do. I'm moving in a week and I'm going to have a brand new washer and dryer (I live in an apartment currently and don't have my own), so that gives me even more of a reason to start cloth diapers. I've been considering gDiapers, they are kind of like disposible cloth diapers. Can you guys recommend any better ones?
which ones are the best cloth diapers you used? I am looking for organic unbleached diapers, preferably hemp. Which diapers did you use and which ones didn't work for you? thanks I really don't want to use disposables. They are bad for the environment AND your baby. I calculated it out and the cost for using cloth is much cheaper than disposables. Please, don't recommend using disposables. thanks
What are the best cloth diapers for a newborn? We will be using the bum genius 2.0 one sized diapers but I have heard that they don't fit a newborn as well, and I would like something that would stay away from our babies umbilicial cord. Any suggestions? There isn't a diaper service in this area, and I am fully capable of washing my own diapers.. my husband is a big help as well and has no problems with this. I am not interested in using disposables.. so I don't care what your expierence was with huggies or luvs. ;) Not trying to be rude, but just putting in the correct info so hopefully can get the right educated answers. Thanks very much.
What are the best cloth diapers (keeping in mind that I don't like the idea of fleece and poop together)? I also would love to make my own. Does someone know of a simple, poop-containing pattern? Thanks!!! Thanks to those who are answering my questions. It's such a frustrating choice to make! I really appreciate your answers and thank you! However, to the others: I didn't actually ask anything about the environmental impact of cloth diapers, although thanks for the laugh. I guess disposable diapers ARE better - it's not like they're biodegradable, chemical-free or reusable or anything. God, who would want that?
Cloth Diapers and Twins? My best friend is pregnant with twins. She recently started looking at cloth diapers to save her money compared to disposables. Please let me know if cloth diapers with twins is the most economical over disposables - by economical I mean in both time and money (diapers, water, soap, electricity, covers, etc.) We do not have any services in town or even nearby to consider. Also, what would she need to start out? How much would it cost up front? How long does an average diaper last before it needs replaced? Do cloth diapers fit all sizes? With twins they'll probaby be smaller than average. And any other info you think might help. Mind you I don't care if she wants to use disposables or cloth - I just want more information from people that actually use them. Thanks in advance. We live in Illinois (no, not Chicago) - so she could line dry in the summer.
cloth diapers or disposable diapers, and why? i was talking to my husband about using cloth cause alot of babies get rashes, alergies to diapers. and also they are so expensive. so if i were to choose cloth how do you wash them, what do you do when they are poopy...lol...when i was little they had diaper service. so wich would you choose is the best way to go? i just feel that at 10 dollars for 12 cloth diapers is not bad and if you buy say 100 dollars worth you are still saving money right?
Info on cloth diapers?? I've decided on using cloth once my husband and I have a baby. I'm trying to price it and figure it out... we're TTC now and I just wanted to have a more educated budget and idea of what's up. So I have a few Q's... please answer if you can and feel free to give any more info you think would be helpful... 1-What is the best brand?.. and why? (Fuzzi Bunz are the ones I've been considering.. anyone know how they are??) 2-How many diapers is reasonable to get in each size? 3-Do cloth diapers help or hurt diaper rash? 4-How often does a baby need to be changed while wearing a cloth diaper? 5-Should a special detergent be used as to be more sensative to the skin of the baby? ... if so.. do you have any recommendations? Again, please feel free to add on info that you think would be helpful. Thanks so much!
Cloth diapers? Are any of you ladies using cloth diapers? I am considering it because I try my best to help the enviroment in anyway I can. Is it a hassle using cloth diapers and did you buy them or make them? I'm considering making my own diapers because they can cost $5 each or more. Will it be worth my time trying to figure out how to make them? I have seen patterns to do this. My baby is not due for another 2 months so I have a little time to prepare. Yeah I believe you on them being gross, I have seen there are disposable liner also that you can just toss into the toilet and flush so you don't have to deal with all the mess. It seems ridiculous that people would use "wasting water" etc. as an excuse to fill dumps w trash instead. I didn't know this was an argument. If this was the case we better not flush, wash hands, brush teeth, wash dishes etc too often. I'm a working mother also or will be, currently on bedrest for remainder of pregnancy. I know it is a bit more responsibility but I want to do my part to leave a planet worth living on for my daughters and their children.
Cloth diapers- fuzzi bunz, g diapers, etc. Which do you use? How many should you buy at one time? Ok. I have decided to switch over to either a cloth diaper like fuzzi bunz OR something like gdiapers, which have the biodegradeable insert that can be flushed down the toilet. Being in the south, we have water issues so, I am not sure which one would be best because I'd have to wash the cloth diapers 2x according to the websites. Anyways, which do you like/use? And how many should I buy to start out?
Cloth Diapering a Newborn, which diapers? After researching about which cloth diapers seem to be the best, we decided to get the: Bum Genius 3.0 One Size pocket diaper, Fuzzibuns new small pocket diaper, and hemp/fleece infant prefolds with Bumpkin covers. Thinking about getting the 12 pack in the Bum Genius, 12 pack in the fuzzibuns, 5 covers (only the prefolds I'm getting need covers), and 24 prefolds. 1st, is this a good number to start with for a newborn? I would want to launder every 2 1/2, 3 days. 2nd, does anyone know if the Bum Genius 3.0 one size is too big for a newborn, or if the fuzzibuns are? 3rd, does anyone know if the Bum Genius 3.0 or the fuzzibuns are okay to use for a baby with an umbilical chord, can they be folded down? If anyone has any answers to even one of these questions it would help alot, Thanks!

What is the best diaper cover you use.. and what is the cheepest way to do it..? Do you use a Pro Wrap (that only fits that size then) or do you go ahead and get a wonder wrap (that fits all stages) ???? Because also with the wonder wrap it has cloth inside already.. I am looking for something like the prowrap that you can just wipe off and put another insert in and wash the wrap about once a week... Just what do you think is the cheepest way!

Interested in cloth diapers...? Hi! I'm currently 20 weeks with baby #3 and am interested in using cloth diapers this time around. I actually wanted to use them with my first but my husband said he couldn't deal with dumping doo-doo into the toilet everyday. lol However, he's only changed about a handful of poopy diapers since we've had our children so I'm pretty set on the idea of going cloth. We now live in the country and we burn our trash. However, diapers don't burn so I had to bag them and every few weeks take them to the dump. It was insane the amount of diapers we just threw out! I jumped on the interenet today but instantly became overwhelmed with all the info out there. What's best? The pocket ones, the all-in-ones, the fitted ones? Or do I do a combo? What brands are the best, the easiest and prevent leaks the best? How much is it to get started? I'm prepared to make the investment and am really excited about not throwing all those disposables out into a landfill! Any info will help! Thanks!

cloth diapers? I'm thinking about using cloth diapers. I don't really know any thing about them. I heard chinese prefold is the best is that true? How many cloth diapers should I buy? Any info you have would be a help. thanks for all the info. i would plan on washing them 2 to 3 times a week. The main reason I want to use cloth diapers is cuz they're cheaper. The money I save on diapers can go into a savings for my kids college fund. Yes I'm also using cloth diapers cuz it's better for the earth.
cloth diapers? i would love to cut down on the $ and waste i put into the trash; but i'm worried the cloth diapers will cause skin irritations. i've done some research on different kinds but i still dont know the best way to go. i dont want laundry services coming to my house--i dont think that'll save me $. i heard theres a website to buy used cloth diapers but thats kinda gross dont you think? any suggestions
Cloth Diapers - Help!? Can someone please tell me what cloth diaper systems are best and inexpensive, and provide a shopping list of the things i might need? or provide a website where i might find this information. there's just so many different kinds of cloth diapers and such, i want to try them but don't know what is best or easiest? Thanks!
more questions on cloth diapers? they seem to be the subject of the day BUT i was wanting to switch to cloth...but i know nothing about cloth diapers. i dont know how to clean them, what the best brand is, what diaper cream to use, how to put them on....can anyone help me with this? i really wanna make the switch, do you save money also? Maybe just a website that can help?
Cloth Diapers and using Dreft? I have heard many conficting views on which detergent really is the best to use for washing cd's. I've been using All free and Clear and I've had some issues with leaking. I've started using Dreft which my mother in law suggested and have had no problems thus far. I also use a 1/4 cup of baking soda and a downy ball 1/2 full of vinager( only opens in rinse cycle) in every wash. Is Dreft really that bad to use? If it's ok for baby clothes why not cloth diapers? Oh and my baby has not had any diaper rash form using Dreft either.
cloth diapers? i want to start letting my 7 month old son wear cloth diapers while we're at home and at grandmas. whats the best kind to get? i don't want to have to use safety pins, are there any with velcro or something like that? how long can a baby wear one? same as disposable diapers? let me know everything! thanks!
cloth diapers? I want to use cloth diapers for my next baby. someone know of the best brand, what brand did you like best? I want the new age ones. not the ones with the cloth and rubber pants but the ones that are all-in-one. any suggestions?? thank you!!
Cloth Diapers? I am planning on using cloth diapers for my first. However there are so many kinds out there I don't know how to pick what is best for my little one. Also I can't seem to find them anywhere but online? Does anyone know of a store that carries them? Also have any of you used cloth whipes? That just seems rather extreme to me so I don't think I will be using them. But I have not completly ruled them out.
Best cloth diaper starter kit? I've decided to try cloth diapers, and I dont want to spend a -ton- on something I'm not sure I'll stick with yet. My boy is a bit over 20 pounds, so I also cant get an infant kit. I spend about $40 a month on diapers, so a kit somewhere in the same ballpark would be great...I've seen a few but dont know which is best. From what I've read, i'm leaning towards chinese or indian pre-folds, though wouldnt mind to pay a bit extra if it included one AIO. Any suggestions? Anything I should stay away from?
Fabric for cloth diapers for sensitive babies? I want to make cloth diapers for preemies, what is the best fabric for the inner layer? I know some preemies can be really sensitive. I'd like to make AIO diapers, with PUL on the outer layer, probably hemp or microfiber in the middle (for the soaker), and I was thinking velour for the inside-but that doesn't take the wetness away as well as suedecloth. Any suggestions? Any cloth you REALLY like/dislike?
cloth diapers? I need all the info I can get on cloth diapers. I want to use them for my future children but I don't really know anything about them. How many should I buy? Which kind of fold is best? thank you for you answers
cloth diapers?? Does anyone know what the best detergent is to wash cloth diapers in? Also does anyone have any they would like to sell? the fitted or AIO type only.. I know you are not supposed to use Dreft and also no bleach it effects the absorbancy.. I am not against disposables, I just am trying something new..I found fitted cloth and they look just the same as the others, I also had lots of diaper rash with the first and i want to trade between the cloth while we are at home and disposables when we go out..
Cloth diapers? Cloth diapers are much better for the inviroment, but kinda hard to find. Any ideas? what type are best?
Cloth diapers? I would just like to know the ins and outs of cloth diapers. How they work; what detergent to use; what kind of fold is best; best brand; best material; most economical use; where to get them; what do we need to use them;how to wash them; pretty much everything you could think of; we would like to know. thank you.

Cloth Diapers? Im thinking about using cloth diapers this time around to save money. What is the best brand ? And could someone please explain them to me websites are leaving me very confused!!
Cleaning poopy cloth diapers? I have an 8 month old who eats solid foods now. What is the best way to clean the poop off the cloth diaper? I've been using the disposable liners but just wondered if there is a quick and easy way to clean the diapers if you aren't using a liner even when it's a mushy mess! My method was shake, rinse, and squeeze out the water but it was really messy so that's why I started to use liners. Anyone want to share their methods? Thanks.
Suggestions on cloth diapers? I'm thinking about trying cloth diapers for my second child. However, I'm getting really confused- there are too many options! I'm thinking of trying prefolds with a diaper cover. What type of cover am I looking for and what are the best prefolds and covers? Thank you!
Advice about cloth diapers? I'm thinking of switching to cloth diapers. IYO, which are the best, considering both cost and quality? Also, if you wouldn't mind explaining in as much detail as possible, how you clean them, what you use to clean them. Thanks! If you didn't use them, you need not answer.... READ You may think it's "nasty" but A. they are better for the environment (each child in disp. diapers creates one ton of waste)B. More comfortable/safer for baby- did you know there are all kinds of chemicals in disp. diapers? & C. Cheaper
I'm looking for the best cloth diaper that isn't too costly.? My grandaughter (my hubby and I are raising her) is 4 months old and I really want to use cloth diapers instead of disposable. The last time I used cloth was 14 years ago for my youngest child and they made these kind that had velcro and came with their own covers. Do they still make these? If so, what brand is best, but not oo costly? Thanks in advance!
Affordable, quality cloth diapers? - Cloth diapering moms only please!? My baby is due in a couple months and I just discovered how cool "new" cloth diapers are! They come in the cutest fabric, I even saw some made of velour! They close with velcro and snaps, some don't even need covers! Who ever thought I could get so excited over cloth diapers? Even my boyfriend is impressed. The ones online are so much cooler than the ones in the store. I've heard the only thing the store bought ones are good for is dusting. But unfortunately they're REALLY expensive! At least for this low income mama. I know I would save money in the long run by using cloth diapers instead of disposables, but just don't have the kind of money it takes to buy a couple dozen good cloth diapers. What's a mama to do? How can I afford to diaper my baby in the awesome cloth diapers? Do any sites that sell them have discounts for poor mamas? I've seen some cheap ones, but I'm nervous buying real cheap ones. I'm afraid they might be cheap quality like the store ones. Suggestions? I don't sew, I wish I could learn- but I don't even know anybody with a sewing machine. I saw those fuzzy bunz, Bugsy- But seriously, have you done the math? It's about $400.00 to get two dozen of those suckers. That's not even including shipping! That's more than my car cost! Shoot maybe I should sell it for diapers!?
Washing cloth diapers? I am new to cloth diapering and have just started to wash my diapers. Here is how I've been washing them: Cold wash with 1/3 cup baking soda Hot wash/Cold rinse with 1/3 cup baking soda and All free and clear w/ half of recommended detergent Cold rinse w/ downy ball half full of vinegar Cold rinse again to remove vinegar smell. How many times do I wash them this way? Is it ever ok to just wash them on hotwash/cold rinse with half of detergent and vinegar? Is it common for cloth diapers to create lint balls when you first start washing them and does this ever stop? Also how do you know when you need to strip your diapers? Like I said I'm totally new to cloth diapers and want to make sure I wash them right so I get the maximum absorbancy and softness.
Cloth diapers? What are the different parts to it? I am expecting a little one soon and am trying to make up my mind about cloth diapers .vs. disposable diapers.I am not getting enough info about how the cloth diapers work. I cannot afford a diaper service and will have to do the washing myself. Are there any liners etc thatI need to buy with the cloth diapers? How does the system work?
Diapers!!!!!!!!!!!!? What's the cost differnce between cloth diapers and disposiable diapers. What he cost of each? How many do you need, and for how long? Wouldn't the BM or urine leak througH?
cloth or disposable diapers? moms, i would like to start a debate right here (tada) in this question about diapers. just a few facts, did you know that disposiable diapers are not ment to hold the poop in the trash, you are suppose to shake it off in the toilet jsut like a cloth diaper; reason; because the poop ends up in our land fills and poultes the ground with human pathogens and increasing the risk of the spread of disease. also, it take 500 years for a disposible diaper to biodegrate and 18-23 billion are thrown away each year. in time for the first years of diapers to biodegrate, 8,500,000,000,000-11,000,000,000,000 will be degrating still. we all know that diapers wernt around for 500 years and that they wont be for much longer, but could you imagine??? please just post opnions, not hate. as for me, i use old fashioned cloth diapers and covers. they work just fine for us. i use chemical free detergent adn viniger to wash, it only takes 20 minutes to dry them and about 60 to wash them. i only wash one... load every other day and it take no effort to fold, its harder to hang shirts, IMO..... hahahah, dont you like how there are sooo many 0's in the second number that the computer just put ...... after it!!!! there were 12 of them.... haha, to CK. your right, we need golf.......ya know, more than our planet. giggle~~~ winnie, you have never tried them, i assume, because i thought the same thing but they are so easy to use, if not easier, you dont put poo in your washing machine and that is why i expalined that you dont use a lot of extra enengy because you only really have to do it every other day and a lot of peeps hang dry. can you believe that the first disposiable was made in 1942, and was make to only hold one wetting??? aww, i would never bleach a diaper, thats why you had rashes, thats crazy!! ahhhhhh! sun dry to get stains out silly!
cloth diapers? How many of you use cloth diapers? My mom used cloth diapers for all three of us. I consider myself "green" and my husband and I are thinking about having a baby. My question is if you have used cloth diapers how convinient are they? I know they deliver but what about going out to eat and having a dirty diaper?
Gerber Flat Fold Birdseye Cloth Diapers or Heavyweight Gauze Cloth Diapers? If you are familiar with cloth diaper, can you please tell me which one is better, softer, thinner, easily dry after washed? I found these two kind being sold at Walmart. I'm thinking of getting either the Gerber Flat Fold Birdseye Cloth Diapers or Heavyweight Gauze Cloth Diapers. The Gauze one is more expensive than the birdeye diapers. Does that mean the gauze has better quality? What other department stores sell them or online stores? Is there other kind of cloth diapers which you highly recommend? Thanks in advance for your advices.
Cloth diapers? Pros vs. Cons? My mother-in-law gave me a box of cloth diapering, but I don't feel very keen to the idea of using cloth diapers. What are the pros/cons of using cloth diapers? Would you recommend using them or not?
